RoboHelp

I upgraded from RH2019 (Re-imagined) to RH 2020.0.156 and I can no longer generate my HTML5 output. Selecting Generate in any of my output presets causes the RH screen to go completely white and hang. From that state, while I can still see the menus, selecting Help | Restart RoboHelp does nothing. Ditto for clicking the X icon. I have to close it through the Taskbar or Task Manager.

Can RoboHelp 2020 translate the content from English to Spanish language? What should be the better approach and how Adobe can support me on this?

RH2020.7.46 Is there anyway to create a conditional expression to use Include expression instead of Exclude such that I can generate output to include on files with a particular condition tag? We have many pages/files that do not have any associated condition tags - I would like to have output generated that Only includes pages with condtion tag of X.

I want to add a background image to my front cover. I try specifying an image path in background for my topic but it does not display the image. When I went to the source I saw that it added the background-image to a pargraph. So I moved it to the body and now the image displays in the topic in RH but when I preview it or generate the PDF, the image is not there. I can add the image to the topic but then I cant get the size right because it just sits in the corner of the topic underneath the title, which is not want I want. 

Hello, just wondering if compilation will be possibily faster under certain circumstances.what happens when RH is 'patching' during compilation?I suspect removing not existing links or something like that. Which is possible in my case, as they have to be corrected.I'm just wondering if compilation will be skipping that patching once links are in order.best regardsOlivier

Warning: Error occurred while parsing inline style :1:7: Missed semicolon: "width:99.9% margin-left: 0.15pt;"I received this error in the output log after successfully generating Responsive HTML. There are similar error listed for one other topic in the output log. I've tried searching for the string but there are 0 results. What should I do?  

Hello, I'm trying to evaluate the amount of work to migrate from RH2019classic to RH2020 and unmerge a project with 30-ish subprojects to one. One of the hurdles is the mapfiles. I followed the sequence (which doesn't talk about the mapfiles but that's ok) Peter posted here all looking good. per subproject I had a mapfile. In RH2019 classic this looks like thisbut when importing the same file in RH2020, i get thisSo somewhere deep in the filestructure of RH2019 there must be a second file containing the relations.Do I really need to fill up these topics again manually? Or is there some tric?Why did I loose the topicnames? I checked, they are present in author/content/assets, for each ex-subproject in its own subfolder.Do I have to merge those mapfiles to one, or can import them separately (but what about naming conventions in that case).Can i change the order of the mappings? this will be cumbersome as they seem to be ordered in different way's from RH2019 classic  to RH2020.

My company will be moving to SharePoint Online.  I was testing to see how I can get RoboHelp files onto the online site I have. I can copy the files from my hard drive and place the on the SharePoint site but when I try open the index file the guide does not dissplay properly.  In working with IT, they mentioned an article they found titled "Publish to SharePoint Online and Other Publishign Enhancements". In the article it states that you can publish Responstive HTML5 output to SharePoint Online in the native ASPX format. I cannot figure out how to publsh in the native ASPX format.  I must be able to publish to SharePoint Online or I will no longer be able to use RoboHelp. Thank you,Michele

Hi team. I have robohelp server 11 and robohelp 2020 client, i'am facing strange issue during publications ! I use a project and i want to do several different publications from that project like it was possible to do it with RH2015 and RH server 9.I created 2 output preset :  -Responsive HTML5  - Content tab / Title : AideLabo_BRN_f  => Generate and publish => OK-Responsive HTML5v2 - Content tab / Title :  AideLabo_BRN_a => Generate and publish => OKWe are different conditions expressions per each publication profile. My projetc name is : Labo  After generation, i can see locally that 2 folders have been generated, one for each project !  When i do the first publication, in my robohelp server admin page i can see my projet : Labo When opening it on a browser i can see it with the good information.When i do the second publication, it overwrite the first one ! I want the table content to be the same as the word chapter,  I uses  robohelp to import word  file for html , select the corresponding style, and   click import button , the [  table of content ] is not the  same with word chapter  . Is there any way to solve it please? i am using the robohelp 2020 test version. thanks .  

We have successfully used Context Sensitive Help with the Classic version for many years. We recently started the conversion to 2020. Lacking a Classic 2020 option we selected Responsive HTML5. Under the Classic version our web pages had anchors with this:RH_ShowHelp(0, helpUrl + '>CSH', HH_HELP_CONTEXT, helpMapId);Where helpUrl and helpMapId were defined on every page as:<script language="JavaScript"> var helpMapId = '160000'; var helpUrl = '/help/index.htm'; </script>Everything has worked fine since 2015. We ran the Adobe provided mapping conversion, but it only converted about 50% of our topics but we were eventually able to get all 2200 mappings into 2020. Based on the sheer number of pages we wanted to retain the helpMapId concept from the Classic version. It appears as though the new name is helpMapNo and helpMapId is now a character string similar to what one would think of as a key in a key\value pair, but other than the name change, helpMa

I can embed images and vidoes.  Can I embed a spreadsheet?  I suspect not because I do not see an option for it, but I was wondering if there might be a way through a link in an IFRAME.

