I have an existing arrow graphic used for a logo, that needs to be animated so that it follows the shape and finishes as it is in the logo, is there a way of doing this without drawing one single path? as it is made of geotmetric shapes rather than a single stroke. 

Hi Dear Community, I'm not sure if I'm using After Effects right or not !I think it should use GPU at it maximum. it seems like it not using anything but 100% from CPU. GPU : Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060CPU : Intel i5 - 10400F PC lags and freezes when rendering a video.. Can you help please !!

This is a Ai file & importeded to Ae. Colors are set in Ai. Is it possible to animate color in Ae? Video is attached.  

Im animated a knitting simulation. The needle needs to be obscured by the grooves and the cylinder as it rotates. But as you can see it is not. Seems like simple geometry, any ideas on how to fix? These are models that were built in blender. Im using the advanced renderer because seems like this is the only renderer that supports 3d model imports. I have tried to duplicate an effect and to make it independent but it keeps on making it the same.   from the top left box i have the Project screen with the composition A. i canot drill into the compostion A.   once i double click the composition A then the timeframe screen appears on the bottom. within there is many layers.   example layer 1 has effect with text and videos.  this is what i want to copy and duplicate to keep the effects but be able to change videos and texts.   I have tried all the ctrl + D and Ctrl C and V but to no avail.   Can someone help?   [Title updated by Mod.]

Need urgent help please. A project file that I am currently selling in a marketplace is now BROKEN in After Effects 2024 / 2025. It was created using AE 2020 / 2023, and still works fine in those versions. I've spent many hours trying to figure it out, and not many answers. The project is essentially a flip board, with a series of tiles that have a Start set of text animating to reveal an End set of text. It works great as designed in AE 2023, but in AE 2024/2025 the text in the tiles goes all wrong: the wrong letters appear in the tiles at seemingly random times; even empty tiles that should contain no letters will show letters in some frames. Or, letters will disappear then reappear.  Using a Purge > Memory & Disk Cache seems to shuffle the problematic results. So it seems that the glitches are fairly random, and a cache purge will produce different problematic results. I've provided a stripped-down version of the project with text already inserte

I was trying to make a montage on after effects and all of a sudden I experienced this glitch when I played back the video. The resolution and fps of the compostion was 1280x640 60 fps and the clip's resolution and fps was 1920x1080 50-60 fps (sadly not constant it was variable framerate I think). I thought it was a glitch because of compostion settings but when I made a new compostion with the exact details (dragged the video to the make comp button) it still showed the glitch. The glitch occured multiple times and seemed to divide the video in two halves. Hi everyone. Trying to figure out how to implement motion blur for my plugin. In a nutshell, exactly what code I would need would be CC Force Motion Blur. I don't really at all understand how concept of motion blur should work, so any help would be much appreciated. Even better, code example would be great. My plugin mostly uses transform_world. How do you expand the buffer correctly, because I always get the "invalid max_result_rect" error from AE and how do you SAMPLE in that expanded buffer? What do you do with Distortions or Blurs? They are supposed to sample out of bounds. This little issue here is just beyond my capabilities I swear. I just can't comprehend the fact that I managed to implement GPU Acceleration for CUDA, OpenCL, Metal and DirectX, and I can't do something as simple as expanding the buffer and sampling out of bounds. You all should really update the SDK with a sample plugin that does this, there's only Resizer which is a non-SmartFX plugin, that does not help at all, yk??Please provide example codes!

Hi all,some strange problem occured recently using After Effects 25.2.2. When i try to overlay Footage (Gold Particles on black background) using add or screen mode for example., the Black part of the Footage is darkening the layers below. No 3D layers involved. Did anything change recently in how those modes work?Thanks in advance!

I cannot generate previews in both recent versions of Adobe Premiere and AE. I get 1-5 minutes of edit time, then they freeze or the window turns black, and then I get a pinwheel. Hi, I would like to add in a text with bullet point, but I cant seem to get it with the right formatting. I did attempt to format it in illustrator (using tabs and paragraph spacing) before copying and pasting, but to no avail. anyone knows how?

My question is fairly simple but haven't found a good solution yet. The image below shows all key-frames have been placed on a layer I am wondering is there any ways that can quickly space out those dots evenly. like this image below:I use photoshop / illustrator as well. they have a series of buttons like this: Does After Effect has something similar tools like that as well? if not, how can i quickly achieve the evenly space out dots.Thanks, Appreciated

Hey! Does any of you kind people have any experience with using the bodymovin plugin to convert AE animations to JSON files? I'm just doing a basic handwriting effect and plays out perfectly on AE. But when I export it, the things a mess. It writes all at the same time and misses out half the letters? Any help would awesome. Thanks folks!Gareth.

Hi, I've been having a problem where I flat out can not use my 4 brush related tools in my toolbar in AE (desktop). I get no error code, it's simply when I click on either brush tool, clone stamp tool, rotobrush, or eraser tool, it will not change my cursor to that tool and doesn't work as if it is either, every other tool works. Using the keyboard shortcuts does not do anything different.  It acts as if they don't exist and clicking them only highlights the tool in the toolbar but nothing else. I've tried new compositions, updating, restarting, uninstalling, new workspaces, reset preferences, driver updates and probably more I cant think of. I'm aware that brush tools can only be used in the original layer source panel by double clicking on the clip, still doesnt work. If anyone has a way to fix this I need it desperately. Thanks.

Also I'm not talking about the setting "Hardware accelerated composition, layer, and footage panels". Premiere Pro has the abillity to disable it but I can't find it on After Effects. GPU Accelerated UI Rendering causes the premeire pro/after effects window to lag when dragging it around or hovering over most UI buttons have "phantom" effects. It also makes the timeline and other stuff very slow. I never had this problem in Premiere Pro v24.

Hello,so I’ve downloaded an episode of a TV-series and when previewing all I hear is the background sound, not the voice of the actors. I’ve tried using .avi .mp4 but nothing seems to work (I‘m not really good at codecs and conversions). Help me please.Thanks in advance,alisic.kevin

Every time I open this one specific project it plays only half of it then completely freezes and won't preview any more, it also crashes every time I try to save. I've tried disabling my plugins, it doesn't help, and this doesn't seem to be happening in my projects which do use plugins, only this one project. It was working just fine and then it just suddenly stopped working. I've tried everything: changing my audio output, clearing all my cache's, disabling plugins, checking if I have any old ae apps downloaded, and literally nothing works so I've came here to try and see if anyone can help.Only happens in one project and it is so annoying, I'd much rather not have to redo all my hours of work. Please give some ideas on what could help, thanks! 

Hi community,   After Effects 23.2.1 is now available for download from the Creative Cloud desktop application. This release contains critical bug fixes.   What's fixed? Fixed an issue that could cause layers and keyframes to update slowly while being moved around the timeline. Fixed an issue where MXF files with non-English filenames failed to import, instead showing an error - "Failed to import. Unsupported format or damaged file." Fixed an issue that caused After Effects to crash when using Roto Brush version 2.0 and Quality set to Best on macOS Ventura (version 13) on Apple silicon hardware.   How to update After Effects to version 23.2.1? Open the Creative Cloud desktop application and click the Updates tab on the top left. Find After Effects in the list and click Update. I don't see the update in my Creative Cloud desktop application. What should I do? Click Help > Check for Updates from the Creative Cloud desktop application to refresh it.   NOTE: Upda
