UPDATE: 10-31-24
This is currently a Known Issues we will be providing updates when we know more.  Thank you for your patience.

MEDIA DOES NOT DISPLAY ON THE TIMELINE ON WINDOWS SYSTEMS

On Windows, if a custom scale factor is set in System > Display, media does not display on the Premiere Pro timeline. We are working to fix this issue in an updated version of Premiere Pro. Two workarounds are available:

  1. In Windows, turn off custom scaling and use one of the standard scaling options, or
  2. In Premiere Pro, turn off GPU-accelerated UI rendering in Preferences > General.

This problem has been fixed internally and will be released with the next public version of Premiere Pro (Pr 25.1). If you don't want to wait for that, you can see the fix in a recent Public Beta build of Pr 25.2 (build 005 or higher). Also, you can turn off custom scaling (115%) in Windows display settings to avoid the problem altogether.

Hi @ArrowPictures - There are known performance issues with updated Nvidia drivers, Can you try rolling back to a 556.x driver version and let us know if that helps your issue?

For what it's worth....  The Beta Version released Monday, 25.1.0 build 56, has the same issues.

And just to make sure, I started an entirely new project with previously unused media in the beta version. Same result.

I have been told by Adobe that this is a known bug that they are working on and told to use version 24 until they fix it. So if you have this problem go back to your old version.

Cheers

@jefshrek,

Thanks for the info. I have 3 monitor options, none of them the ultrawide, but I will test for the Windows advanced scaling problem. There have been issues in the past with the advanced scaling (text boxes do not show). Another time it was the fonts used.

Updated to Premiere Pro 25. When I drag a clip to the timeline, the clip is placed on the timeline, then kinda disappears from the timeline, but it is definately still there. It still displays in the program window. When I draw a box around it to select it in the timeline, the clip becomes visible again, but has strange gaps in the clip. The problem seems to be worse if the clip starts at 00;00;00;00 on the timeline. Very strange. Premiere Pro 24.X still works correclty for me, but any time I open a project in PP25, I can't see the clips in the timeline until I select them with a box.

Penso eu que não teremos de ser nó a resolver problemas, antes da atualização tudo a trabalhar bem depois de atualizar começaram os problemas. Pelo que pagamos pelo programa já a adobe deveria tyer reagido. É inadimissivel este silencio deles.

I am unable to edit videos because the clips disappears in the timeline after dragging them there. The rest of the work area are working except for this part.

Done:

Hi @Kelly_Gouveia LDA8158 - To install version 24 or Premiere Pro, go to the creative cloud desktop app and select the apps section.  You will see a three dots menu in the Premiere Pro box, select those dots and choose "Other Versions" there you will be able to install version 24

They have acknowledged the bug. They are working on a resolution.  First, they have to replicate the problem. Adobe doesn't release software with that kind of a flaw intentionally.  It did not show up during their testing. The developers have to figure out what combination of hardware and software causes the issue. Since the clips are actually there it seems like it has something to do with the display adapter. In any event, I simply reinstalled the previous edition and continued editing with that. It's not like you are stuck without a solution.

When the timeline is scrolled exactly to the beginning (00 second), the items on the timeline flicker and disappear entirely! making work a nightmare... plus it flickers randomly at different points of the timeline (if scrolled to start after 0 second)

I'm on Premiere Pro 2025 latest update, Windows 11 latest update.

No mention of comp.specs.

If an Nvidia driver is installed, make sure it is the Studio driver.

If you are using the game driver: roll back.

CS, exactly.

That's the process... first step is being able to replicate it. Which normally requires very specific data acquisition.

Then they have to figure out, from many sections of thousands of lines of code, which code is involved.

Next, figuring out a correction bit of code for that issue, that doesn't affect any other code anywhere.

It's a bloody hard thing to do.

I'm having this exact issue. Rolling back the game driver did not fix it, and neither does having the studio driver installed. The only way I managed to fix it was rolling back Premiere to 24.6.3, but since I created my project in the newest version that'd mean starting from scratch.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X

GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060

32GB ram, latest Nvidia studio driver installed.

My best guess is, Ui gpu acceleration bug. I unticked Ui gpu acceleration on general option, the timeline appears but it was really choppy. I think it could relate gpu or gpu driver. I rolled back my gpu Nvidia driver from lastest to 555.99 and it still have issue.

My pc specs are

cpu: ryzen 5800x

Gpu: Rtx 4070 ti

Ram: 64gb ddr4
