After Effects is creating .CRASH files on my desktop every time I open it. It isn't crashing. Does anyone know how to change this behavior?

Hi roberts36345217,
Welcome to the community.
What's the exact version of After Effects you're using? Also, what are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)? Please share the file After Effects creates on your desktop so we can investigate.
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Nishu

Thanks for sharing the details and the file.
Engineers suspected that it could be the Maxon's Particular plug-in. Are you using it? If so, try uninstalling it temporarily and see if that helps.
Thanks,
Nishu

Hi shannons45648962,
Sorry about the crash. Could you share your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM, OS version)? Try updating your GPU driver.
Let us know if that helps.
Thanks,

Have you tried updating the GPU driver to the latest? If that does help, try clean installing the driver.
Let us know the results.
Thanks,
Nishu

In most cases, this issue is related to the GPU driver. Have you updated/changed your GPU? If so, make sure to remove the old GPU's driver and its residue files.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Nishu

Hello, I have the same problem. I wonder if it's possible to change the destination folder for the .crash files.
At least I won't have my desktop filled with them every week.
Thanks

I'm experiencing the same thing. I'm not very knowledgeable about this issue, but I installed a few plugins and this problem occurred. I think it happened because I put all of them on different disks, or I don't know, I don't remember because I had to download a lot of different things. As a result, even though I deleted them all, the error was not resolved.
