Reset the preferences. Have you tried the new find distraction with the remove tool? It's up in the options bar - automatically removes power lines for you - might not help with the crash but hopefully it won't crash.  ... View more

I agree with you, Alan. Everyone has a different workflow and end goal. I use Bridge and LRC in very strange ways that most people would never have use for or consider it a viable workflow. I teach Bridge when I teach PS, AI and ID but it's just a quick gloss over with encouragment for my students to use it and give it a chance. I also have many students like you describe above. They have been using the software for a very long time but don't understand masking and haven't grown with capabilities of the app. That's why I have a job :).    ... View more

You are making a new layer, so you have to save a copy. Flatten the image and you should be able to just save. Skip the stamp image and go right to flatten. I'm assuming you don't want to save a copy with the layers... ... View more

Anytime I'm using AI, PS or ID, when I have a bunch of files to organize I open mutliple windows and drag and drop everything, if I need to change / add metadata to an image, If I need to preview a muliple page document like a PDF or InDesign file, when I get frustrated with LRC and want organize stuff I just do it in Bridge and then synchronize my folders in LRC, when I want to see into folders, view only certain types of images in folders, etc. It's fantastic and I wish there were some great video tutorials out there to point people to. That doesn't make any sense, it should work. Are you sure you are turing off the layer below - the original layer so you can see the new one?   Try selecting the inverse. If you have the tree selected, and you contract the selection, select the inverse (cmd + shift + i) and then delete - you should be left with the inside of the tree.     I used generate to make a tree.
