I’d previously reported a bug along these lines for the release version of Ai, but I’m not sure if that feeds through to the beta version too, so here goes:I have a document whose scale is 1:200. I have set the scale in the Dimension Tool Options to 1:200, and I can use the lovely Dimension Tool to happily add dimensions to anything and it gives an accurate dimension. Nice.I want to get the area of certain parts (it’s a garden layout and I want to be able to figure out how many paving slabs etc. to order). Sadly there’s not an ‘area’ option in the Dimension Tool, so I have to resort to the ancient Measure Tool. Why have these two tools not been merged?? Isn’t it time to add features to the Dimension Tool and kill of the Measure Tool? Anyway…If, using the (useless) Measure Tool, I try to get the length of something, it gives some figure based on nothing useful nor relevant. When launching the program, the following window pops up. If I click OK, the program loads, but it's unstable—it quickly freezes.Only deleting the plugin helps.The solutions described in the More Info link don't help.

The file was originally exported as PDF from CAD software, then opened and edited in Illustrator. I'm simplifying the objects (Expand + Pathfinder Combine) to prepare them for laser cutting.There are four identical compass indicator shapes, each consisting of a letter "U" (Utara/North) with an arrow beneath it. I successfully simplified one of them, but when I try to delete any of the remaining three, Illustrator crashes every time. The crash is consistent and reproducible. My intention after cleanup was to simply duplicate the simplified object across the layout. Steps to reproduce:Open a PDF exported from CAD software (edited in Illustrator) Simplify one of four identical "U" letter objects using Expand + Pathfinder Combine Attempt to select and delete any of the three remaining (unsimplified) objects App crashes immediatelyExpected behavior: Selected objects are deleted without issue.Actual behavior: Illustrator crashes every time on step 3, regardless of which of the three objects

It seems that the Quick Pen tool was removed form the most recent Adobe Illustrator Beta update. I want to advocate for it’s return.

Trying “Sketch to Vector” with “communication error” and no output cost me 40 credits - support says, no refund possible.I wonder, how a Gen AI engine can be programmed to charge you BEFORE any output is created and published to the client - without the ability to refund in case of error. Apparently, we’re paying for button clicks in the first place, and - only, if we’re lucky - as an added bonus we get a Gen AI output as a result of those clicks.

Images “glitch out” while moving them on artboards. Not a huge problem on its own, but causes my file to crash eventually without ability to re-open it as .ai - only pdf, losing all vector graphics.I had to re-do the same file two times already.

When creating a new object (e.g. using the Rectangle Tool), the previously created object disappears from the canvas. Previous object is not visible anymore (preview or outline view).

I discovered that my beta version of Ilustrator that I installed on my Surface Pro tablet (running Windows 11)  has upgraded itself to version 30 and in the process, can no longer recognize pressure sensitivity with my stylus. I tested the stylus in other programs and I can confirm that those programs have no difficulty with varying pressure. I do not know what has changed (does this have something to do with using emulation to get Illustrator to work with the Surface Pro ARM processor?) and I would really like to go back to creating with this program. Has anybody else experienced this problem and if so, are there any settings I can use to get Illustrator to once again acknowledge pressure variations?

Operating: Windows 11 (Snapdragon X12-core, ARM-based processor)Version: AI Beta v.30.4Since a few Illustrator updates ago, my drop shadow has been mostly unusable.The first issue was all of my drop shadows would appear rotated 90 degrees.That seems to have been fixed with the last issue, but now the drop shadow causes MAJOR graphical issues, making it almost impossible to see what my image will look like prior to export.

Size change inside group is not working as it has to. If changes in one object is affecting to size and proportion of the others

 The text in the design has disappeared, and I can't get it back. This problem occurred in my cloud files.

that’s it really, totally unusable, which is very difficult

Upon opening a file, the first few actions cannot be undone. I opened up a client’s artwork to resize to print, and I could move things around and add things and then could not redo anything unless I closed it without saving and reopened. After a few edits, I could being to make changes that could be undone but my first actions were still not able to be undone.
