RoboHelp

Hi all,Apologies if this has been asked previously, I did search but couldn't find what I was looking for. I'm a new RoboHelp user and fairly comfortable with the functions of the software, but haven't been able to find a setting for what I'm trying to do. This is also my first post in the support community 🙂  I'm currently adding some "Page Contents" boxes to the top of  some of my user guide pages. The contents boxes use links to page bookmarks within each page. I'm creating the links by dragging them in from the contents panel. The trouble is, when I drag in the links they display the filenames rather than the bookmark titles, and so they display complete with underscores. Is there a setting anywhere in RoboHelp to make it use the title rather than the filename when dragging and dropping links?I've also attached some photos of what I'm doing, just in case I didn't describe it clearly! In the first and second photos below, you can see I've used dropdown te

Hi,This may sound like a silly question, but how are the cookie dialogue box & footer supposed to work?Is the cookie dialogue box created externally? I'm unable to configure anything from Robohelp or the skin editor it seems. As for the footer, I get that you can use any topic as your footer, but is there a template that anyone has for a simple collection of possible links, as per the example in the skin editor i.e. Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, etc.?Thanks, Francis 

I am working in a project that was converted from RH2019 Classic and is now running on RoboHelp 2020.6.76. I have some table style updates I want to apply and these will work best if I can use the table header functionality. But right now when I click "Convert to Header" the style that is being applied is not the style I want. This is what my table looks like right now with the header manually formatted using a paragraph style.  And this is what I see when I select "Convert to Header":It keeps my formatting for the words, but the table loses its borders completely. Here's what I have for the css. Hi Team,I have a small query in Framless output. I'm working on a content which has couple of subtopics, Sub-subtopics. When I used Frameless output to view my content. In Right side navigation bar, all my subtask appears as an individual headings, but it's not appearing as a tree expand structue. I saw in Peter Grainge's website, he used same frameless output and all the subtopics are aligned under the respective headings in an tree-expand order. I'm trying to achieve the same but I couldn't figure out how to do. I have attached screenshots of your site and my content for reference. Fed up with repeatedly clicking these icons to increment/decrement the value? Click on whichever icon once, then hold down the Enter key until you reach the value you want. Easy when you know how.   Note though it may not work in all instances. It would be great to have a SHOWCASE post with links to websites with modifications of the various standard Robohelp skins.  I'm particularly interested in how others may have modified the Frameless-Studio skin.  But any other skin modifications would be great to see, too.  Please reply to this post with links that may help others brainstorm their own skin modifications.  Thanks!

Using RH2020.7.46Can any image be used when applying twisties?I have two .png images (expand and collapse) that appear in preview but do not appear after publishing.Additionally, when I click either Image Placement icon (to place the twisty image to the left of the drop down title or the right of the drop down title) the file paths to the twisty images disappear.Any suggestiongs?

Hey folks,I am trying to send a rhpj file to another user to work on. We've done this before, but I can't remember what we did. When I send it to her now, she opens it and none of the topics display. Please advise-- I have a feeling it's something small we're missing! I sent her the published version too-- we both had a memory that we needed to do something with that to make it work. 

I am converting our current Online Help to a ServiceNow Knowledge Base.  The Robohelp pages have a lot of of cross referencing and bookmarks.  I see some of the pages I sent over to test the publishing process have broken links mostly due to ServiceNow assigning a KB number (KBxxxx) to every page in place of the page's filename. Is there any guidance/best practices on preserving the links before I publish the entire 300+ page project over to ServiceNow?

I'm having an issue using the <pre></pre> tags in RH2017.We have code snippets in our help topics that use multiple spaces to indent and align the code. In our language translation application, these spaces get stripped out causing the code to be one continuous line and loses all this whitespace formatting.After some testing it was found that by using the pre tags such as in the snippet of code below, the language translation software is able to process the lines of code without stripping out the whitespace.One issue I'm facing is when I apply the <pre> tags over the entire code snippet which, in this case, are contained within <div> tags:It looks fine in the RoboHelp Design view:But in RoboHelp Preview view (Ctrl+W) or when I publish the topic, RH for some reason inserts a blank line after each line in the code. Hi There, Can you guys please help me out with this really tricky issue?I am currently using RoboHelp 2019 to maintain content of 5 projects in Asian languages (Japanese, Chinese simplified and Chinese traditional). Output is in chm format.When my Windows OS is run in English language and I open any of these Asian language projects, my observation for each set of these 5 projects is that index is displayed as garbage values. These garbage values are displayed if the Binary Index checkbox (in Project Settings UI of Project Ribbon bar) is checked. If I uncheck this checkbox,  then I get index with proper Asian language script.  The problem arisis with the separate master.chm file which contains its own set of webpages plus all the 5 chm projects as merged files. Garbage values get displayed in the index tab. Irrespective of whether I check or uncheck the index, the problem persists. The merged indexes resolutely retain rubbish values.  Can you please he

I have a help file that was converted from RH2017 to RH2020. The author used comments extensively in this file to document source information for changes made. I can see these comments in the source view in RH2020, however, I can find no way to make them visible in author view. For example: a comment was inserted beside the Name 3 J1 Segment heading in RH2017. In RH2017 the author could see that the note existed because of a yellow note icon and then double click to read. There is no indication of this note in RH2020 author view. Does anyone know if RoboHelp run on the new Macs with M1 chips?

