After Effects

Hi community.  I have a line shape, which I have used a repeater, and one after the other just before the next shape starting from frame 0 , its opaque before becoming solid. I need for each shape to appear to be 100% solid with no transperancy. Just one full block appearing one after the other, like an EQ soundbar.     it takes 4 frames before becoming solid, seems like the transition is:0 % transparency25 % transparency75 % transparency 100 % solid.  Thank you.

Hi,I'm currently getting the same Crashes on a System that used to Run After Effects 2023 fine last year.Also updated to 2024 and reset everything but still didn't resolve the issue. The Software itself runs fine but whenever I either click Open, Import or Save and the Explorer window opens After Effects immediatly crashes. Shown crash report on screen is always:I also enabled crash report and looked through the report, the error alerts are: - Ticks = 25687 <5632> <ALOG> <5> EGG PromptUserThenDie lastmesg="<5632> <ALOG> <5> BEE Command Do Set BG Color -Ticks = 25687 <5632> <ALOG> <5> U U_Sev_PROBLEM After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <5632> <ALOG> <5> BEE Command Do Set BG Color Does anyone have an idea what could cause this? Other programs like Photoshop run fine when I open the explorer windows.  Thank you for any help and suggestion

Bonjour,j'ai un problème à l'ouverture avec un fichier qui m'affiche ce message d'erreur :" des erreurs se sont produites lors de l'ouverture d'un projet1) After Effects (erreur) : Erreur lors de la tentative de duplication d'un objet texte. Calque de Texte ignoré."Ce qui est bizarre c'est qu'il y a un mois je n'avais plus ce message et je pouvais ouvrir sans souci ce fichier.Alors qu'en début d'année jusqu'à septembre je l'avais.Ce fichier a été crée sous AE .22 et je suis actuelle sous AE .24. Si je ne dis pas de bêtises (je n'ai plus la date exacte de la maj .24), le fichier c'est ouvert correctement sous 23.5.Merci d'avance pour vos lumières. 

i am trying to import glb files in after effects to use it as a 3d model but it is not accepted so when i tried to import the source file (blend+glb) i was given error 39::7 so i need to know how to import glb files in after effects

Hello,I have a strange "problem" when exporting my project that I created in After Effects.I am using the 2024 Creative Cloud. I want to have the file in webm format in the end. Small file size and transparent background.No matter what format that supports an alpha channel does not produce the desired result. - If I use QuickTime (ProRes 4444 + alpha) for the first export, there are different results depending on which codec I use. The result has a) no video (only visible through a conversion - I'll come to that in a moment), b) an interpolarity of the colors (+ background).- A direct export to Webm gives the same result as the conversion from QuickTime ( a) ) - it is not transparent and the graphics used are given white backgrounds for their own area.- An export to avi with active alpha channel has the same result as with QuickTime ( a) )  I used the following methods for the export:- Direct AfterEffects- Via Premiere- Via the Media Encoder Same result everywh

What is the best way to animate a design I have made in indesign? After Effects doesn't seem to let me import a indesign-file into after effects.

I'm trying to make a video with a lot of png photos, but I get an error like the picture.File names were set in order to 0001.png.I don't think there's a problem with my file, what's the reason? I also installed a new version of the program, but I keep getting errors. I have to hurry up and work on it, but I'm angry

Hi, yes this has been asked before. It's the kind of thing you only notice at 3am when you're doing the most boring predictable work in existence. Oh that fundamental, basic, most boring feature of being able to export your video in a standard high quality, low file size format?   No, you can't do that anymore. You need a separate program. You need a separate piece of software to export a movie from a program whose sole purpose is to create and export movies.   Please, for the love of god, let us export h264 again from After Effects. You clearly have no concept of how buggy and bloaty media encoder is, and how overkill it is just to export a h264 movie file. At LEAST support this file format - the most popular format in existence today.   It worries me that I am even writing this. Did someone accidentally format the repo?   [Title edited by Mod.]

Sometimes you want to rename your master comp, and that comp probably has your master controllers for linked expressions from other comps.  Sometimes, After Effects hits you with a bunch of errors when you rename the comp, and then you have to go and repair each expression (you can use the script find and replace in expressions to fix).  The faster solve is just to use AE Global Renamer to rename your master comp - it will work and keep your expressions intact.  I'm posting this as a little tip for posterity. 

I've looked at and read alot of info on how to copy and paste a paint stroke.  But I'm still having trouble knowing which switch to have on or off and most the info I studied doesn't give a lot of detail on how to go about it.Can anyone help please? 

Hello everyone, does the AE plugin SDK have an API that can get the value of the effect plugin parameter set before the project is closed when the project is reopened next time?

