After Effects

Hey After Effects gurus, I'm running into an issue whenever I try to use AE that's blocking my workflow on a M1 Macbook Pro. Whenever I create a new composition or open an existing one, I get this error that I can't dismiss if I click on the effects panel. The only thing I can do to is force quit the application.  I've tried reinstalling AE multiple times, starting in safe mode, deleting presets, delete any custom fonts I've installed, and even updated the operating system; nothing has fixed this issue.  What do we think gang, anything I'm missing here to get this solved? inb4 "don't use effects".

I’m working in After Effects and I’m trying to get a solid color to match between my MP4 outputs and still frame JPEGs. There’s a slight shift that’s visible when comparing them. Is there some color profile sorcery I need to figure out or is this just tilting at windmills?    Screencap: slight color shift with the blue if you compare top left corner to right corner.  

PC and Mac have the same versions of the apps and I can open the AE project in both apps on a Mac. The PC will not open the linked file and displays two error messages when I open the AE.1.  After Effects error: Error attempting to duplicate a text object. skipping the text layer.  (76::53)2: After Effects warning: your project file is apparently damaged (skipped sections: 1). Please save using a different name. (26::0)I I saved using a different file name and it did not work. Mac OS Sonoma 14.61 Apple M1 Ultra 64 GBPC Windows 11 latest version 

Question: Why is the first (only so far) layer of footage in my comp moving or trimming itself by a frame as soon as I add Roto Brush? Is that supposed to happen, or is it a bug? I am working on an urgent project which is an infographic style animation created in Aftereffects. This basically has most of the elements on a large board and then a camera layer that moves from one area to another. The various mini animations are created in their own compositions and the added to the composition called artboad (I'll attached a couple of screen grabs)It seemed to fall down at a certain point - so I removed a composition (by trial and error) and that seems to do the trick, but now it is failing at another point.I have looked to help on line and followed ideas like CPU only rendering - moving the cache to an external disk etc.I have also used media encoder to try and export as a H264I would really appreciate some help.The error is:------------------------------------------------------------ - Encoding Time: 02:39:0007/21/2018 07:01:06 AM : Encoding Failed------------------------------------------------------------Export ErrorError compiling movie.Render ErrorRender retu

I downloaded a After effects custom colouring preset, but when I use it, the presets for the colourista and mojo in Looks doesn't work, but everything else such as LUT's, etc, does. How do I fix this? 

I’m currently having some trouble figuring out how to animate certain elements of the infographic I’m working on. Could you please provide me with some suggestions or guidance on how best to approach this?

Hello, I am using after effects 24 (latest version). My after effects is crashing really frequently. Whenever I try to playback a project it crashes. Sometimes I download templates from envato and whenever I try to playback the video after effects crashes.  Even when I try to render it crashes as well. Sometimes I have to render 20-30 times to complete a video to render. Sometimes my whole system crashes and shows "sorry your pc ran i nto some issues' and restarts. I have tried every solution given on youtube but nothing seems to work. I have everything orignal like windows and adobe softwares as well. Is this a hardware issue?  My pc specs are: Intel Core i7 14 gen 14700K 64 gb ddr5 ramDeepcool LE720 360MM Lquied CPU COOLERGeForce RTX 4070 OC EDITION DEEPCOOL DQ850M-V3L 850W Power SupplyAsus PRIME Z790 Motherboard. Please help me.

After Effects crashes more than anything I have ever worked with in my life. Including Windows ME. It crashes itself and sometimes the entire computer. It crashes multiple times for even small projects. The worst part is it has NO backup or automatic saving at all. I don't think to save as often because NONE of my other applications crash like this. The only thing I can think of is Ableton sometimes, but that stopped when I upgraded my RAM to 64 GB. That didn't help with Adobe After Effects at all. It still crashes on the regular, and when it does it takes 99% of my 64 GBs. It just happened because I tried to change an outside color on an Audio Spectrum effect. Come on. Anyways, whatever the crash reason is, it would help if After Effects had some auto saving feature in the background. Even Ableton does that, and honestly I've only needed it a couple of times. After Effects is so unstable I would say backup saves are a necessity.

