Acrobat Reader

So I have a text box that has a default value displayed and I have made the font grey, so that when it is printed, you can write over the top of the default value easily to fill it in by hand. Aside from being a printable form to be filled in by hand, I also want to be able to fill in the form electronically, however, when I type into the text box and the default value disappears (I have used a JavaScript format for that, see below) the text that is typed into the box is still grey, I want the text to turn black when I begin typing into the field. How can I do this? I'm thinking probably an addition to the JavaScript, but my grasp of it is very limited. The JavaScript format I have used is: if (event.value == "") {        event.target.display = display.visible;        event.value = 'DDMMYY';    }

We have various pdf reports at work that I need to digitally sign.  To clarify, there is not a signature field; I go to use certificate > digitally sign and select an area to sign.  However, quite often, the signature does not show up on the document the first time.  It goes through the signing process and saves, but the signature does not appear and I have to repeat the process.  Does anyone know why this happens, and if it can be fixed?

Hello all,Today, for the first time, I was required to enter an "Adobe code" and also provide my Adobe credentials just to use Reader. This is not an app I purchased; nor have I purchased/licensed any optional features. It's not particularly convenient to have to sign in each time I use Reader. 

Hi there,   I have a weird problem.  Whenever I try to print PDF's from a particular company, they only print half the line, for the entire document, making it very hard to read.   Every single line only prints the top half of the words.I am having no problems printing anything else, so it is not my printer. I have even tried printing from another computer, and this still happens.  It is only happening when I try printing from Acrobat Reader.   Hope somebody can help me please.

Hello, I have an issue with the Fill & Sign feature in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2019.010.20098 installed OS Windows 10 Home - 64-bit 32GB RAM - all updates installed. When placing a text box, I cannot manually resize the box, nor can I drag it. Once I place the text box, its stuck. Same goes for the signature box. Once the signature is placed it cannot be resized or moved/dragged. I used to be able to do this, but no more. The only change I can think of is that I have a new monitor which is UHD 3840x2160 resolution with 150% text scaling. I have been searching the internet and the forum for a similar problem but have not been able to resolve it. Any help or tips would be deeply appreciated. Thanks

Hello everyone,I re-post this message because I've found a way to detect that a file as been modified . I found that any modification may corrupted the cross reference table & it's easily detect with "bycepdfdata" , a software that shows metadata.... But I don't know if it do detect a file modified with acrobatpro ? Your opinion ?Thank you

Today I tried to use the print multiple feature and it no longer works, (it worked previously). It only prints one image per sheet although it does move the image around on the page when I choose more or less per page.I have updated my printer drivers and firmware. Still no luck. Why does a PDF show additional text at the bottom of my document and block some desired content at the bottom too?

The last post on this was from 2017, so I'm guessing the latest version of Adobe Reader is quite different. When I open Reader, I almost always want to disable scrolling, and zoom to page level.  But the defaults are the exact opposite.  This is especially tiresome when I have to look over a dozen invoices and have to make these two setting changes on each tab. Is there a way to make Reader keep the two settings I want?

I have generated the following PDF, which is just a blank page with a cat stamp. But when I use `this.syncAnnotScan()` and `this.getAnnots()`, the result is null. Why?

When I open a PDF and set it to 100% zoom, what exactly does that mean? 100% of what?If I have a landscape letter size page, 100% zoom goes beyond the visible Reader window.  I am supposing this has something to do with document and screen resolution, but PDF Properties doesn't list a document's resolution, only it's size.Related to this, if I want a document to open at 100% and give a specific size, say 1920 x 2400 pix, how would I go about achieving that?Thanks.

Filling out Canada visa tourist form.When pressing 'validate' button, form validates ok,  HOWEVER:Adobe will not generate the barcodes required. Hi, I have a wide A3 landscape page that people view on their cell phones and have to scroll letft and right but losing their plcae. Is there by now a way to freeze the left most spreadsheet (from Excel) column in Acrobat Reader?

Hello,I'm asking for help with the new version of Adobe Acrobat Reader.I'm working as a proofreader and I have used a lot the commenting feature to mark errors and point potential improvements to typesetter working in InDesign.Especially useful was the feature of typing leading or trailing spaces in comments (e.g., in Add Text or Replace Text features) such that typesetter in InDesign can automatically apply my remarks to the book.Recently, however, I've discovered that Adobe removed the possibility of leading/trailing whitespaces - see What's new in Adobe Acrobat (and the below screenshot from the linked webpage).   Is it possible to disable this "enhancement" somewhere in options? If it is not, then, dear Adobe, I'd be very glad if you allowed us to at least to configure it in the options in the future update? Cheers!

Whenever I open a pdf this "All Tools" sidebar opens up which is very annoying. How can I hide this permanantly that means whenever I will open a pdf this sidebar will not open autometically.

In Dropbox, I have created aliases of several frequently-used files. I stick an asterisk * in front of the aliases' file names, so they show up at the top when appearing in alphabetical order. (Tthe mother node file is a book title that starts with 'W' and so it's way down a huge long list of files.) In Acrobat, which has Dropbox (Personal) fil storage added, *none* of my alias file names show up. Hopefully this isn't normal! Using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2019.021.20061, Windows 10 I want to give a presentation using Adobe Reader and so want the mouse cursor to disappear when I go to full screen. The presentation has links, however, so I want to have the cursor reappear if I move it. Currently the Full Screen mouse cursor preference is set to "Hidden After Delay" which I have seen work on other computers. On this computer, the mouse does not disappear after any delay. Setting it to "Always Hidden" hides it successfully but makes it harder to click links.  How can I debug this problem to get "Hidden After Delay" to function as intended?

I suddenly have a problem where Adobe Reader will not print. It has printed fine for years (various MACs and OSs), but with no change to the current system, it now fails with an error message (and the printer spits out a blank page). I ran through Adobe's troubleshooting list - no solution. I verified print capability on an identical MAC on the same system and printer - worked fine. I reinstalled Adobe Reader - Nope. I went ahead and upgraded to the current MAC OS - Nope. Would it be possible for adobe to make e-sign features more intuitve?Specifically within Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Acrobat Standard, and either bit version? 32 or 64? For example it would be nice when creating specifically a e-sign siganture it had a feature where it automatically applies the date and time of the e-sign right under your signature. This way it also carries over to Adobe Acrobat Sign for when you have to sign documents sent to your via email
