Known issue: Crash on Windows with some NVIDIA GPUs running CUDA in 24.2

We are aware of an issue affecting some users in Premiere Pro, After Effects and Media Encoder version 24.2.  A crash on startup may be experienced for some Windows systems with certain NVIDIA GPUs supporting CUDA.  Some user are also seeing that they cannot enable GPU acceleration for CUDA.  At this time, we do not believe an NVIDIA GPU driver update will resolve the issue since the issue is believed to be in the Adobe codebase.

While we track down the source of this crash, we have decided to pull the 24.2 releases of Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and After Effects from the Creative Cloud Desktop application.  We plan to issue a 24.2.1 patch as soon as the issue is fixed.

This issue affects Premiere Pro, Media Encoder, and After Effects.

@uchihaquynh Thanks very much for reporting this issue! We have tested the problem and we see the same problem you do. We are in conversation with Nvidia about the issue. For now, we suggest you reinstall the previous driver. Specifically, install the Studio driver, version 551.23. You can find this via:

1. Nvidia.com

2. Select Drivers from the top menu bar.

3. Click the Beta and Older Drivers link.

4. From the "Recommended / Beta" popup menu, choose Studio Driver

5. Choose your Nvidia product, o

Hello,
I have installed version 24.2.1 and the applications listed at startup continue to fail.
I have also updated the NVIDIA drivers to the latest version in case it is related to the failure.

I'm likewise still experiencing extremely frequent crashes on 24.2.1 that I did not experience in 24.1. I'd advise Adobe to please look into this more.

Same issue on 24.2.1 Update, still crashing on Hardware Rendering (CUDA) with Nvidia 3000 GPU. This is very concerning as it only happens in Premiere Pro. Non-Adobe apps using CUDA seem to run fine with Hardware Acceleration.