Hi There,Looking for some advice on the best way to achieve the below. I want the triangles to move along the path and be equally spaced and loop infinitely. I have them moving along the path but I'm having trouble finding the best way to ensure they are equally spaced (other than manually seperating them individually in a pre comp) is there an expression or a tutorial for how to achieve this.Thanks very much in advance!  

Now here's a puzzle I'm curious about and maybe it's just pushing the limits of the effect too far.   I was playing around with CC Particle World and footage of a woman dancing.  I'd roto-brushed the figure and used CC Particle World's Color Map's Origin Constant setting.  This produces a cute effect, similar to Particle Systems II's but in 3D space. The footage is from Pexels and the camera is moving, so I added a camera tracker.  This is where it gets odd.  Without the 3D camera, the particles appear on the figure.  With the 3D camera, they are displaced and small in frame.  Using Workbench's Normalize Track script to reduce the tracking distances, the particles emit at the correct size of emitter, but are still not on the figure. It's not that big a deal, but the overall effect looks better when a floor is added, as it makes the particles look like they are in real space more.   No camera:   With Camera:   With normalized script an

When I use Save Frame As to save a still from After Effects 18.2, it automatically puts the timecode (0-00-00-00) at the end of the filename.Is there a way to make it stop putting the timecode at the end of the filename?

Hi, Has something happened to Motion Blur in this new update because it is grinidng my system to a halt, both in preview and rendering.  I have a decent system and use AE professionally, I've checked all the usual preview/resolution/cache settings to make sure nothing go reset in the update, but it is soooooooooo much slower to preview and render than ever before. I'm only using is on some text and a shape that whips in and out of shot, wouldn't expect it to start chugging like I'm using C4D! Is this an issue anyone else has since the update? Thanks

Hello, I'm not sure if it's a bug, or if I'm just missing something. We have an internal representation of camera data inside our plug-in and we need to exchange it with After Effects. We used to only read the camera data for rendering, but now we'd like to write back modified data as well. However, AEGP_SetCameraFilmSize is causing us some trouble. We have a button and we handle the click on a PF_Cmd_EVENT. Here's a very trimmed down function that gets called when the appropriate button is clicked. Hi. I'm relatively new to using After Effects and have a reoccuring problem. Whenever I try to add an effect to a single clip, it applies to all of them. I made sure the clips are in diffferent layers, tried locking the layers, and pre-comping each individual clip to stop the effects from applying but nothing has worked. I'm also unable to manually remove these effects from the video clips. I can't find an answer to this problem anywhere else so any suggestions would be appreciated. 

I installed after effects v24.6.2 yesterday. I imported a video file, while I click import it started lagging and got crashed. Before that I used 23 version it woked completely perfect. So its not my system problem. Windows and GPU drivers are up to date. Not only that video, I downloaded another video from envato elements and imported it. I got the same problem. I opened my previous version's workfiles, it worked good but slight lag. When I supposed to import the file, the same crash happened.  I changed my preference, RAM total-32GB. For after effects 26GB.Cache file memory expaned to 100GBcleared all cache files and also temp files in my PC.I changed preview to faster in both and adaptive resolution to interactivity.Turned on and off GPU accelerated settings.Reinstalled many times.Used beta version same crash happened.Actually I installed premiere pro now. While I imported the video, the same thing happened. I think my PC had the problem.What can I do with the PC. Wha

Testing the AE CC 2018 release. So I added some text to the stage and loaded a JSON file into my project. After I created an expression that would read a value from the JSON datasource, AE correctly showed that value in the text placeholder. So far so good, but if I render the project in AME (2018 of course) it just shows 'Text' and not the value from the JSON file. Rendering in AE itself did work as expected. Am I missing something here?

I have an issue with my after effects. On my desktop, (Not laptop) After effects keeps throwing up an error that it did not before. I tried uninstalling it, reinstalling it, installed different versions, installed the beta, and nothing works. All of my other adobe apps work. And after effects works on my laptop so I don't know if it's an account reason or something else. Please let me know.
