Using the Community

Well, it looks like the thread on moderation was locked?  Not sure why and I didn't see any comment related to locking it.  I believe that there might have been a typo on John Joslin's email address.  I believe it should read: [personal email addrressed removed]   Can the Admins please resend to that email address and see if it arrives without being bounced?[Please dont put personal email addresses in a public forum.  PM them if necessary - Edited by Curt Wrigley]

How can I mark a question as answered when I've managed to determine the solution myself and posted it as a reply to my own question? I marked the "My Question is Answered" checkbox, but it was ignored when I submitted my reply. (I am the only one to have posted to the thread).

I recently upgraded from CS2 to CS4.  How do I transfer the actions I created in CS2 to CS4?  I use a mac.

I am desesperate to understand how quite basic functions (just as one of many examples: how can I paste text, that I have formatted in MS Word and want to paste into a Forum Post-Entry?) can be done with the primitive and awful Text Editor used to enter/edit Forum Entries. Notice, that like many other Adobe users, I am not familiar at all with HTML and it is therefore a description of the badly named "Full Editor" that I am looking for.Where can I find a User-Guide for this Text Editor?My recommendation to Adobe: exercise enough  brute pressure on the developers of this primitive Text Editor to force them to provide something more reasonable, more powerful and more intuitive.

Okay, I know this JUST happened. The PS Lounge moved to: http://forums.adobe.com/community/general/loungeNow I have the old location Bookmarked. It is no longer under the PS forums list. It has already been moved. When I go to the breadcrumb trail it is listed in the General Forum:But when I go to the General Forum on the main forum page it is not listed there:So is this going to be added to the main forum page? Seems to be the theme of these Jive jiving forums...Used to have to log in once a day... now it's definitely twice and maybe even thrice. And of course, you're in and you're browsing and whammo you're out. The worst is the 'OUT' when you're submitting a post..."When will they ever learn... oh, when will they ever learn?"

My photos were automatically downloaded to the above mentioned sight and although I can see the photo's stored a registration message pops up and I am not able to access them, the photo's were also automatically deleted from my camera. I am aware that Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2 is no longer available and have tried to download an updated trial version but this appears to taking forever and a virus message keeps appearing. If this Photoshop is unavailable why was it still available for my photo's to disappear into?

I am like many other am confused about Flash and Flex.  What confuses me is how many or want tools do I need to achieve my target application.Here is what I am trying to do:We have lots of log information (syslogs, database logs...etc) which is in CSV format.  I need to present this information to key management about the activiites from the logs in Visual format but still has dynamic links.  For the management sake, I need this application to be cross platform (Windows, MacOSX, Linux).What tool do I need to use Flash, Flex or (something else like Java)?If it is Flash or Flex, then how much would it cost?Thank you in advance for any help.K

Hello.I instaled Adobe vreative suit on Wondoes XP with no problems.Then i moved to windows 7. Now wehen i try to instal Adobe Creative Suit the language box in instalation windows is grey and i can't choose english language. Apprently all Mozilla product's using the new Gecko engine 1.9.1 and above (which includes Seamonkey 2).  IT apparently is having a Problem with Adobe's threading systemRegardless of what you set on there is no threading in the Adobe Forums. so as you've read from thge title, i downloaded adobe flash cs4 for a 30 day trial, and after only 3-4 hours, it expired. when i double click on it on my desktop it simply says licensing for this product has expired.

I just upgraded my laptop's OS from Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 32-bit. When I tried to install Adobe Design Premium CS4 Student Edition back on my laptop, it just doesn't seems to be installing anything. And after an hour or so, it just pop up a window stating that the installation failed with an Error Code 1620. I tried the installation for over 6 times since yesterday till now!Back to the time when I used Vista, I had to create a new folder (eg. Adobe CS4) to install the software there (in that folder) and that was when it finally installed the software for me. Of course, I met the neccesary system requirements even before buying the product.And now, even when I tried the same technique, it just won't work. I followed all the steps stated (such as restarting my laptop etc) and it just won't work! And according to the reviews on Windows 7, many people has no problem with the compatibility issue of CS4 and their copy of Windows 7.Please save me if you have any idea on what's going on wi

I am going to upgrade to one of the new 27  inch iMacs. I use CS4 Premium Design Suite, PS, IL, ID and a little bit of DW.  Does anyone have a comment or thought on any real benefit to a Quad Core processor? Do any of these apps support the multi threading that makes use of quad core technology?  The little bit of research I have found on the internet suggests that there is not any significant performance improvement with the current software such as CS3 and CS4. The exceptions seem (and only seem) to be with some CAD applications and high end video editing.  Any input or factual data would be greatly appreciated.Floyd

I called 800-642-3623 for Flex support yesterday (10/22).  I went through the usual endless questions at the first level before I was finally "moved up" to the next level.  The gentleman, and he was polite, mentioned that if I get disconnected that I can directly call support at 800-642-3623.  I mentioned that is the number I called when I got him.Be that as it may, the next level had me repeat the basic information again.  And then I was told that Adobe no longer supports Flex from the support center.  Email was the only way they would help with the product.So my question becomes is Flex going to be dropped?  Is Adobe going to go down?
