After Effects

i have after effects 25.0 installed but the creative cloud not showing the update to 25.1 . i go online and the update says my computer is not compatabile. any ideas

I'm attempting to pass a string, such as "testCommand," from a JavaScript (ExtendScript) script to a custom After Effects plugin written in C++. My Magic Bullet Looks used to work fine, I re-installed after effects after having a misunderstanding over a clip which was HEVC and I thought it was mp4. After I realised there was no problems with the HEVC and converted my HEVC clip to MP4, my new re-installed After Effects shows a Black Screen whenever I apply Magic Bullet Looks. I don't have a graphics card and cannot switch from "Mercury Software Graphics", I am running an I5-1035G1, 8GB ram and my computer is 64 bit on windows 11. I have even tried switching between "8bpc", "16bpc" and "32bpc". My After Effects before re-installation didn't say this but this one does, in the top right corner "Display Acceleration Disabled". I am running After Effects CC 2021 by the way, if anybody could provide any help I'd be extremely grateful.

Hi everyone, I’m working on a project for HV Home Builders (https://hvhomebuilders.ca/) where I need to create a professional promotional video using After Effects. However, I’m facing an issue where the video preview becomes laggy, and transitions don’t render smoothly, especially after adding motion graphics like text overlays and effects. I’ve tried adjusting the resolution and clearing the cache, but it’s not resolving the problem. Does anyone have advice on optimizing After Effects for smoother previews and rendering for this kind of project? Thanks in advance!   

Bonjour, Je me suis retrouvé dans une situation que je rencontre régulièrement, travaillant sur des films publicitaires.   J'ai un plan (Raw_footage_Sample) que j'ai dû accélerer pour avoir les élèments qui m'interèsse à l'écran.Puis je dois passer mon plan dans after effect afin de le travailler.Mon plan dans Premiere pro est reglé sur 150% de sa vitesse, cela dit, une fois dans after effect, je vois qu'il est consideré comme étant à 100% (1sec/1sec), alors qu'il est bien lu à 150% lors de mon export (car l'image d'entrée est la même que celle de sortie, ou en d'autres termes, on voit exactement la même chose que lors du mongage sur premiere), et évidemment, dans premiere pro, le plan sample.aep est à 100% aussi (ce qui est logique pour moi) Maintenant imaginons que je veuille, une fois l'avoir mis dans after effect et travaillé, repasser ce plan à 100% de sa vitesse dans after effect, peut-importe la raison (croyez-moi, il y en a)Comment dois-je faire??Il y a-t-il un m

Colors in the library (same color code) are appearing duller on screen in the 2025 version of After Effects compared to the 2024 version. Can someone explain this phenomenon? This doesn't appear to affect any exports, but there is a visible difference in the After Effects interface.

When I load a 3D model into After Effects and add it to a composition, it doesn't appear in the Preview, just a black screen. In an animation I need lots of quick cross dissolves from one frame to another. So I use the sequence option to offset all frames and do a cross between them. But this results in white flashes in the middle of each dissolve. How can I prevent this?

For some reason, I cannot import any files to After Effects? I'm trying to make a simple composition of a .png-file, it's size is 1.39 MB. I keep getting a pop-up telling me "Memory Allocation of 2,2 GB exceeds internal limits. Decrease the memory requirements for rendering this frame (12802)". I've tried clearing my cache, in- and decreasing the memory requirements, deleting After Effects and downloading it again, and nothing helps. Anyone know what to do?

Hi, I have got two clips on premiere timeline. one from DJI Mavic 3 in DLOG and second from FX3 in SLOG3. When I open it in AE the Sony footage is totally oved graded, contrasted... Can you help me, where is the problem? I tried to export the FX3 clip, put it back to timeline and it works fine. But original one is totally unuseable!

Hi everyone. I have been having extensive visual glitch issues with the Red Giant VFX Shadow and Primatte plugins in After Effects. The basic outline of the issues is using the Shadow & Primatte plugins causes graphic glitches that show up in both the working file and rendered files. This makes them unusable, and I am unable to properly see what I am working on. Here's a video clip showcasing the glitches.  Happens for any new file I make also. Current version of AE is the latest one 23.1. My GPU is an Nvidia RTX A4000 card. Up until now I've been able to do broad strokes in terms of editing, but because these issues show up in the actual renders themselves it means I have to fix them asap. I'm quite frustrated at this point after trying to find a fix for quite a number of weeks now with no results. I've been emailing Maxon Support extensively over the past several weeks but we are yet to find a fix for these issues. Whenever I press the space bar and playback my video it turns out all choppy and laggy. I use After Effects CC 2018, on a Mac Book Pro. I know it is not trying to render the effects because from the moment I import it into a composition it's laggy. I edit for fun so I don't know much about my computer and about my settings on AE. Hello! I have been given a Prores 444 file with the image characteristics. HDR10 with ITU-R BT.2020If I import it into AE (16-bit project) the color profile assigned to it is: REC. 2100 PQ (and it won't let me change it)And it looks washed out and grainy in the viewfinder.If I change the viewfinder color space to ITU-R BT.2020 the highlights burn out.Either of those two options rendered in Encoder do not give a good result.How can I get a render respecting the HDR and the original color?Thank you very much!

Hi!I'm having an issue importing an PSD file to AE. It just freeze my AE and nothing happen. My rainbow wheel just spins forever, so my only option is to force quit the app at the manager. I've tried it in two projects with no sucess.

After the last update yesterday, 03.12.2024, After Effects started to work drastically slower. When I try to do something in the program, it's almost unmanageable how slow it works, while yesterday before the update it worked normally. I'm wondering if I'm the only one having this problem. At the moment, I restarted the whole system on windows, bought a new SSD and tried various ways, but it still works too slowly.

I started with a video about 2 hours, then trimmed it down to 1 second by using B and N key, then trim comp to work area.Even the composition settings show the duration to be 0;00;01;05I did some masking and content aware fill.Then when I send it to render queue, it tries to render 2 hours of video. Why? There is only 1 second of video in the comp.This is version 25.0.1 

Im having this crashes. It is happening everytime i am rendering. I tried disabling the multi rendering, tried the disabling the cuda, starting in safe mode but no luck at all. I cant render anything in both media encoder and after effects itself. Out of frustration i left the after effects unattended but it crashes without me doing anything. I downgraded to windows 10 thinking it was not compatible with windows 11 but having the same issues on both windows. I tried installing and reinstalling after effects even the creative cloud. Okay when i adjust the roundness option the resolution of preview will broke, does anyone know how to fix that (im using adobe after effect 2024)

Hi there, new to AE. Scoured the internet, but can't find any info on this at all. Hoping someone can help with this. When I go to Preview the Composition (spacebar to play/stop), as soon as I stop playing, the Layer timeline automatically zooms to max. Typically, I have it zoomed in so that I can do more finetuned work. It's a bit frustrating when you constantly have to zoom back in. Is there any way to turn this auto-zoom off? I've scoured and tested every option that I can find. I don't want it to go to max zoom every time I play a Preview. I want the zoom level to remain the same, unless I manually change it. Thanks in advance.
