I just finish a 1-hour long project in multicam with any problem at all. The bugs seems to be completly gone, my edition was smooth. Actually now it run much better the video, sometimes with not even a dropped frames.

Thanks Adobe.

---------------------------------

Hi, this is a compilation of the same problem posted by different users (two post are mine, but inside there is more people with the same problem).

The problem is this: Multicam monitor dissapears and only shows the preview, not the multicam

selection. You can see inside every post the glith/bug explained.

We need a solution, editing in multicam is extremly annoying with this bug.

Upvote if you have the same problem.

Ugh, please ignore my typos, I'm tired and annoyed, this keyboard is too damn sensitive, and there is no edit option.

Okay so I updated to the latest studio driver and also downgraded premire to 23.3 (this is still an issue is 23.5 btw) and it seems to be working, not sure which part did it but if you find this post, thats a temporary solution.

I thought converting the footage to a full frame codec fixed the problem and it did.. for one project.. but when I tried it again for another episode it started showing the same glitch, regardless what codec the footage is in.

Going to try this now too.. It's insane we have to downgrade two versions in order to get things working properly (hopefully).

Downgrading back to 23.3 fixed this for me.. It's a stupid solution, but one that works until Adobe fixes it in the newer builds.

Someone will need to attempt to answer at least some of @Todd_Reeder 's questions here if we are going to make any real progress toward a resolution.

Upvoting, although it shouldn't really need upvoting, this is recently broken functionality. Pro-res proxies don't work, not sure if the suggested workaround is to transcode the originals but that's not really a realistic option for me on larger projects. Good to know reverting back to an old version does the trick, hopefully they fix this bug quickly though!

This is happening for me on both mac and Windows.

Hi @Todd_Reeder - not the original poster but also having this problem and appreciate that you're trying to recreate so thought I'd give my setup.

Multicam work area was built up by putting all the tracks on different layers, nesting them and then right click, multicam, enable.

My project settings are:

Screenshot 2023-07-24 205810.png

I can edit for a while using the number keys, if I click on one of the angles to change it manually that's when it breaks for me. Here's how it looks:

Screenshot 2023-07-24 211548.pngHere are my settings at that point from the wrench button:

Screenshot 2023-07-24 211604.png

This is happening for me on both my Windows and Mac. Windows build is 23.5.0 (Build 56). If you need the mac one I can check that later but hopefully this is enough to go off of.

Windows machine is an i9 10850K with an Nvidia 3080, 32gb of ram. All footage is running off of an SSD and everything on the screen is ProRes Low Res proxy.

For me this only currently seems to happen when it's paused and I click on an angle rather than pressing a number on the keyboard. Good luck recreating, hopefully you can work it out! Thanks!

I'm not Todd, but I have a question; what transmit device are you using?

To answer some of Todd's questions:

- I created my multicam using the steps you identified: selected my two clips, right clicked, then selected create multicam. However, after that I opened up the multicam sequence in the sequence panel and added more clips manually, syncing them using the "synchronize clips" tool.

- I used the Camera 1 setting, but I also may have changed audio settings in the multicam sequence

- Here are my project settings:

Screenshot 2023-07-24 at 2.04.10 PM.png- I am not sure what you mean by "using transmit."

As an aside, wiping my prefs and cache did in fact seem to fix this issue, but I had only been working on a fresh install of PP for a matter of hours before the error cropped up so I don't think it should be terribly hard to recreate. Especially reading the folks below that are having the issue across platforms.

This is almost certainly a technical bug rather than user error.  I am using version 23.5.0 (Build 56) on Windows 10, and cannot get the multicam UI to appear for more than a second.  My Program window gets wide when I enable multi-cam as though it were intending to show my program alongside the multiviewer, but ultimately it doesn't show up.  Fiddling with certain things, like enabling/disabling Mercury Transmit, switching a camera, or toggling the track targeting on/off will sometimes display it for a second, before going right back to not showing it as soon as I click any other UI element.

I know what you may be thinking - it's a common for this to happen when the track with the multicam sequence isn't targeted, but as you'll see in the screenshot below, that's not the issue here.  I sincerely hope this bug can be resolved, since it is severely affecting my professional workflow.

To reproduce this bug, all you need to do is attempt to switch on the multi-camera view with your program monitor.  This has now happened across multiple projects with different footage.

OK, I attempted to switch on the Multi-camera view per your instructions, and I even turned off all track targeting. Win11, PP 23.5

What GPU are you running? Maybe that's the issue, or maybe a Windows 10 thing?  I've got the Nvidia GTX 1080

I'm running a GTX 1070!

🙂

You can install a newer or different Studio driver from nVidia, I have 536.40 installed. I haven't had any problems with your issue. I do a clean install each time and only install the Video and Audio drivers. None of the other stuff.

You can only try the basics, since not a lot of others are coming up with this problem. Worst offenders have always been HUD and utilities the overlays some kind of message or statistics on screen.

And depending on how far you want to go, you can nuke the adobe software and reinstall using this:

Be sure to run the Adobe Cleaner after you uninstall the programs and before you re-install them:
Also, reboot your computer between steps even if you are not asked to...

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Backup any settings files you may want first as this cleans them.
