After Effects

Okay so I was making an edit on after effect but when I went to render it, it freezed at one specific point and it kept doing this. So, I went to that specific point to see if i could pinpoint the problem. I didn't really see any issues so I just assumed it was the motion tile so I removed all the motion tiles in the edit and replaced it with CC Repetile. All the other clips seem to render fine except for this one, I removed all effects all keyframes, but when I do this for some reason it just makes the entire clip blank but it still renders  These are all the keyframes, effects ive used in this clip. Im currently on a macbook pro which is like 2013, and the RAM is 8gb if you need any more information please just let me know I dont know why it keeps freezing at this point

Hi. I am having an issue when trying to render my Ae project with C4D renderer. It is a 5 sec simple text animation yet when I start the render the rendering freezes at 2% and I cannot quit Ae without restarting the computer. I tried rendering with Media Encoder and encountered the same issue. Sometimes I cannot even add the project to the queue because it keeps unsuccessfully loading it. My Ae verision is 22.6 and my C4D is R25. Here are my system specifications. Please help to resolve this to be able to keep working. Thanks in advance. 

Hello. I have this issue where my footage has these vertical black lines when i zoom in, which are much more noticable after it has been rendered.  I really dont know what can be causing. It was recorded with a broadcast camera, Pro Res 422, 50p.  Thank you. 

Hola, hace poco me compré la RTX 3060 de 12gb, ya instalé todos los drivers, y el nvidia Studio, y pongo la configuración de After effects para que renderice con la GPU, pero cuando me meto en el administrador de tareas aparece que está trabajando a full la CPU y la GPU apenas y se mueve, no sé si estoy configurando algo mal, o debo seleccionar alguna opción, o si así es. Tengo la duda porque cuando exporto en premiere pro, o Davinci, sí utiliza toda la potencia de la GPU, pero en After no.  

When I use 3D objects in this project, I for some reason have a light source and shadows in my composition and I haven't added any lights of my own.As you can see in the images it looks really bad when trying to rotate and objects. And it just seems to happen to just this project.  As you can see this issue does not occur in other projects so I think there's something wrong with my original project.Why is it all of the sudden casting a shadow? Is there a way to remove this wierd lighting?

I've attached two videos of 1-3 secs, can anyone help me get that effect on my text? 

So I have a null connected to my 3d camera, some pictures, and two 3d shape layers (stroke lines). Whenever I move the null's position, the two shape layers move with my camera and follow it instead of staying in its place. Now I don't have this problem with my pictures, just with my shape layer. And I also tried moving my shape layers back and forth in the Z-axis but that was to no avail. Thank You.

I have finsihed creating this edit and went to export via AME but my render got stuck at this section in the first image around the same time mark 1:04 to 1:07, every time without fail when i try render this edit file it gets stuck here and i have to stop it. I hve tried numerous ways to fix it, change renderer from gpu to software only, disabling paralell encoding, uninstalled and reinstalled AME, uninstalled and reinstalled AE, uninstalled and reinstalled both applications, attempted to uninstall creative cloud as well but got the repair prompt instead so i did that still nothing, gone back into the edit and swapped out the clip that the rendered got stuck and it still freezes there, i removed that clip section entirely and it still gets stuck, i've also used the "collect files" option to put the comp into a new file and it still doesnt work, ive moved the whole edit into a sinlge pre comp clip still nothing. i also tried rendering other edits i've made again in case it was AME

Hello,I have a rather big problem. I am working on a client project and normally for those projects, i work rather clean. Last Friday i changed a few thing around in my project and saved it. After that i did work for two other clients and filled my "recently opened" tab, wuth files for these two projects.Now i cant find my project from friday. I searched everywhere, in autosave, in the other clients projectfolder, in my finder... and i cant find it. I even went into my preferences.txt file but could only find the recently opened filed after that. Is there any other way to find my project? Thanks in advance for every tip.

Is there a way to drive the value strength of an effect via luminence map?

For example, if “Shape Layer 1” has the effect simple choker, I want the choke matte value to be controlled by the luminance intensity for layer “Gradient Map.”

I'm currently trying to get three wheel to follow the body of a car, but they seem to move at different speed and even rotate for some reason. The wheels are parented to the car body and the wheels are 3D objects, whereas the car body is not. Is there a way I can get the 3D wheels to follow the car at the same speed moving with the car body?

