After Effects

The last save file on after effects is not getting saved some times and also it was not saved in autosave. When I close and open its not showing it as saved.

I posted this yesterday, but for some reason the post disappeared. So trying again…I’m a subscriber to Creative Suite running the latest version of After Effects (25.6.4 Build 3) on Windows 11.Has the option to disabled the “Tip of the Day” from displaying at After Effects first load been removed?I’m not finding the option to disable that in the usual place Preferences > Startup & Repair. Hello everyone, Since last week Thursday I have been having issues with After effects.After using after effects for a few minutes the preview screen freezes. Once that happens if I try to continue editing after effects will freeze. When trying to close after effects it won't work. Even closing it with task manager doesn't work. It only closes if I completely restart my laptop. The past few days I did more testing. trying to edit and restart after effects everytime it wanted to freeze and crash. The more I work in the project and add more things the faster it will eventually freeze. Doing simple things like masking a picture or adding beat markers also could make this freeze happen.  These past days new versions of after effects came out. sadly when updating these versions didn't fix the problem and today with the new update 25.5 it still didn't fix.  I already tried a few things:Reseting prefrences, Starting up in safe mode (same issues occured), turning off al

I’m trying to use the new feature that’s supposed to allow me to manipulate the gradient baked into an Illustrator file. However, when I import and convert vector to shape, I just get a grey fill instead of any gradient options. I’m not the most advanced Illustrator user, so I suspect there’s something within that file that’s causing trouble. I’ve attached.Any help is appreciated - thanks!

I'm trying to use Frame.io in the panel in AE, but end up going around in circles. When I click to log in with my adobe ID, it seem like I can log in, but then I get a message saying something about "unsupported account" and there's a button to click to go to a "v4 comments panel." I click that button and nothing happens. WTF? It does seem that I'm logged in though, I can click to see my account info and can start to create a new project, but when I try to confirm the new project, the dialog box just doesn't close and no project is created. Am I doing something wrong, or is this frame.io panel just broken?

Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well Today I discovered Frame.io and I have been using it in its website, but I want to use it on After effects so I can upload my projects directly from there. I made sure to download the plugin in the Creative Cloud Marketplace, but it seems to not work. When I go to Window (I does not let me click on Extensions even though I have other extensions as Mr. Horse) > It only gives me the option "Review with Frame.io" and when I open it, it says: "Unsupported account, acces this account with the new Frame.io V4 Comments panel", so I does not let me even upload a file (I have already log in) I just downloaded that from the marketplace! And I opened Premiere and it seems that it does work there.  Does anyone know how to solve this problem?. I personally think Frame.io would work perfectly for my job, so It would be very sad if I can not use it in After effects. Thank you so much in advance and have a great one!

Hey guys, just got after effects and am already hating the crap out of it. I used to use after effects 7 back and the day and have never ran into this problem. I’m currently trying to render about 4 minute video which basically the only effects I’m using are scaling, rotation, particle effects and some motion pixel blur. The concept is to just have the video rotating zooming out, when ever I go to render it jumps to 200+ hours and then fails about 11 hours in. I’m currently using a Mac Studio with the M4 max processor and 36gbs of ram.Ive tried all the solutions on the internet, including Turning off multi frame rendering, apple pro res encoding, QuickTime format, emptying the cache, pdf image rendering, allocating the ram just for after effects, etc…Im trying to render the video to my ssd which has 2100mb/s write speed. Maybe thats the issue? I want to render it to my computer harddrive but its currently full due to all of my recording files/plugins/sample files.what should I do?!?

After Effects Version 23.2.0 (Build 65) Windows 11 22H2 (Build 22621.1265)   Menu items take a long time to drop down when clicked, sometimes over a minute. The software will hang while I wait. The Composition menu is the least responsive of the menus. This started after I upgraded to Windows 11.   Expected result: click on the Composition menu and see the dropdown instantly Actual result: click on the Composition menu and After Effects hangs for up to a minute before the menu appears.   Title edited by Mod.

When opening after effects, it will get to the splash screen scanning fonts and then crash. It crashes on a different font every time. I am working on a mac studio - M2 Max, 32GB.splash screen before crashingcrash notice 

Keyframe icons aren’t displaying properly in the timeline. A linear keyframe icon will randomly appear as a hold keyframe icon or an ease in keyframe icon etc. When I click on it, it reverts back to what it actually is. If I click away, it switches back to the wrong icon. AE 26.0.0. OS X Tahoe 26.2. 

The clips started in premiere pro and I replaced sequence with AE comp, in premiere pro I used gyroflow to help stablize the footage. I’m using Track Motion on 4K 60fps footage that’s been precomped twice and is now in a 1080p comp. I’m tracking inside the 1080 comp and applying the data to a null using Edit Target. The track itself looks solid with no visible drift, but once I apply it, the null starts in the correct position and then immediately drifts as playback begins. The null is currently parented to the tracked layer. Both layers are at 100% scale, and there’s no time remapping or stabilization applied.

Somehow the properties panel doesn’t show detail info. For example, I used to be able to click on a layer with a shape, and the shape info would be accessible. No longer. Same with type, click on a text layer and nothing.  

In After Effects, the Effects panel randomly becomes unresponsive. The app doesn’t crash, but I can’t select any effects. It worked minutes ago. Sometimes it fixes itself, sometimes I must restart AE. 

