upvote- especially when c4d lite is included and even in conjunction with use of 3d modeling as a compositing tool, After Effects does fall behind in playback scrub and rendering in real time and using the media encoder. Having an Egpu is a huge investment and the fact that premiere supports it but not after effects isn't great guys. Please support EGPU in your next update.
hello adobe, Please help with this support. I would love to utilise my new egpu. Ever since I was a little boy I always wished to have a proper graphics card to edit cool videos on to.... however I only now realise that egpu is not supported 😞 I am very sad and I am very hopeful that you will do the needful for after effects. Please please please fix this. its 2020.
This should be a maximum level requirement - I'm doing video tutorials and keying and skin grading are mission critical. I have a razor X eGPU apparently idling!
I have a MackBook Pro (2018 i9, 32M, 1TB SSD) and a BlackMagic eGPU (560 Radeon), connected through TB3, and I can tell you: After Effects ignores all of it. The AE is eGPU enabled, the RAM shared is 27GB and the scratch disk (SSD) has 600GB. However, all of these doesn't matter for the app, specially when there are audio tracks or short footage clips along the timeline.
It is very disappointing. What is it happening here?
There isn't a 27" iMac, with an Adobe supported GPU, since 2017. The necessity for an eGPU is real, otherwise there isn't a single current iMac option for Creative Cloud.
I just purchased a bunch of top of the line 2020 iMac with the Radeon 5700XT and After Effects is flickering all over the place and Illustrator is constantly giving me GPU error messages.
Really detrimental to workflows when only a fraction of your eGPU/GPU is being used by AE. PLEASE add support for eGPU's! OSX users are depending on this!