I hope to find some help.I am currently working on an animation to create a liquid gradient similar to the one on this site: https://monopo.vn/?ref=godlyI think this is the effect I need to achieve. I tried creating a layer with a 4-color gradient and then applying an adjustment layer with the following effects: Motion Tile, Turbulent Displace, Smear, and Twirl. However, I haven't been able to get it right.In parallel, I created another composition where I animated the edges with Turbulence and Wave, but I didn't achieve the desired effect either.I am unsure if these are the right steps and I'm just missing the necessary adjustments. Here are my issues: How can I create a gradient where I can control the center and the edges to achieve this effect? Also, should I add turbulence to the gradient to make the edges move? I'm a bit lost, so any help would be appreciated.

I've been trying to use the bend tool and I've got it down, but I don't know how to expand the border around it so that way the object doesn't get cropped out as it bends.  Any suggestions? 

I used Photoshop to save a couple color swatches in a Creative Cloud Library for easy access in After Effects. The problem is the Eyedropper in After Effects never reads the colors correctly and I have to manually type in the hexadecimal color code. Here are the results of trying to use the Eyedropper on a Fill effect:   As you can see the hexadecimal color code and RGB values do not match up. I even tried turning on Use System Color Picker in the Preferences but that didn't work either. Any idea on how I can get this working? 

Hi, when i try to use the warp effect qnd i choose the bulge and vertical option, it behave different from the tutorials i saw, it has to just warp the left and righ side of the shape but it my AE it moves the whole shape! Is this a common issue? How can i fix this? I'll post pictures from it if it is not common.Thank you for helping 🥹

I'd like to zoom in (not animate zooming -- with the zoom tool) at, say, 150%. Not 100%. Not 200%. I'd like to type this somewhere. Clicking with the zoom tool, using the mouse wheel, or using the menu, I'm stuck with the same choices.

Whenever any sort of mosaic effect (s_mosaic and bcc mosaic) is used on any video format in timeline, it crashes after effects, It does this in both '23 and '24 versions. NOT only does it crash it, but when I remove the effect from the project altogether and continue editing, about 5-7 minutes in the project crashes with no report or anything and I am forced to terminate the program as if the file is now corrupted and all my work is gone.  I enabled logging in help since no log file was being created in the roaming path.  Here is a link to the log file created: log .

Hi,I'm quite new to AE.I apologise in advance as I'm not familiar with all the terminology as yet, although very familiar with PS/LR and Apple media programs.I have taken a couple of AE beginners courses and all went well. I'm making my own project  and have used the Roto brush. The first time it worked easily, I was able to make a video that is about a minute long and sucessfully export it via Media Encoder. However, I wasn't happy with it so I tried to re-do the Rotobrush part of the project which I wanted to export and then add into the original project as a finished .mp4. However, I cannot get AE to stop propagating, even though I havn't added any further refinements after the first frame. I took a chance and I did try to export it, it started well but then stopped.I've spoken to Abobe support who checked my system and said it's sufficient and should run the program (they sent me a tutorial but it was the same info as the one I'd watched on th Adobe site ) I then I spoke to Ap

Hello I am trying to create a basic butterfly wing animation (top down. And I just want to add an expression to make the left wing rotate in the opposite direction.  and the shadows to basically do the same. I am currently using the following expression. When I make a 3d camera layer or a null layer and try to make it 3d it shows the axis instead of the 3d cube and it is not working like a 3d layer. How can I fix this?

i am having trouble positioning the camera through my scene. i have set up a 3d maP with a bunch of landmarks on it (all in 3d) and I want to fly though the scene.I am having a huge amount of trouble with using the camera controls and I can’t find any good video tutorials on specifically how to use the camera control tools.Also, my two-node camera is not rotating around the point of interest like it should. I have checked all my settings and restarted it but it still won’t stick the point of interest in place like it should. I have tried one-node camera and it’s not that wither.Any helpful links would be gratefully receivedThanks

I'm trying to find out how to get missing files installed.  I downloaded an editing plugin pack with many effects but a few missing effects are needed.   Where can I get these without paying multiple subscriptions?  

Hello, I was hoping someone could share their experience with exporting a video created in After Effects and then being exported in Media Encoder as a transparent MP4 video instead of MOV. Unfortunately, the MOV video is not loading. I have tried multiple media players with no success. If anyone has any information or another alternative regarding my inquiry, please let me know.
