If you have Great Vibes Regular installed in the Creative Cloud, does it show up in other Adobe appliations like Illustrator or Photoshop? It works for me in InDesign.

You should be able to save your InDesign 2024 file to a file readable in InDesign 2022 by save it as an IDML file: File > Save As > InDesign CS4 or Later [IDML]. Then open the IDML file in InDesign 2022.

Do you have Application Frame turned on? When I turn that on my windows always reopen at the same size. I don't turn it off, so if that's what you do, you'll have to ask those who work that way. That's not the way the Content Collector tool works. Duplicating a content collected set of files cannot create new independent set of links.

A some easier way of removing embedded images is to select them in the LInks panel, then right-click on the link(s) and choose Copy Links to... and pick a location on your drive. Then open the image(s) in Photoshop where the profiles can be added.

@derek is correct. Video cannot be embedded directly in a PDF file (it was possible in the distant past in some cases).

You can also edit the text flow using the InDesign Story Editor. I just shows the text so you can see the text that's hiding. Click in your story, then choose Edit > Edit in Story Editor.

The Find/Change dialog box > Object tab lets you search and replace frames but not lines. So it can't be done natively in InDesign. Maybe someone has (or could) write a script to do that.

I'm assuming you and your colleage have been using an Cloud Document. Up until InDesign 19.4, the beta Cloud Document feature was ONLY available in InDesign Beta versions. You and your teammeate should now to using the RELEASE version of InDesign 19.4 which is now available in all localities: The newest beta version of InDesign is being used to test opening PDF files into InDesign.

Adobe Illustrator would be a much better choice for turning an image into vector. It's not something that can be done in InDesign as @James Gifford—NitroPress points out.

EPS is a very old graphic format. You said, "When attempting to open an EPS file using InDesign,..." but InDesign cannot OPEN an EPS. It can only PLACE an EPS file.

The Adobe InDesign prelease team announced today May 7, 2024 that the Cloud Documents feature is now available for all localities. When you update to InDesign 19.4, and youj're having problems getting it to work: (1) Try restoring InDesign preferences. he keyboard shortcut on launch technique explained in the next section works for all versions, but is difficult for some to accomplish because of the precise timing required. InDesign 19.3 and later has introduced a new feature that will allow you to reset preferences from within the program. Save and close all open files. Open Edit > Preferences > General (Windows) or InDesign > Preferences > General (Mac.) Click Reset Preferences on Quit. Close and then restart InDesign. (2) The Cloud Document feature will be available on the 2nd launch.

Please provide a screen capture of the spread as it appears in InDesign, and another one showing how the spread looks in the PDF. What exact content is on that page. Does it include content placed from another application. If so, which application(s)

Cloud Documents is definitely working in the US in Sonoma on a Mac. I've been using it and posting about it for the last week since it's been available. (1) Where are you located (there could be a locality not yet supported)? (2) To see the Save Cloud Document option, you have to open InDesign 19.4, then quit and it should be available on the second launch; (3) Make sure you have updated to the lastest version of Sonoma (current version 14.4.1). Older Sonoma versions can cause problems.

Your printer is living 2 or 3 decades in the past. Commercial printers these days accept PDF files which have many advantages. InDesign cannot import Pages text. You should be able to export a Word-formatted file in Pages which InDesign may be able to read.

The two features — Optical Margin Alignment in InDesign and hanging punctuation in Illustrator were developed by two different application engineering teams at different times. As to why the feature was created, I'm attaching a handout I use for my InDesign class in the Graphic Design program at UC Berkeley Extension every semester. My information on Optical Margin Alignment is largely derived from an excellent on-line class on LinkedIn Learning by Nigel French, "InDesign: Typography, Part 2". Nigel's typography classes are the most insightful I've found.

You're using the terminology incorrectly. InDesign has a feature called Optical Margin Alignment which can be activated in the Story panel (Type > Story) InDesign does not have a "hanging punctuation" feature but Illustrator does, and it works differently that InDesign's Optical Margin Alignment. Please describe what you are trying to do more clearly. Are you using Optical Margin Alignment?
