My interface is very laggy, just moving the shape layers makes it laggymy pc: CPU: ryzen 5 5600GPU: RX 6650 XTRAM: 32GB:1TB SSD NVME

Once again, problems with MXF files and version 24.In versions 24.4 and 24.5, I get glitches during the preview that remain when rendering the compositions in some random frames. If I clear the cache, they disappear, but when I preview again, they appear in different frames.I transferred the project to another computer within the company, with a completely different configuration. Both computers are running Windows 11 but have different processors and graphics cards, and the same thing happens, so I rule out that it’s my computer. On the second computer, there are also hardly any third-party plugins installed that could cause any incompatibility.I have tried all the 24 versions, and it happens with all of them. Reinstalling version 23, everything works perfectly, no problems at all.It’s a nightmare to be in this situation, having to start projects from scratch that were already very advanced when downgrading the version. Mac mini m4 not utilise cpu/GPU in after effects/premere pro its showing only 10% of cpu during the software usage which slows down my overall experience.

I have always used After Effects for simple projects, but now, for a more complex project, I would like to start using some expressions to simplify the work. Specifically, I would like to understand which expression to use to instruct multiple objects to move along a path. This way, if the path is modified, the path of the objects changes accordingly. I'm using the code below to create a ticker tape that runs along the bottom of the screen in an After Effects template. This template is for a client who is a novice in After Effects and only needs to update the text—without dealing with layer duplications, keyframes, or other complexities.I want the text to scroll continuously, with only two spaces before it repeats, regardless of its length (as long as it fits in the composition). The current code works well (see the YouTube link below for an example), but the motion isn't smooth because the speed is based on characters per second, which creates a jittery effect.I need a modified version of the code where the speed is determined by pixels per second instead of characters per second, ensuring smooth movement. Hi All, I have checked the forum and found a few posts on there but none have solved the problem so I am trying again! (my specs are at the end of the message) I'm contsatly getting the "Out of Memory 23::40" message. It has become impossible for me to get any work done.  I'm contstantly purging the Media cache, I have designated 24 GB of RAM for after effects and 4 Gb for the rest of the applications. I think this "lack" of memory is literally affecting everything I do, including my exports via media enocder. I have spend the entire day trying to export a project but constatly met with this  issues, I have given up and really don't know where else to look. Can anyone please tell me  what this issue could be? Is it the project? My settings??My computer?? Hi guys,I use SDK to develop a plugin for Chinese users, for cpp files, I could use Chinese Character as parameter names successfully, but I want to show Chinese Name in Plugin menu which users can find their wanted plugin easily, I try to write a Chinese name in .r resource file which include Plugin infos, but I can not convert it to rcc correctly, I tried to add utf-8 symbol in visual studio compiling commands which use cl.exe to compile .r file, still not succeed, need Help 

For about three weeks now, I've been having significant issues with After Effects. It's been incredibly unstable on my PC lately; it's constantly crashing and even causing the system to reboot completely. I don't know what the issue is, as my computer has high specs:Intel i9RTX 4090162 GB RAM2TB SSD To add context, my PC is custom-built and completely new. Every time I try previewing any project, it crashes out of nowhere or restarts my PC. I sometimes get a variety of error messages, each one different. I have already uninstalled all my external plugins and scripts. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects several times, even trying different versions, but I keep getting the same results. At one point, I thought it was my new PC, so I called the manufacturer. We ran several benchmarks and scans, and they confirmed that my PC is working perfectly fine. They suggested it might be an energy issue, specifically the load balance of the line where the PC is connect

New to After Effects and trying to use the Camera to create some 3 dimensional angles for text in a video.The video show is basically a zoom in shot and I want to create the illusion that the text is there in the scene as a static object but when the camera zooms the text is zoomed in on as well. Currently it just looks like the text is floating around and is not anchored to a foundation. I've tried making keframes on the camera in zoom, I've also tried creating keyframes scaling the text up (with anchor point positioned at bottom right). I am using Adobe AE 2024 since last few months and I am getting issues when I switch to another adobe application. My PC freezes and it takes approx. 2-3 minuts to move the cursor, but AE shuts down automatically after a few seconds. It does not let me do anything in between, I cannot switch to another application excapt moving the cursor. I am not using any heavy effect that might affect the software.I recently switched from AE-25 because it has same issues but at extreme level.

