Hi people,I'm working on a little sometihng that requires a sky replacement.  I've done 2 sky replacements in the past successfully, but I'm facing some issues with this shot, so maybe the methods I try aren't the most appropriate, I don't know. I'm uploading a screen recording video that will show all the details and issues, which are:1 - I made a copy of the main clip black and white and tried to bring as much contrast between the 2 as I can, but some of the original blue sky remains. I can't force the Levels/Curves effect anymore, because when I luma invert matte it to the original clip, it starts screwing up with the foreground pixels, including the walking people and the ground. As a result, the thunder sky footage that I want to use as background has some transparency, which is one of the problems. 2 - You can see from the video I made that the people in the video have a white contour around them from the track matte applied. Is there code that could search through all the keyframes of a layer and push whatever secondary keyframes it finds to the second to last frame of the duration of the clip?

helo,i got an iMac with High Sierra, and its not possible to update it anylonger apparentely.so I also cannot install after effects 2023 as it would require a higher version of macOS.BUT can I install after effects 2021 somehow? it is not in the list of older versions in my creative cloud window. Is there another way to find it?right now i got ae 2020 and that is a problem for me, as I would need motion4 for work and motion4 needs ae2021 or higher.very thankful for any help.

I updated my Mac, and AfterEffects has been a little wonky since. I just finished a project. It included some 3d layers--nothing I haven't used before, though. After it exports quicktime says, "this file contains some media which isn’t compatible with QuickTime Player." It asks if I wish to continue, and when I click yes it makes the video into an audio only. It's super annoying. I thought it might be because of some effect I used, so I screenrecorded the preview then exported the audio and put it over it. Still does not play. Somehow even the screenrecording .mov has "some media which isn’t compatible with QuickTime Player" which simply makes no sense.  I hate this.  Please help.

While third-party plugins can successfully use AEGP_DynamicStreamSuite’s AEGP_SetDynamicStreamFlag function to dynamically change the state of the AEGP_DynStreamFlag_HIDDEN flag, it doesn't seem possible to query the current state of that same flag via the AEGP_GetDynamicStreamFlags function. Querying the current flags via AEGP_GetDynamicStreamFlags seems to always return a set of flags where the AEGP_DynStreamFlag_HIDDEN bit is zero, no matter what the actual visibility of the corresponding parameter is. Note for forum admins: please move this to Bugs. I have a psd file consisting of 6 layers.Normally I can melt the layers together by clicking ctrl-e, but now nothing happens.Whats is wrong?

Hello,I'm new to After Effects and I'm struggling with handling colors. In Illustrator, I usually work with swatches and the color window, but in After Effects, I only see the color window with a picker. I have my color palette saved in the library, but I'm not sure how to apply these colors to shapes.Here's what I'm experiencing:1. I select the shape in After Effects.2. I try to apply a color from my palette in the library.3. The shape does not take the color from the palette.Can someone guide me on how to properly use the color palette from the library to color shapes in After Effects? Hello, when I enter After Effects 2024, even though I haven't imported a file, I get an invalid image file error.And my system profile is completely ok and I cleared my caches

Since we already know that cache discs are important and that we have to keep it on a diferent partition from the instalation/workspace i brought the question: are simply logical partitions (same ssd different partition) enought to work on the best performance possible? or bringing different ssds for each propurse results in the same outcome? logically when we're working on different ssds each one have full read/write available for each task while in a logical setup both virtual discs, lets say d: and e:, share the read/write values due a hardware limitation. To brink this discussion to a better level lets say we have  the following setup options: SETUP1  --> 1 ssd 1tb 6000mb read and writeSETUP2 --> 4 ssds 250gb 6000mb read and write  Both are splitted equally on space to System / Adobe Programs / WorkFiles / Cache

Hello, I have been having this problem with after effects it will not let me do anything. First, it will make both my computer screens go black then turn on and the after-effects screen looks like this.Sometimes it will do this right when it starts up or it will open then as soon as I click anything it will do it. after it will not let me do anything. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled and restarting my computer but nothing seems to help. any advice would be greatly appreciated. 