Hello All! I'm wondering if someone can help me out as I'm not sure on how I'm supposed to do this. I'm generating a frameless output and have my TOC all sorted out. I have different sorts of documents:But when you click on one you see the whole TOC on the right side. I only want to see the TOC for the FAQ for example instead of all the documents that I have. :Is there a setting or a way for me to only have the current 'projects' TOC on the right side? this is my TOC in Robohelp:I hope I'm explaining this well and that someone could help me. have a great day! 

Unable to import word document into RoboHelp 2020.7.46 version. I have tried all the below methods.1.Word document is closed while importing.2.Ensured word is not open in Task manager.3. Updated patch 7.4. Removed all the hyperlinks in the word document before importing.5. Ensured the format of the document is.docx.However after trying all these techniques, still the word document is not getting imported. Is the issue from Application end. Awaiting for your valuable response. 

I have some topics listed in the "Unreferenced files" report even though they are referenced, it's just that the links are perhaps unorthodox. I wanted the entire <li> element to be clickable, so I used an onclick event to link to the topic in question:<li class="clickableListItem" onclick="location.href='Wiring_Diagram_2_Pole_Line_Voltage_-_XCVR2.htm'"> <p>Wiring Diagram 2 Pole Line Voltage</p> </li>Which works great but...now when I compile, and topics that aren't in the TOC or linked from another topic using a standard <a> tag (I'm assuming), get left out of the Responsive output.Any thoughts on how to handle this? Is there a way to include Unreferenced Topics in the output? Is there a way to let it know that an "onclick" event is just as good as the classic <a> tag? I am currently using RoboHelp 2017. I have a very old user guide, not created by me, that has been upgraded to 2017. I see that the person did not give specific names to images. I do not know what was being used to capture screen shots but when I look at the image types I see that there are duplicate names but one image is a .gif and one is a .jpg. See screen shot attached.  I would like to rename the images but I'm not sure if this will cause problems in RoboHelp. Do you know a 'best method' for renaming the images?

Hi all,in RH2020.7.46, the printing functionality in the frameless output cuts off the last 2-4 lines of a topic that is longer than 1 page.Apparently, in the sample projects, this problem did not occur as there all topics have a couple of blank lines added at the end.Has anyone already reported this behaviour as a bug? Otherwise, I will do so.Best regardsKarin

I am a creator of content and want our developer to estimate time required to take the help that I create and make it available in web-based sofware.  Is there a forum or documentation that will help him to understand what is required to be done?   

Greetings, I am evaluating different ebook editors and I am leaning toward RoboHelp 2020, however I have ran into a few issues.  The most important being the cover page for the epub book I would be creating. I have put a cover page in the Front Matter that is a Topic with only the Cover Page image, see image.  In the Output eBook settings (set for epub) I have set the Cover Image to the same image.  When I compile for eBook there is no xhtml page and the epub does not have a cover page.  If I take out the cover in settings or take out Front Matter this still happens.  I looked in Sigil and the cover image is in the Images folder.  I looked in the opf file and the information for cover is incorrect and is pointing only at the image.  The file has: in metadata <meta content="image_cover" name="cover" /> and in manifest the id is wrong <item id="cover-image" href="images/cover.png" media-type="image/png" properties="cover-ima

Hi all.We are using Windows 10 and 11 Pro\EntRobohelp  2020.7.46 (We are observing this issue since 2020.5 i think)We are facing the issue when after upgrading Robohelp we can't open our project. It is endless 'upgrading files'. We have also tried to recreate our project on device with updated Robohelp. Under recreate I mean simply move topics and skin files from old version  to new version. This fixes the issue for a current device but when a collegue trying to open it - it is in endless 'reading files'. I saw few old topics regarding href slashes, but i though it was fixed. Anyway we got around 2000 topics and every got a hrefs so it's impossible to review thme all. Any help? This really impacts our job for a long time.

I'm using RH 2020.7.46 on a Win10 machine. Is it possible to change the formatting of snippets? I reuse a lot of content and snippets could be VERY helpful if I could change their format. For example, it'd be great to use a snippet in regular body text: A standard scenario is a collection of questions, message templates, and sites/site roles tied to a customizable button that, when selected, initiates a series of simultaneous notifications to separate audiences. But then also use it in a bulleted list:A panic button scenario is a ...A standard scenario is a collection of questions, message templates, and sites/site roles tied to a customizable button that, when selected, initiates a series of simultaneous notifications to separate audiences.A Zoom integration scenario is a ... Or even just an indented paragraph vs. a standard paragraph. Is that possible? 

I am unable to Import a word document consisting of 290 pages into Robohelp 2020 version to generate a .chm file? I am getting the below error. Awaiting for your response.
