Which processor, which will allow at least 128 GB RAM will give the best performance in After Effects?What about the Xeon W-2155 vs the i9-7900X vs the i7-7820X?Would the Xeon W-2155 have the lowest heat when under load (it seems it might from the puget systems thermal image) and would that mean less fan noise and maybe greater reliability, and maybe more time at a high turbo speed? The Xeon also seems to support more RAM (eg. one site allows it to be configured ot 256 GB. The intel site says it actually supports up to 512 GB). While it's more expensive than the other 2, the advantages could be it may be more reliable, less noisy. Maybe running cost (electric) could be lower?What about speed comparisons between all 3?What are your thoughts on all 3 or other processors (that support 128 GB RAM) for After Effects work etc.?

Hello everyone, I'm starting a Youtube channel, and will be doing video editing (1080p 60fps with possibly some 4K), using Premiere Pro and After Effects. I plan to shoot with a Panasonic Lumix G7. I'm considering which laptop to purchase. I have included my budget, the desired specs, and the products that I am considering. I am upconverting sd to hd upon capture...and have the pillarbox option ticked but it captures anamorphic no matter what...I tried ticking anamorphic to see if it then will capture pillarbox---figured it was good bm logic. I just upgraded my computer to an i7 7820x to speed up editing and upgraded to the latest version of Premiere Pro.Upon opening it for the first time, when the Adobe intro video starts, I get a BSOD right away with a general "WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR" and the computer restarts.When opening a project, everything seems to be working fine, except the tiltler: every single time I adjust the properties of a title (shadow, transparency, size, etc) I get a blue screen of death.I tried everything: clean re-installation of windows, different drivers, older versions of GPU drivers. The computer always crashes on adjusting titles.I also tried gaming like crazy (to put the system under intense stress) and everything works fine, so I think it's not a computer issue but a problem with Premiere Pro.Now I'm stuck and I cannot proceed with my work.My configuration is as follows:Intel i7 7820xGigabyte X299 UD432Gb ram1Tb M.2 SSDNvidia GTX 980 TiLatest version of Premiere Pro as of 13 august 2017Thanks.

As above, I've tried everything, updating GPU, 1080 ti, updating premiere, adding supported cards text file to folder, and still always has the gpu acceleration feature greyed out in render "not available". Any help would be tremendously appreciated as this is affecting my career lol.

Hello, I have to renew my pc soon.Currently equipped with a 6700k 1080gtx HDD4To 32gb Ram 2400mhz.I have mounted projects (5 hours rush, for clip max 10min) of 4k Prores 4444 XQ Arri and 5k R3D I thought a config like that 7940x motherboard ASUS about 400 dollars, two SSD 970 Pro of 500 go each for the rush and a small 860 evo 250go for the bone. I'm coming from PP on osx with a 12 core mac pro and a raid with 4 disks pushing 300 MB/s.Prores performance was butter smooth, 4K raw playback and editing was possible without issues.Now I switched platforms to a much more modern system but scrubbing and overal timline performance is far from satisfying... I just don't get what's wrong.The playhead from the timeline is sluggish when scrubbing, I don't see all the frames, it constantly skips frames giving a choppy preview when scrubbing (with DNX footage). There is also a lot of lag between the mouse pointer itself and the playhead line.Playback has no issues so far. It improves slightly when minimizing the timeline tracks to the min height.But is this a bug? Hello- would love some advice as I am researching my spec requirements for a custom PC build.I work mainly with inDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop. A single project requires that I utilise all these programs, and for my work to flow I need to have them all open at the same time. I also work with some pretty large files, do a lot of research during the projects running 2 or 3 browsers with 40+ tabs open, play music etc.Just to make things interesting I would also like to be able to do video editing and effects in the near future so it would be great to future proof if possible...I'm looking at either an Intel i7 8086k limited edition 6 core at 4Ghz (5Ghz turbo) or possibly the intel Core X Series i9 7900X 10 Core 3.3Ghz (4.3Ghz Turbo)I can find loads of speed tests that tell you which would be the best option (more cores or more speed) for each individual Adobe program you may use (whether they are even capable of utilising more cores obviously) but I can't find anything that tells me

Hi friends,I am having issues with really slow rendering in after effects and playback in both After Effects in Premier pro. In premier pro I thought it was the fact I am not using an edit ready codec (currently using GH5s 10bit 422 200mbs & 400mbs files), however I am now having issues with rendering in after effects a project that I also rendered a year ago with a far less powerful machine, its taking over 10 hours to render, compared to about 3 hours on the machine a year ago. Current Machine Specs:AMB Ryzen 7 1800X Eight Core 3.60 Ghz32GB RAMGTX 1080Ti 11 GB GPUFast SSD & nvme SSDsI have enabled the GPU for rendering in both programs, however am not 100% confident that there isn't a little setting that I am yet to enable, as I feel the performance I am getting is quite bad for the above specs. Good morning allFor the past months i have been working with 4K sdr and hdr footage. I work for a digital distributor and all the assets I work with comes from Studios. My job consist in mixing some footage from different films to create our own promotional content, a kind of monthly agenda with SDR content. We use to have problems with the renders on AP and AE: black frames, distorted frames, red frames (solved if I get the file with steady gop instead of variable). Additionally, we work with an external agency, apparently they are not having any issue while rendering SDR projects.I am wondering, what I am missing and why I am having these problems.
