When I logged in these forums earlier today, I experienced what I think may be a curious variant of the split personality syndrome. In Firefox 3.6.15 under Mac OS 10.6.6 I used my bookmark to this particular forum. When I came in, the "Welcome Claudio González" next to my new avatar was there as usual below the Forums title. But in the list of threads, there was a recent one initiated by me, in which my avatar was fine, but my name had some garbage added at the end. I therefore opened the thread, and there I appeared with my new avatar, the correct number of my posts and and my correct registration date, but with the same wrong name. I then opened my profile and, to my surprise, there was no photo, no history, no avatar, no recent activity, nothing. Everything was blank.Suspecting a possible Firefox problem, I closed Firefox without attempting to correct the problem, and moved to my Win 7 machine. Why Does Adobe have such terrible customer service? I am so suprised and disappointed to learn this. I have submit several requests for someone to call me back , via their customer service page. Nobody ever calls me back. I try calling them EVERY SINGLE DAY- Nobody answers the phone... not even after 30 minutes of waiting ! I purchased the teacher version of the CS5 package and submit my identification as requested. They keep sending me emails to inform they will cancel my order if they dont receive the ID. But i have already submit it ! So i am trying to get through to someone so i can give them the case number and ask them to verify that i have submit the ID ! Surely , this is not the job of the customer. Surely , for software as expensive as Adobe' packages , they should have a decent customer service support line where you are guaranteed to get through to a person who can help???? Apparently not , apparently this is too much to ask Why is Adobe customer service  so terrible? A

Several months ago I upgraded my Windows 98 Ed2 operating system to XP (Now have V3).  The Adobe Reader version 4.0 was brought over from the old system to the new and I cannot now uninstall this old version.  The problem is that a new version will not replace the older one as well.  When I attempt to uninstall the old version it tells me that all of the elements could not be removed and that they need to be done in another manner (I presume by manually removing them off the hard drive).  This same thing happend with the Norton Anti-virus program I did not uninstall prior to the operating system conversion.  In that instance I contacted Norton support and they went into the computer from there location using an exe. driver and successfully removed it without any problem.  I contacted Adobe support in a similar manner (chatroom) and the only thing that "Malahov" could offer was to consult the forum "since the reader download was free."  Here I am, can

I just noticed this morning that my acct said I've had 2 posts (now it will probably say a couple more).   I've  had more than that and under Your Stuff it only  shows today's posts.   I've gone to History>Show Entire History and  it has only today's posts. Also, I noticed I now have some numbers and letters after my screen name.I posted a question about this in this DW forum and was told to post this here and someone would fix it.Thank you.

G'dayCan someone pls look into why:a) my account name seems to have changed to "Adam Cameron.-SXdoEh" (the "-SXdoEh" is not my doing... it just appeared a coupla days ago);b) when I login in using the same credentials I have always used, I login to the account I am currently posting from, just "Adam Cameron."As I mentioned, the change to (a) occurred a few days ago... My old Windows XP PC crashed (please don't laugh).  My version of Illustrator did not work on Windows 7 so I had to upgrade it. Now I'm trying to install my fonts.  I have the Bickham Script MM.  I've searched this board and the internet to get the install instructions.  My old pc was backed up, and I have the .mmm .pfb and .pfm files.  When I right click on the .pfm file and choose install, I get an error message: "the file <file name> does not appear to be a valid font".  I close this dialog box then a box pops up that says it's installing the font with a progress bar.  Looks like it's doing something, but when I go to the fonts folder, it's not there.  I am trying to do wedding invitations and I urgently need this font, as the bride has approved them from designs on my old PC.  Any ideas?

Upon completion of a captiva presentation, can the project be saved in a file format that can be accessed by all employees?  Are Adobe captiva licenses required for all employees to view a captiva file that I created?

