Yup, here's an example of the corner of one of the images, both the transparent image and one with a black background added for visibility. The top one is the original, the middle is with defringe at 1px, the bottom is defringe at 5px. The middle and bottom ones are exactly the same despite the change in settings.

Actually took some pics today with deliberate reflections in glass window. Then tried the remove reflections on a couple of images - total failure! But on another one - it worked. So, looks like a bit of a hit and miss. Looks like have to wait for better updates

Assuming you have the correct system specs and this is happening when you try and open any file (it's not just one corrupt one), it might be worth using the Adobe Cleaner Tool to remove all of the application and do a clean install. https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

When you are sending data to Adobe servers (for Firefly-processing) that is data on Adobe servers, so guess what? Adobe has to try to make sure they are not involved in illegal activities and therefore needs to check.
That the check is extremely »sensitive« is another issue and hopefully it will be addressed sometime, but who knows?
Did you not figure out a work-around (cover up the person/s in the image with a Solid Color Layer temporarily for example before expanding)?

Select the layers and use Ctrl , (coma) to toggle on and off. (I hate right click menus.)
It won't toggle a mix of one and off layers. It would turn all of the selected layers ether on or off the first time you use the shortcut.

Just for future reference, another way to change that setting is to go into Photoshop Preferences, and in the Tools settings, enable Zoom Resizes Windows.
It’s the same setting because if you change that or Resize Windows to Fit in the Zoom tool options bar, it changes in both places.

Thanks for the details. I don't know the full details, since this is not something from my team, but I'm not sure we're working with Kakadu. I've logged a ticket and we'll see what more we can find out.

Hi @BrettN
Thank you for your reply.
That was/is exactly my assumption (I'm not the person who asked the question - I was merely recreating a possible scenario). Unfortunately, the questioner has still not made his file available. Because only then would it be possible to find and suggest a real solution - one that really fits the problem.
I am still relatively sure that the cause of this ‘misbehaviour’ in the questioner's file is an unfavourable setting in the effects. Perhaps he/she will get back to me in this thread. Perhaps his/her ‘problem’ has already been solved in the meantime.

The keyboard shortcut is simply the bracket keys (no modifiers): [ to go left, ] to go right
Just for fun: the period (.) and comma (,) keys will cycle through the gradient presets

I see the behavior you are talking about and verified it's been around since the beginning (we first added the option to "Convert Warp Anchor Point" in PS2022). I'll let the team know.

Yes, it got much better, but the jagged edges of the stroke are still there, compared to the ones in the background. I changed the angle of the brush, tried different values and chose the most optimal one

Shift+CTRL+Z is the Redo command. You can use this only after you have already undone (CTRL+Z) an action. This is used to "undo" an undo. Check your History panel to verify there are greyed out history states below your currently selected state. Use this shortcut to navigate those steps.
If the Remove Tool stops working until you restart the application, the most likely cause is the system running out of memory for Photoshop. Closing and reopening the application clears out the temporary memory Photoshop has been holding on to, which can accumulate over time as you use memory intensive features. Check your current Performance settings in the Photoshop Preferences and make sure that you have plenty of free hard drive which is much greater than that setting (2 to 3 times is a decent rule of thumb, but more is always better). You can also check Task Manager to see what the current memory usage is.
Remove Background isn't a generative AI tool. It is just a Quick Action, which is a single button press to perform multiple steps. In this case it performs: Select > Subject, Inverse Selection, and applies a layer mask. None of this creates with AI and would thus not trigger Community Guideline messaging. Are you using some other feature instead? Like Generate Background? Would you be able to post a screen shot of what you are trying to use the generative function on so understand why it might report an issue?

This is working on my end as well.
Try switching back to All Classes and then clicking each of the buttons at the top on and then off to see how things change. Maybe something is stuck in a weird state be we can't see it.
Also, check the More Fonts section. It has additional filters on the left column, do these work?

First of all, Thank you for your efforts to add features that help us. I hope that if there is a feature that can give the AI an image to put in a specific place in another image that could be amazing with some options to tweak between it and also, enable all the features through the live co-editing will be unique than other apps.
What do you mean specifically?
Do you mean relighting, perspectival changes, …?

Hi Brett! Thanks for your response! I had my tooltips turned off, so I didn't see this little gem. The omnihaul tool that I mention in Modo gets around the modifier limition by using left, right, and middle clicks to affect user specified properties. This seems like it would be ideal. Thanks again for you response, and bringing this to my attention!

Were you definitely trying to import them as brushes (.abr) and not another type of preset (shape, gradient, pattern, style). I hate actually installing presets, because you lose control of the process. Much better to download the files and place them in the appropriate preset folder. In fact I go a step further, and keep then in a (Windows) My Documents folder, and place a shortcut to that folder in the preset folder. This keeps them safe from major update issues (we get a lot of posts fropm people who have lost the brush presets after an update) and makes it easier to share one set of presets between the Release and Beta versions.

While we do have controls to hide the New Layer option in menus, there is no way to customize which buttons appear in panels such as Layers. If you are missing these and resetting preferences (which may cause this sort of behavior through corruption) doesn't help, I'd guess you are on a controlled machine. You mention working with IT, so I'm guessing you are in a corporate, government, or educational environment. This feature may have been taken away at some higher level and, if that is the case, this may not be something we would be able to help you with from this end.

To be clear, you are not seeing ether tool icon? Text on a path. Text inside a shape or enclosed path?
I am trying to think of conditions that might cause that, but it sounds broken to me. As you can see, mine is working and I am also use 26.3 and the same Windows version. If you have not taken Brett's advice and reset Preferences, which is always a pain, you could try resetting All Tools which would be less disruptive.

The rule of thumb is that if disabling the GPU and related features helps address an issue, the first thing you should do is update your video card drivers. Visit your manufacturer's website, download the latest compatible with your device, and install. Then retry Photoshop.

It'd a real bummer to have to rely on CC fonts to upkeep projects because of a bug in the program, I'm not the only on that feels that way. CC fonts are a great convience, but for those of us that work long term... foundries don't ask for their licenses back from individuals that already own them. I tried the CC Tarzana font and had the same issue. All of the Tarzana font files I have are OTF (opentype) and they work fine in other apps. I managed to resolve the issue on my end by redefining the font styles. Thanks for your help.
