I've been a photoshop user for years (since V3) and I work with photoshop every day (except my day off) and I have several things that really aggravate me about the version CS4. Arrange DocumentsWhich ever one of the brilliant little kids at Adobe thought this one up should have it crammed up their butt sideways and wrapped in barbed wire!   The CS3 functionality was fine and Adobe didn't even give me a "if you like the document arrangement of CS3, please click here".  I've clicked the available Arrange Document drop down box to select float all in windows... that works but it doesn't stay that way.  Also, when I place on document next to another, they merge.  Bummer.Show all Menu ItemsAgain, Adobe's brilliant little kids must have been at one of Hugh Hefner's martini blanket parties thinking of shortcuts to get to "home plate".   Most professionals I know with Photoshop use at least 2 monitors.   I use two 21 inchers set side by side - one

I have tried to change my screen name from curt y to Curt Y in Your Account/Account Information.  Says name is unavailable.  Yet a search shows no hits for it.  Is there some other thing I am missing?Had the same problem when we switched to new forum.  Old name was unavailable.How many points do you have to surrender to get some of The Wine_Snob's magic name changing Jive dust?

If I am in the Premiere Pro forum, and I search for a term, it should be understood that I only want to search in the Premiere Pro forum.  I shouldn't have to do a search, click "more options," scroll down to "Premiere Pro," and then search again.  It's an unnecessary waste of time.  Could this be changed?J. I start by apologizing if the answer to this question is well known, but I have never used a newsreader myself.A large number of the people posting in the forums in Spanish prior to this new version of the forums did it in the ex Macromedia side, where almost everyone used newsreaders. Almost all of them stopped participating in the forums when newsreader access became unavailable.Quite recently, some of them began coming back, but their profiles show them all as "Newsreader_User". Is there an easy way for them to recover their ancient IDs/screen names?

Starting today at some indeterminate time, I have been logged out of the forums in less that one hour periods. Firefox/Mac, Safari/Vista, Explorer/Vista.

I have a big problem. Last year I bought a CS4 Design Premium package for the PC. However, I am switching systems to Apple (iMac) in a month and my CS4 for the PC won't work on an Apple Mac system. Buying new photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign is more expensive than I can afford. Is there a way to change or upgrade from PC to Mac? I hope anyone can help me.Kind regardsMarjolein

So I've discovered a glitch with the forums that I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing...If you copy anything from the posting window while creating a new discussion or if you paste anything into this window, it causes a message to be displayed saying "are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Your content will not be saved." when you press the Post Message button.I have a habit of hitting select all and copy when I'm making posts just incase anything goes wrong. If I do that on these forums, I cannot post and loose all of my info.If I try to paste in a link from the clipboard, the same thing happens.I thought this is something quite serious that I should bring to everyone's attention.This happens in both IE 8 and Firefox 3.5.7

Hi all,I have been in contact with Adobe Tech Support since the beginning of November when I started receiving a message "licensing stopped working." I spent hours and hours calling tech support, with no solution. Often times my calls were hung up in transition. More than a few times, I was promised a call back "in ten minutes," or "in two hours," but calls were either never returned, or returned another day when I was at work (even though I told them I would not be available on that day). I tried all remedies they suggested, but they did not solve the problem. Finally they told me to send them a log file, which I did in the end of November. They said they would call me back in a few hours -- and it has been almost two months. I requested the result of log analysis a few times via Portal, but no reply. Meanwhile, I was unable to use my CS3 (I was using CS4 trial version for a while, but I was not even able to use it after performing one 'remedy' a tech support suggested). Yesterday I s

Adobe announced the following:A security vulnerability was identified in one of the web service calls. We will be coordinating a patch to address this issue in January once everyone is back from the holiday break. As an interim measure, we will be disabling web services in order to prevent anyone from taking advantage of this security vulnerability. This change goes into effect today shortly after 10pm Pacific time.This today 10 PM Pacific time is approximately 12 hours ago. As of then all attempts to access the webservices will result in a 403 error for the REST services and a 404 for the SOAP services.