In AE I want to create a mogrt (with a textbox) that have also an in and out sound fx.I use responsive intro and outro for this. I make sure in “unprotected area” not to have keyframes or audio. The problem is  when I import the mogrt in PP , it can’t be stretchedThanks for any helpChris

There’s this very specific bug that has been happening to me since the later versions of After Effects 2025 and it’s still present on the latest 2026 release.I do a lot of transcriptions on Premiere, then convert those to captions, then convert those captions to graphics, and finally copy the graphics layers from Premiere to After Effects. This is a workflow that I’ve been doing for a while without any issues.These graphic layers are interpreted in After Effects as compositions with text layers inside. And this behavior is still true.But since later versions of After Effects 2025 (up to the current release of 2026), whenever there’s a line break (only on the first line of text) in this layer that comes from Premiere, the rest of the text just disappears. It’s still selectable and reappears if I remove the line break or convert the text layer from the original paragraph text to point text, but I just preferred if this wouldn’t happen in the first place.I’m on a 2021 M1 Macbook Pro. My AE cameras have a definite cut off point, go any closer and they will not focus on anything. I have done some tests using different camera settings and it seems that the cut of point is exactly 10% of the zoom value:If the zoom is 5333.3 pixels, it will not focus less than 533 pixels away.If the zoom is 1500 pixels, it will not focus less than 150 pixels away.Here is a video of the issueA work around to this is to scale up the entire scene and the camera:- Create a 3D Null,- attach all 3D layers and your camera to that null,- scale up the null (as much as you need maybe 400%)- unlink the layers and camera Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work for cameras that are linked to nulls as part of a camera rig. As I use lots of camera rigs, I’d really appreciate if anyone can provide a solution to this.Thanks,Laurie 

Hello all, thanks for taking the time to read my question. I am using AE 26.2 with my composition rendered set to Advanced 3D.I have imported an obj file but can not assign a jpg material to it. Or any image file for that matter.Under the objects material options both “default” and “Material 2” only have “Default” as an option in the dropdown.Same with using either the GLB or GLTF format of the 3d asset.Any help with I might be doing wrong would be much appreciated.No texture options available other than default 

I clearly want to  update my plugins after a while and that includes adding new parameters or replacing old parameters with new ones of different types. Question is, how do I do that without corrupting old projects? Currently I made a copy of my code and I have both the old version and the new version with different parameters just to prevent breaking my old projects. The downside is that I had to modify the name of the plugins (added 2.0 at the end) and also the old plugins obviously don’t get the actual functionality update(s). How can add/replace parameters without breaking old projects? Is the only way to keep the old parameters as invisible/hidden and read their values to adapt the new ones? That makes the code very messy.

Once I finish tracking, I apply the data. The key frames show up in the clip but does not effect the clip in any way. This happens with Mocha AE as well.It is a 4K clip in a 1080p timeline / Shot on a FX3It worked fine up until a month or so ago, any thoughts on what it could be. Hi, I’m trying to use Content Aware Fill, for the first time probably and it just won’t create any Fill for me. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, but I’v tried it as well on completly different footage and project and the problem persist. I upload the footage Create a Mask on the layer Set the Mask on Subtract and sets Feather Motion Tracker on Mask is not needed The hole is visible in Comp and in Content Aware Fill Clicks on Generate Fill Layer from Content Aware Fill After approximately 6s a new fill layer appears, however without any fill or content Immediatelly my CPU and RAM start going up until 100% (I have 64GB DDR4 RAM and i5-12600KF CPU) CPU stops going crazy when I delete the new Fill layer and my RAM drops to like 80-90%, until I reopen the project again. There is no visible activity in After Effects and I even left it for a moment running on 100% to see, if something appear in After Effects, however nothing showed up. For most of the time I don’t encounter hardware limitations

hallo liebes Adobe Team, ich nutze seit Jahren das kostenlose und tolle Plugin von Video Copilot namens FX Console.Ab der Version 26 und auch in der letzten Beta, lässt es sich nicht mehr richtig nutzen. In den Einstellungen funktioniert der shortcut “option+Space” nicht mehr. Was aber viel schlimmer ist: wenn ich den  Efffect “Füllen” in die Favoriten ablege, stürzt After Effects ab. Was mir auffällt, das die deutschen Sonderzeichen nicht ht erkannt werden, jedoch funktionieren die Verknüpfungen zu anderen Effekten mit Sonderzeichen.Ich hoffe das Problem wird gelöst denn es ist ein unverzichtbares Werkzeug für mich und viele Andere User geworden.In derVersion 25.64 funktioniert das selbe Plugin Fehlerlos.https://www.videocopilot.net/blog/2018/05/fx-console-updated-to-v1-0-3/ 

There have been consistency issues for sometime now with Adobe and Decklink drivers, specifically at 2160p60. To get them working, the framerate will have to changed down to 24 and back again before they display correctly.Also toggling between After eEffects and Premiere does not work, and the first app opened keeps priority. After Effects BMD Mercury only works if Premiere is not open when you open After Effects.It is good to see progress on HDR monitoring in AE, though it would be good if you could auto scale the comp size into suitable Decklink size for display, rather than the frankly ridiculous current system of manually picking Scale up, Down or OFF. It is important when footage and comp sizes are often very differentAdobe say this is in the hands of Blackmagic. I just wanted to see if it was being looked into, and suggest a scheduled contact between the two companies, specifically on point releases of software. It feels like this has slipped down the priority list a lot, though