In my continuing quest to script a template, I've got a variable start frame from the client's lineup sheet. (This shot starts on 1001, this shot starts on 1097, etc.) So I've been trying various ways of setting the Comp's Start Frame via script. My template is set to 1000. ...but I'd like to change it to (in this example) 1016 or some other number.For the life of me, I can not find it in the set attributes block of Ae Comp (work area start, display start frame, display start time, work area start), or Ae Project Items (time). To paraphrase C-3PO on the Death Star, "Where could it be?" 

Hi.So why does my edit looks so different when done rendering than when i previewed it? my issue is that when i added sharpen then rendered it i checked the finished video and it looks like i didnt add sharpen at all even tho when previewing (before rendered) it has sharpen in it. Then i added directional blur and brightness to the clip and when i rendered i saw the video and it looks so wierd, the brightness looks so light and the directional blur looks blurred and it doesnt look like directional blur at all, anyways i also decreased the opacity (from 100 to 0 keyframe) but when u rendered it looks so off, it looks like thisas you can see there are lines at the edge ( right when the opacity is starting to drop) im going to be showing you what the directional blur and brightness looks like before rendered: and what it looks like after: please help me

I upgraded to AE 2025, but noticed this problem in the previous version -2024.At first, everything is fine with the project. Importing and saving the project work stably. But AE can slow down a lot on one of the files, files can take a very long time to import - several minutes (regardless of size or format). The same thing begins to happen with saving (it can last 5 minutes or more, although the number of files and their size are small).PC Features:- AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 8-Core Processor - 64 GB RAM- Nvidia RTX 4080P.S. I reinstalled windows and it didn't help (maybe the problem is in some plugin). We are talking about new projects, not imported ones from somewhere

Title. Attempting to import a .fla gives an error stating adobe animate is not installed, even though it is. Same issue when attempting to use media encoder from after effects. Animate and media encoder are able to communicate with no issue, only after effects is having problems. Uninstalling and reinstalling after effects has not helped, uninstalling and reinstalling animate has not helped. Is there something I can change in the preferences?

Hi! I'm trying to animate a text that moves down the screen and gets shredded, just like in a paper shredder. What would be the best way to do this? What I've done so far is: 1. Made the text in illustrator and then split the text using a number of rectangles, so each layer is one "paper strip" each. 2. In after effects I've parented the position of all the text strips to a null object, so the "paper" moves uniformly down the screen. 3. Tried using the puppet tool to individually move the strips when they go through the "shredder". I find it really hard to control the strips with the puppet tool, and I'm sure there are much easier ways to do this. Grateful for any help! 

I'm getting a lot of this warning:"Your disk cache folder is on a drive that does not have enough available space to safely store the full amount specified in your preferences."My setup an settings are:AE 2018 fully updated.Disk cache is its own 500GB SSD, after clearing AE Cache, there is 400gb free space on that drive.Maximum Disk Cache Size is to to 200 GBWhy do I keep getting this message?

Using after effects 2025 on Macbook pro 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4 GBIntel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB, Memory: 32 GB 2667 MHz DDR4 and running on Mac os Sonoma Version 14.6.1I keep loading up images and there pixalted and glitching, I have an imported logo and its and mov file not sture if thats the issue.

Hi all,About a hundred times a day I select a work area and then want to zoom in so that the work area fills the timeline view. Have searched high and low and can't find a way to easily do this (keyboard shortcut or otherwise), It seems like such an obvious thing people would want to do, so I'm hoping I just haven't found the shortcut. Hi After Effects Community,I’ve been encountering a frustrating issue when trying to transfer my video edits between Adobe After Effects and CapCut. I often work on complex edits and animations in After Effects, and then share the projects with collaborators who use other video editing platforms like CapCut. However, I’ve noticed that many of the effects and transitions I create in After Effects don’t translate properly or are outright missing when the video is imported into CapCut. Every time I start AfterEffects I get an error as it's looking to find my recent projects.  The error is as follows:  "Unable to execute script at line 1. File or folder does not exist."  I have not changed the location of any of my project files.  It's the same external drives I've been using for months.  When I click OK the same window opens several more times and then finally the history window opens completely blank and empty.  I am able to reopen the projects however from the RECENT PROJECTS pulldown in the top bar.  It's very odd and worrying behavior.  As well, I'm still using 13.7.2 because when I go to update it is unable to connect and gives me that error.  I sat on with Adobe support for an hour today and we couldn't figure it out.  As I'm in the middle of big projects I just decided to not update, but this error upon startup is very worrying.  Anyone have an idea what could be going wrong or how I can fix it?Many thanks