Does anyone know if it is possible to set  up a document created in Adobe Acrobat as a PDF document with bookmarks so that when someone opens the document the bookmark panel will stay open and they will see it immediately?I would really appreciate any help you can give me on this.

Perhaps this has been asked and answered before and I missed it.Sometimes when a post is edited the time stamp is not changed.  At other times the edit creates a new time stamp, although its order in the thread is not changed. Is there any rhyme or reason for this, or is it just another Jive programing feature, like the damm carriage return after 30 characters on first line?

Am I missing something?  Why is it, for example, I'm in the Lightroom forums and click Search Forums the default is to search all forums?  Shouldn't the default be to search the LR forum?Additionally the "Like This" column on the right of the forum post lists a post like the one I'm looking at, except for the fact I'm concerned about this problem in LR, not WebX or some other software I know nor care about.  It should be "Like This in This Forum".  It seems to me that an extremely small percentage of people looking for a similar problem to what they are dealing with would want to find that same issue in totally non related software.Sincerely,Patrick

Is it legal if you buy a copy of adobe software in ebay? If a software box is not plastic closed, even if its marked as new, can be a problem because of the serial number? I always need the invoice to show to the surveyor or not? I dont know if this is the apropriate forum to talk about this. Best regards

Okay, so I downloaded Premiere Elements and eagerly installed it. Expected some minor issues with vst plugs but nothing that couldn't be overcome. No such luck. Premiere gets stuck when the scan arrives at the ImageLine FL Studio 9 dll (Rewire, I suppose) and crashes immediately after giving some issues with Native Instruments before that. I run a quite extensive Virtual Studio with around 12Gig in the VST folder alone and changing this is not an option. (paths!)After contacting the technical help desk in Holland it is clear Premiere offers no solution to this problem. And it seems so logical to have an opportunity to instruct Premiere NOT to scan for (additional) VST's or to exclude certain folders.One solution I found is to move the VST folder to another partition when I decide to do some work on video. On the other hand: that's 12Gig everytime and it shouldn't be nescecary. Solutions anyone?Maybe Adobe would do well to check in to this. http://soundcloud.com/synopsis-decay

It's really pissing me off that Adobe chooses to use a forum frontend that does not support the Opera browser. Makes me have to go out of my save habitat, log all in again with a forgotten password through a browser I don't like, for no apparent reason because there's plenty of forums out there that don't have fanboy browser issues.Here's the fun thing. Ever wonder how Opera got magically installed on your OSX Mac? Because from Creative Suite 3 and up, it is included with the Adobe software.This isn't right, Adobe guys. You should either pay Jive Software a bunch of money to support Opera, or switch to other forum software that has no browser issues. There's plenty of free ones.

As reported in another thread, I think that the reason for being logged out every time I close my browser is a problem with my Adobe ID. My current ID is NOT my email address, but when I try to log in, I am prompted with my address, not with my ID. And I cannot log in using my address, because this is not paired with my password, while my ID is.In an attempt to solve this problem, I decided changing my email address to a new one. I went to Your account in the top line, and followed all the steps to change my email address -which I was warned would change my Adobe ID, just what I wanted. I even checked the box indicating that I wanted to use my email address as my ID.Well, my email address was duly changed, but my Adobe ID was not: I still had to log in using my non email address Adobe ID. My question consists in knowing if i can use this software with commercial use in mind ex: architecture imaging. It says home edition in the box. Or does this means that its optimized for the causal home user? Like Windows XP Home edition vs Professional? Thank you

Hello, every time i save my work in dreamweaver i notice that the line in my code double and sometimes tripple... i.e. befor i save it i will have 256 lines of code and after i save it i will have 800 plus and it breaks up all my lines of code.... how do i fix this??thanks

Trying to think the best way to word this.Ok so I have owned the Adobe CS4 Web Premium collection for about 8 months now and I have been using it on my PC.  But I have just purchased an iMac and I was wondering about the following:- Would it be best to run my Adobe products through either BootCamp, Parallels, or Fusion on my Mac?- Since I have purchased CS4 for my PC would Adobe be able to provide me with a Mac compatible version?- Does Adobe allow for exchanges? My PC version for a Mac compatible one?Some Help would be greatly appreciated.