Hello! Goodnight. I'm trying to render in After Effects 2023 with the Lagarith LossLess 1.3.27 codec, and it shows this error. But when saving, I point to the average and render over it, the rendering works.  

I can't find a way to get SVG images into my composition. EPS is just drag and drop but SVG... I can't through any route.I must be missing something.

See image below. Issue: Save new project in folder A. Save another new project in folder B. Go to use Open Recent of project in A. Make changes and Ctrl-Shift S to save under ammended name, and it save not where the file resides but where I last saved a file in folder B. This is nonsense! If I use Open Recent, then when saving WE SHOULD ALREADY BE IN THAT FOLDER WHERE OPEN RECENT FOUND IT!!. I lost work because of this BS. I made changes to a file Open Recent, Saved As a new file but didn't realize it went into a totally different folder of a project I worked on recently. That project was finished, packaged and archived, with the work folder deleted. SAME FOLDER THAT AE SAVED AS TO, and I didn't realize. It also save a back-up file in that other folder. PLEASE FIX THIS!!! In the screengrab above you can see what I mean.

Hey there, i am using the expression  x = thisComp.layer("Audio").effect("Both Channels")(1);linear(x, 20,40, 0, 5) the error i get is: "Error: effect named ´Both Channels´ is missing or does not exist. It may have been renamed, moved, deleted or the name may have been mistyped" any ideas what the problem could be? What could be the replacement?

Thinking this may be a long shot but hoping someone can help. I'm trying to reproduce an effect similar to the one in this video but not as complicated. I will only have 8 bars and none will have "counters" attached to them. My plan is to manually keyframe the X position of the bars (because I'd like a certain amount of control with how these look). I would like to have an expression that shifts the ranking so any bar with a higher X value than any other bar shifts up on the Y axis.I was able to do this but the bars were simply switching Y position rather than tweening from one Y position to another. The Y positions for each bar are yPos = [420, 507, 594, 681, 770, 857, 944, 1031].Thank you in advance for any help or insight you can provide

1.First I go to 3D Track in Video.2.Then I add Solid in 3D.3. I copy and past layer 3D.4. I add Stroke in 1 Layer 3D.5. Then happen like  striped, marking , scratch marks , a lot of little pixel .6. All of that annoy me and when I move it I want to make a 2 Line in 1 Layer solid but the Line is scratch marks.7. So I go to do a loop with add Solid in 3D everytime and when I render It take so long Time.8. In 1 minute video I add 3D Solid about 40 Layer the Time render Export is 2 Hour .*** at the first when i use After Effect like 5 mount ago I can Copy and paste Layer of solid and doesn't have scratch marks and I use only 1 solid 3D layer and copy paste is very easy and the render Export of time is shorter than this time .  #Adobe #scratchmarksinAEI have no Idea what to do next I hop people come to see my Topic Thankyou.  

I defined a basic wiggle code [wiggle (4,8)]  on the position of a 3d object (xyz). How do I determine that the y-axis will not pass a certain value that I set for it? thanks

i saw a plugin that would dynamically name a pre-comp, but couldn't handle more than one layer at a time. i need to group individual animated characters, which are on their own individual layer ...so i can have pre-comps of the words. i have way too many to handle and typing the name for each pre-comp would take forever.Can you recommend code or a plugin to do this?i eventually will be trying to use monkey layer or something match the words to markers.

Hey there,I want to link the scatter of a CC Ball Action to my Audio layer (Audio layer is named Audio as well) with this expression: x=thisComp, layer("Audio Amplitude"), effect("Both Channels")("Slider")linear(x, 20,40, 0, 5) I get this error: "Error: ReferenceError: layer is not defined" I guess it has something to do with the layer part of the expression but i cant really figure out what it is, any ideas? thanks a lot!