I’m using Google Drive for Desktop on my Mac.I have set my Documents folder to sync with Google Drive.All folders within the Documents folder sync perfectly, except for the After Effects folder, which shows a ”!” error and fails to sync. The issue occurs specifically with this folder:Documents/After Effects 2025/User Presets/(Adobe) Troubleshooting attempts:• I have uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects.• I have completely removed and reinstalled Google Drive for Desktop.• However, the issue persists. How can I get this folder to sync properly? My After Effects folder on my Macbook Pro (Documents/After Effects 2025/User Presets/(Adobe)) won’t sync on Google Drive for Desktop, showing a ”!” error. Other folders sync fine. I reinstalled After Effects and Google Drive, but the issue persists. How can I fix this?

I've recently upgraded to the newest AE and have been getting the hang of the new 3D gizmo and its various modes.  However, I've had problems doing precise adjustments to anchor point location and motion path curves on 3D layers since I often end up selecting one of the many gizmo transform handles so close to the curve handles or the gizmo itself, which is a pretty visually busy tool, obscures the precise pixels I'm trying to adjust the anchor point to. Is it possible to turn the 3D gizmo off or revert it to the old "gizmo," at least temporarily?  I've been able to find workarounds, but overall my workflow would be quicker if I could turn it off or revert it to the old tool when making those adjustments.

I've got six layers selected. Each has a Group in it, with a Path, Stroke and Fill that come from Illustrator (I converted .ai files into vector layers to get these). Normally, I can select them and click Distribute Horizontally in the Align panel and it will work as intended. But for some reason, this -- and evrything else in the Align panel -- does not work. The only thing that does anything is the Align Left button, and that doesn't work as expected; things kind of shuffle to the left, but you can keep clicking it and getting wildly different results. Any thoughts?

After effects crashes a lot when editing even though I have really good specs for video editing and does not give me the possibility to save the projects, i have just lost morethan 3 hours of editing.

I am working on a project that involves moving the points of a closed path. The stroke is tapered.But when I am moving some points aroud, suddenly the starting point of the tapering changes.Please see the screen recording that I have shared.Is there any work around this problem or is this a bug/function?

I just got back on After Effects after being off for awhile. When I start a new comp and choose black background, it gives me a transparent background. Did I accidentally change a preference or setting? Has anybody else had this happen?Thanks for any help I can get.

Hello,I am not sure if I accidentally clicked or pressed something because I am relatively new to After Effects, but I have a main composition and a couple of nested pre comps that I made. I am animating things in these nested pre comps that is only supposed to run for a couple of seconds. For some reason, the current time indicator decided to position itself at 03:25:00 as shown in the attached screenshot by default. The animation is already supposed to be over at that point, so if I navigate back to the parent comp, when I start playing from the start, that nested pre comp will just be static. If I click back into that nested pre comp, I will find that the current time indicator has moved back to 03:25:00. To clarify, if I move this current time indicator back to the start, I am able to play my animation fine. I can leave it at 0:00:00, but if I click back to the parent comp I actually end up seeing a blank space in the preview and my current time indicator is gone until I manua

Hello! I'm in After Effects CC 2024 working to animate a cube which is meant to rotate multiple times around its furthermost edge, and the way I'm doing it is by keyframing the anchor point every time it does a full 90° rotation but it's impractical and inefficient – is there any way to do this without manually keyframing? Here's a reference GIF for what I'm trying to achieve; made this real quick in another app to get the point across so it's not in the best quality...   

I have applied a few effects to a layer that has an image on it.  Is there a way to toggle the visibility of an EFFECT?  There's an eye-visibility-toggle on the layer, but I don't want to toggle visibility of the whole layer.  I want to toggle visibility of specific effects, so I can see playback with various combinations of effects. Photoshop has what I'm talking about.  I included screenshots of both AE and PS.
