UPDATE: 10-31-24
This is currently a Known Issues we will be providing updates when we know more.  Thank you for your patience.

MEDIA DOES NOT DISPLAY ON THE TIMELINE ON WINDOWS SYSTEMS

On Windows, if a custom scale factor is set in System > Display, media does not display on the Premiere Pro timeline. We are working to fix this issue in an updated version of Premiere Pro. Two workarounds are available:

  1. In Windows, turn off custom scaling and use one of the standard scaling options, or
  2. In Premiere Pro, turn off GPU-accelerated UI rendering in Preferences > General.

This problem has been fixed internally and will be released with the next public version of Premiere Pro (Pr 25.1). If you don't want to wait for that, you can see the fix in a recent Public Beta build of Pr 25.2 (build 005 or higher). Also, you can turn off custom scaling (115%) in Windows display settings to avoid the problem altogether.

I also just had this exact problem while I just tried to start working on a big project! Clips weren't disappearing from the timeline last time I opened Premiere to edit on this machine. Nvidia drivers/Windows/Premiere fully updated. I also cleared preferences and cache, etc. I had to roll back to version 24.6 for it to finally stop having this problem.

In the public beta, this happened for some users with one build. In that, if you set default scaling in the Preferences to "none", it went away.

You might try that in 25.x.

Correto, mas a linha de apoio é 0 tem uma AI muito má para dar respostas, não dá para abrir um processo de reclamação e felizmente existe uma comunidade de clientes que se entreajudam.

Windows scaling is the problem!

Go to System -> Display -> Scale and layout -> set scale to 100%

But for me is 100% scale on a 2.7K 27" screen too small.. I use 117%

Zooming in the timeline does also the trick. Just zoom or scroll on timeline to the right.

The timeline disappears when you reach the 0:00 timecode in the overview.

You also can simply zoom in the timeline and put your clips at 1min timecode, so you dont reach the 0:00 where everything disappears.

I can confirm that on my system, if I went into the windows 10 system settings and made sure the scale was set to zero the issue resolved in Adobe Premiere.  I was set to 117%. I opened several projects and they worked as expected.

This did not help for my system, however adjusting windows scaling definitely had an impact.  If windows scaling is 100% it works fine.  I've tried larger numbers like 110% and that does not work.  I am going to see if there is a magic number larger than 100 that does work.

I experimented with scaling on Windows 10.  Anything other than 100% on my system generates the same issue.  I tried incremental steps to see if I could find a magic upscale but nothing other than 100% worked.  If I had to use 25 I would set it at 100 and live with the smaller, font, icons -- well everything.  But I can use 24 until the scaling issue is resolved.  100% on my monitors is too small for me at 72 years.

Yes, everything above 100% will cause the error.

I still use my 117% and waiting for a fix.. for now, I simply zoom in the timeline and avoid scrolling at the 0:00 startpoint.

Após a atualização para a versão 25, notei que existe uma situação na timeline que faz desaparecer a sequência quando deslizo para a esquerda. Mesmo aplicando o zoom in ou out, a sequencia só volta a aparecer quando deslizo a timeline para a direita.

Hi @ArrowPictures - Anyone experiencing this issue can you try navigating to your Preferences under General and make sure the checkbox is not selected under "GPU accelerated UI rendering".  Then restart your project.  We are currently not getting reports of this issue in version 25.1

That was the first place I looked when the issue presented itself on my system. It made no difference.  However, scaling in Windows does seem to be the cause. Anything more than 100% for the monitor output(s) creates the problem. If scaling is set to 100 there isn't an issue for me. As I mentioned elsewhere, 100% is too small for my 72 year old eyes. I went back to 115% and will use 24 until a new version solves it.

@CSPVideo,

Thanks for continuing to post on this. I experimented with the scaling issues the other day and could not replicate.

Scaling has been an issue in other situations several versions back. Are you setting the "regular" scaling ("Change the size of text, apps, and other items") or the Advanced scaling settings -> Custom Scaling? The advanced/custom scaling is the one that caused issues in the past, and also changes the regular scaling percent. When changing only the regular scaling, I only have options for 25% steps (100, 125, 150, etc).

My Creative Cloud app just updated the beta to 25.1.0 Build 63.  It does not resolve the issue.  My test media is about 30 jpegs, but that doesn't really seem to matter.  It's the scaling issue from Windows to Adobe Premiere.

Check you Windows scaling settings. If it is more than 100% reduce it. Anything more than 100 causes the problem.

Same issue here. Timeline objects disappear when the horizontal scroll is all the way to the left, at the beginning of the timeline. As soon as the scroll is moved to the right, the elements reappear. When the "GPU accelerated UI rendering" option is disabled, the problem goes away, but the UI refresh rate becomes very slow.

I just disabled custom scaling in Windows, and the problem disappeared. However, I use an external monitor, and without scaling, the experience becomes very poor as I lose workspace.

Are you running with scaling across your monitors, or on one?

Three of my monitors are 100%, my one UHD monitor is at 200%.
