I can't believe that I've just wasted a ton of money on an eGPU to discover the After Effects doesn't support it. Pull your fingers out Adobe!!!

We really need the eGPU to work with after effects. It just slows everything down!

After Effects is powerful but too slow on my mac, with eGPU support it would save me days of waiting every month. Please get eGPU support soon!

@Goofy Foot Press I think that article is incorrect.

Of the three listed, Adobe Media Encoder and Premiere Pro will use eGPU via CUDA, but After Effects not so much, as indicated by this open RFE.

Hello, I see in the thread that some have had luck using an eGPU for use with Photoshop and Illustrator, does anyone know if this works with Lightroom Classic? i really need the eGPU or another computer to get the features i need to work.

  1. I don't know if this thread was originally started by a Windows user, so I can't comment on what issues you are having if you use Windows. But I hope you Mac OS users are all aware that the way to add GPU support to your Adobe apps, is simply to:

    1) right-click on your adobe app
  2. select "get info"
  3. check the "Prefer External GPU" button

This works in Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, InDesign, Xd, Lightroom and probably a whole lot more CC apps I don't even use. I have to say (with some annoyance as it's a central part of my workflow) that regular Adobe Bridge does not want to use my Vega 56 or my Radeon 6600 XT, but the Adobe Bridge Beta does, so I'm using that instead of regular Adobe Bridge.

Please add support to external egpu. I don't want to be forced to upgrade may quite new intel Macbook pro. I advise you that competitors support egpu 🙂
