After Effects

I want to use After Effects to use projection mapping. Ideally, the content that I want to use for the projection mapping is live footage from things I am doing on my Mac screen.  Is there a way of importing video that is recorded/streamed live from my screen into After Effects? If not natively, is there plugins that allow for this to happen?

I want to create a looping video with the least amount of difference where the loop goes back to the beginning.  I'm stacking the video twice i the timeline, then making the top one 50% opacity.  This works OK, but if I could nudge the positions with keystrokes it would be easier than trying to accurately move the clip by dragging with the mouse.Does anyone have an idea?

So I've got a problem. I've made a new composition with an animation, call that comp1. I've used a black solid with the video copilot plugin Saber. I animated some stuff on top of that solid. To make sure everything looks right in comp1 I've used blending mode 'Add' for the solid layer with the Saber effect. Now the problem arises when I put comp1 into comp2, over a video file. No matter the blending mode, it never blends right. I get a rectangle over my video. I've tried to mask the black background away, but that won't work as that also gets rid of the glow the Saber effect provides. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Hi, I found a cool edit I would love to be able to create myself from material I have shot. It's this overlay, flickering effect in this trailer. It begins at 1 minute.  Syndromes And A Century - Trailer (youtube.com) Anyone have any idea on how to make this? Is it hard? Thank you for any advice!!

Working on a project with a lot of Photoshop files. Essentially a 12 fps animation with frames/photoshop files sequenced in compositions, then compositions have some fairly light motion and colour effects (contrast/B&W etc). Everything runs as expected - except everytime I undo, I get the rainbow wheel for extended periods (5-10min) or it never goes and I have to force quit AE. Have tried running AE in safemode with preferences reset and 3rd party plug-ins disabled. No difference, undo still takes forever/freezes AE. Any advice/fixes greatly appreciated as really slowing my workflow or I just avoid undoing where possible and manaully move things back to how they were. Hey 🙂my expressions in the Dropdown menu is writtin with an "ü" sign. I created a mogrt using all Dropdown menus with an "ü" on a windows machine. But when the customer opens it on a mac machine it has a comma instead of the "ü" sign.Can someone explain this to me? He told me also its not possible to change the comma.Best greetings Mischel 

I have such a problem when downloading After Effects plug-ins, it gives a loading error for hours.

I keep getting this "Unable to fill rectangle. GDI status: ValueOverflow" bug when I open my project on the latest version of Premiere Pro 2024. The sequence panel is blacked out, but the rest of the screen is okay. Every time I move the mouse on the sequence panel, I get more notifications of the same error.  How do I fix this? I can't get anything done.  Please help me!

I have been using after effects for a month or so but i recently have been running into an error. Every time I open a layer panel, the preview freezes and it doesnt unfreeze until i save my projects, exit AE and go back into the project. I used to use AE 2022 and this bug would still happen, so I uninstalled it and got AE 2021. The bug is still here so i figure this must be something with my computer.  My info: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor, CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5500U with Radeon Graphics. I have put a video for visual detail to explain what Is going on.

hi all,I am editing a music video in premiere pro, and i want to separate a subject from the background on a certain scene.So i sent a clip to after effects using the dynamic link. the specific clip that i sent to AE is 40 Frames long, but it was cut from a 3 minute source footage.when i try to use the roto brush i can't, i can only use it on the source footage that was imported (which is very long).what am i missing here in terms of the the workflow between PP and AE ?thanks

I've edited before, and I've only ever had this problem once -- but it went away on its own (which I was very confused about.) But this time it's not really going away. Any time I do anything with motion blur, or a fade in, or really anything, its choppy. I've tried restarting my device, clearing out my cache, etc. I even tried rendering it to see if its just the playback, but even in video format it's choppy. Any help would be extremely appreciated. 

It just doesn't work. No preview, no render, as if it didn't exist.After applying the plugin to a solid or anything else, you can change any parameter, it makes no difference, nothing happens.Tested on MacPro 2019 and Macbook Pro M1 14 2021 with Ventura 13.4

I am working on MacAir M1 on my assignment and when i applied the glow effect to billboards i started getting this error when playing the video. It dissapears if i deleting the glow but also appears if i add any other effect. What should i do?   

When i press U twice to reveal properties, i get this error message.I cant do anything except force quit application.Please help

When I open script panels from Window - > Extensions menu they sometime spawn in a weird non-window inside of the project panel.  If you sort of click around it usually figures itself out eventually but this seems very buggy / broken. Windows 11 AE 24.0.3 

This is very frustrating, everytime I use the camera tracker and I click on the effect name in order to see the tracking points, the footage gets analized again and I have to wait until it finishes to work on it. but if I click anywhere else and click on the effect name again to see the points, I get the analyzing blue bar again. Any fix for this? or is it working as intended

I'm using After Effects beta to the highest update on my m2 MacBook Air. It won't let me activate Cinema 4D rendering on my composition (a very simple composition) it immediately crashes. Please help thank you

Bom dia, Estou com um problema, que não sei identificar se será do After Effects ou do Illustrator.Realizei um projeto no Illustrator, que quero passar para o After Effects para fazer a sua animação.No entanto, quando importo o projeto para o After Effects, primeiramente, não me aparece a janela que é suposto aparecer, em que eu escolho "camadas". E, quando é importado, não aparecem as camadas do Illustrator, aparecendo o projeto com o símbolo o AI. Já atualizei os programas, já eliminei tudo de raíz do meu computador e voltei a instalar e mesmo assim dá sempre o mesmo erro.Já experimentei com outros ficheiros AI e acontece exatamente o mesmo.

So, since Saturday I haven't accessed After Effects, the error occurs when initiating the application, and it asks me to start in safe mode, I do, but nothing happens, I already uninstalled all plugins and uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects. It only happens with After Effects, other Adobe software like Photoshop and Illustrator work well. I'm in the middle of a delivery. I REALLY need this working today.Thanks

i have been trying Roto brush 3.0 today, 1.0 and 2.0 works fine but when i use 3.0 my screen turns purple like in this image, any ideas why this is happening? all drivers have been upadtes. i am using a Intel A770 with an AMD 7950X .

Can anyone help me with this error message? My workflow:I have a Samsung T7 and open my Project with Premiere Pro. On the Clip, that i want to edit with After Effects i click to „Replace with After Effects Composition“. After Effects opens and i choose my T7 SSD to save the file. After i click on SAVE this Error Message appears.I also deleted After Effects several times and installed.....Can anyone help me? it‘s just so frustrating..

As the title says, every time I start After Effects (24.0.3) an empty folder with the name and tree structure (3 empty folders within) of an old project that I trashed months ago (stored on an external drive) pops up on my desktop. I, in order:» Updated the OS to Sonoma from the previous OS.» Uninstalled and Re-Installed AE multiple times.» Deleted all the preferences, Unistalled and Re-installed AE. » ... The folder keeps showing up. I'm honestly at lost... please help.