Received an email from an Adobe Partner. See message below:I am not sure who to contact to get help with this issue, but we are unable to reply to or post new content to the Adobe Forums. (http://forums.adobe.com). We can enter the text for the topic, but the field to enter the body of the content is read only. We can't click in it or type in it.  This is when creating a new discussion, or responding to an existing thread.  When creating a private message, We can type in the title and content, but when we submit, it deletes all the content and says that the body can't be empty.In each of these cases, we have tried it on multiple machines, with multiple accounts.  Both Windows/Mac, XP/Windows 7, Internet Explorer/Firefox/Chrome.  Same results in every case.  We have also ensured that browser add-ons like AdBlock are not installed.We would appreciate some direction on how to resolve this issue.Thanks,Please advise what's causing this. I have an unusual problem that I cannot explain. I am using windows 7 64bit (previously when this problem started, I was using Vista 64 bit)Whenever I switch sites in Dreamweaver CS5 v 11.0 Build 4964, I get disconnected from my remote server. I have to wait a while before it gets reconnected, usually about 10 minutes, after I switch back to another site.I have been using DW since V 2.0 and I love it still. This is a problem that causes a work stoppage for me and I need to know if anyone else has the same problem and if there is a fix for this?Listed below are some of the things that I have tried to fix this problem.Changed my account information on the remote server.Changed my username on the remote server.Wiped my account clean and set up a totally new account on the remote server.Reinstalled DW after uninstalling completely.Does anyone know what can cause this?Afitperson2

While I know this is the wrong forum for this post, I flamed Adobe customer support here so...I was contacted today by the Customer Support Supervisor and while I explained I only wanted to return the item they sent me in error and get my money back, he insisted that I accept the book they sent me, my money back and the item I had ordered in the first place. While we got off to a rocky start, they (Adobe Customer Support) really did go above and beyond today to make me happy and I am greatful.  Thanks Adobe. 

I noticed a while back that my name had gained a few extra characters, but I could still post so did not think much about it.  Yesterday I discovered that I had lost the extra characters to my name but my new persona had only registered on 12 February.Queries led me here.  I have tried the steps suggested by Jochem van Dieten, but the only effect that this has had is that I now find it almost impossible to log on at all.My original identity has become Alan Craven-fdKGjz - I joined on Aug 11 2002.My new identity is Alan Craven - joined on Feb 12 2011.Thanks for anything you can do to sort this.

As someone who has used Adobe products for many years, I recently found that Adobe has changed their Transfer of License policies.Individuals are now limited to four (4) Transfers of License in their LIFETIMES!  Adobe also requires a copy of a photo i.d. for each transfer! You also need to provide original proof of purchase!1.) I recently upgraded to the Creative Suite from my individual Adobe products. Naturally, I want to transfer the licenses on my stand-alone software.2.) As a self-employed designer, the only "photo i.d." that I possess is my driver's license. I am reluctant to give out my driver's license number to ANYONE, much less a software vendor. I should note that I have been a registered Adobe customer since Photoshop was at version 3, and all of my software is registered and appears on my Adobe account.3.) I don't have proof of purchase for software I bought 5 years ago. Silly me: I would expect that registering my newly purchased products with Adobe would suffice.4.)

Hi,When I convert videos, e.g. Youtube video, using Roxio Copy & Convert, 'something' keeps creating Flv files during the process. Often it screws up the whole work. Roxio soft does not support Flv. I do know for sure it is being done by Adobe Air. The AIR pop-up windows popped up while I was converting the videos and ever since nothing is going well. I deleted Adobe Media Player but it didn't stip either Flv creation or screwing the conversion.I often see Flv files that have nothing to do with the videos I am converting. I don't even know where they came from. I don't even know what Air does and want to uninstall it. But, I read somewhere it has something to do with Flash or others. The situation is totally annoying.Would anyone know how to stop this?Thanks a lot for your help.

I recently ordered CS-5 and Lightroom 3, while doing so the sales rep suggested I would like the CS-5 classroom in a book and so I added that to my order. My package arrived promptly but with the Photoshop Lightroom three book instead of the book I ordered. No problem, I called the number for issuing an RMA that was right on my receipt. Hi All,We are using SVG to use graphics elements in web page for our product. The web page contains HTML+SVG elements.If we use an HTML Image element in our web page display and if we draw or configure SVG elements like rectangle or circle over the image element, then on viewing it in browser, the html image element overlaps the SVG elements and they get hidden behind the image.Please help us in resolving this issue.This scenarios works fine if we use browser IE7 in windows XP machine.But on using IE7 in windows 2003 server machine, the problem is faced.We have tried all possible and valid IE settings and properties to make the display work.