How does one configure or hide these FEATURES ABOUT FEEDBACK options in the Topic Page of the skin? They are set for a mid-topic jump labeled "nogo".  Is there any documentation anywhere on working with these? Thanks!

Hello,I’m using Robohelp 2020.6.76. I’ve imported a PDF into the contents panel (using Import > file) and linked to it from a topic. After generating Responsive HTML5 output, in the preview, the PDF opens as a PDF (as expected).However, after I upload the generated project to our server and click the link to the PDF from the help topic, I get an error message stating the resource has been removed or is temporarily unavailable.Other PDFs that exist in the same folder in the contents panel and are also linked in topics work just fine when viewed from the server. (These PDFs were all added in RH 2019 before the project was upgraded: don’t know if that’s significant.)I tried importing the PDF as a baggage file, adding it to the TOC and linking to the baggage file from the topic: that didn’t work either. Tried moving the PDF to a different folder: didn’t work. Tried linking the PDF to a different topic: that didn’t work.I imported a different (“dummy”) PDF and linked that one to a “dummy

I have some files in my project A that are synced with files of project B. The location of project  B changed. How can I change the link to the project B files in project A?RH2020.6.76

I am using RoboHelp Version 2020.6.76I read in this page that few scripts are supplied with RoboHelp. But in the scripts panel there are no scripts. In post generation screen of output presets also there are no scripts. Could someone help me find these scripts or provide them. I am specifically looking for Variable Converter script. 

Hi all! I am using a rebranded "Orange" frameless skin. There is a search icon that appears in the top-right corner of the output:When clicked, the icon "toggles" to the Search box (icon disappears and Search box becomes focus in the middle of the header): What I want to do is set the default value of this "toggle" to "search-selected" so that the Search box above appears on the page upon load, instead of the search icon. I am familiar with the div classes for each element and in digging around, suspect this may need a script or LayoutDiff.css edit...but I just can't nail down where (or how) I can specify this. On the front-end skin editor, I've tried changing various Display options on the search-icon and search-selected elements, but again coming up empty. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi, Did anyone tested RHS11 with SQL 2019 Express edition ?  In the documentation it is mentionned that its compatible with SQL 2017, adobe sailes person told me that it was compatible with SQL 2019, i'am facing stranges issues here with RHS11 - RH2020 like :  -Publication issue -Cant create areas through webadmin interface  Any feedback about that please ? Regards 

I have made a .js file with code to sort a table column (copied from w3schools).The code resides in my project's contents\assets\scripts\webhelp_scripts.jsThe topic that contains the table to be sorted has the line <script src="../../../assets/scripts/webhelp_scripts.js"></script> If I preview the topic in Chrome, the script works just fine.However, if I compile the project, the js file is not copied to the \assets\scripts folder, so the sorting does not work. If I copy the .js file to the output manually, the sorting works again. Do js files need to be in a specific location to be copied to the output?

After upgrading to RH 2020.7 I'm unable to apply div styles. Say you have a class looking like this:div.my-style { font-size: 28px; }The style is visible in the style list but is not applied when picking it in the text editor. If I change the class to a span it works...span.my-style { font-size: 28px; } I had no issues with this prior the update.

Hi Everyone,I am working on a project using a default skin and the usual components on the homepage. The question I have is regarding the Search bar on the main homepage.When I hover over the search bar (at the middle) I cannot click in the search bar, and subsequently nothing happens. It has to be at a specific place on the search bar (above the middle) for it to allow me to search.That being said, when I move my mouse cursor upwards towards the top half of the search bar (above the middle mark), then I can click within it and subsequently search fine.This is a slightly weird experience, I have already tried altering the container, inner and outer search box and text field information.I would like to have this search box in such a way, that wherever I click inside of the search box, I am able to begin searching.Please can I have some assistance in this regard? Hi,We are currently using RH 2019, soon 2020 quite extensively and would like to move to "context sensitive help" mode.  I am rather new to this and I see that there are 2 ways to implement this feature, either with MAP Id's or direct URL from the UI to the topics. Am I correct?  If so, what are the advantages of using MAP Id's versus direct URL?  Are MAP Id's really necessary? Isn't it easier to use URL directly? Thank you

Hello,I am using RH 2020.6.76 and trying to use the Frameless output type. My project has a little less than 3000 topics.After I generate the Frameless output and putting it on our webserver, the Search has a drastically decreased response time the first time I search. Sometimes it is 10 seconds, sometimes more where the screen shows no response at all. Users complain because they think search is broken since the screen does not indicate that it is doing anything.I did some tracking and it appears that this time is largely spent downloading search_db.js, which is approximately 26 MB. The search speed does improve once the file is stored locally.My questions are as follows:How can I speed up this response time?Does the recently released 7 patch fix this?What is the search_db.js.gz do? It is currently excluded from our builds since Git does not allow us to check in binary files over 5 MB.Thanks.Tim
