After Effects

Hi GuysI have Envato subscription and downloaded some envato AE project but when i try to import after the AE 24.1 update, I am not being able to open the project it keep crashing before it was opening but now it doesn't. (Mac user)

What would make the 3D camera stop respecting the Z space? My object is behind another in the 3D space, but the camera shows it is in front anyway. It worked at the beginning of my project, and now it isn't working anymore halfway through it; I'm not sure what key I might have pressed, but the active camera is on, and I can't find the problem.

I got a fresh new windows 10 and when trying to run after effects (fresh update), it gives me this error, because of which I am not able to import any video files. Tried reinstalling windows and after effects a bunch of times but the error doesn't go away.Please help, my projects are in frozen state because of this.

Ill be honest im a complete amatuer at using after effects. I use after effects 2022 on an imac, ive been having problems with my text where the quality seems fine when it first imports in, but once i add my effects and zoom it out a little the quality weakens, then once its rendered its barely readable in ways. Please help..

Short and sweet: I'm looking to parent both the sourcetext STYLE and sourcetext VALUE between comps. I have the elements here: srcLayer = comp("Basic Appearance_Social Media Lower Thirds").layer("Template 1st Line"); style = srcLayer.text.sourceText.style; text.sourceText.style .setText(srcLayer.text.sourceText) But no matter how I do this, I can only ever get half the desired result: in this configuration, the sourceText gets parented, but not the style, and if I put the "style" line below, I get the reverse--the style gets parented but not the sourceText value. I'm sure the answer is absurdly simple (as they usually are in these situations) but for the life of me I can't figure it out. Help???

Hello! So I have multiple projects on my computer and sometimes when i'm working on a new project that has similar effects to an older project, I will work out of the older one and can kind of copy and paste the effects I created before. My question is, I have a current project I'm doing but can't find an old AE project containing the similar effects. I have the exported clips, like the .MOV files I exported out of AE, but does anyone know a way to trace the roots of the video clip to locate the project I exported out of? I'm on a mid 2011 iMac. What on Earth is with the new "initializing GPU" process that keeps showing up whenever there is even a minor OS installation on my Mac? It sometimes takes ten minutes while the window slowly crawls to 100%, with a "Please stand by for playback." I could see waiting for this if After Effects was suddenly blazingly fast, but it seems to be the same old sluggish After Effects, just with a long wait to begin working.    Title edited by Mod.

So I'm new to AE but everytime I try to keyframe and change the path of a shape layer, it makes me move position, which I don't want. It doesn't allow me to easily click on the control points and move the control points. I try to click alt, shift or ctrl in case there's a trick but nothing. It's like 50/50 that I'm able to click on a control point to move it and keyframe it. What am I missing?

Hi all,  I'm working on some basic UI files in After Effects and the performance is pretty slow.  Here is my Mac setup: Macbook Pro M1 MaxMemory: 64GBStorage: 2TB (1.66TB free) I have an external SSD (Samsung T7 Portable SSD - 1 TB - USB 3.2 Gen.2) and have set my Disk Cache to use this drive (700 GB max allocated). The drive itself is two years old. Happy to purchase a new one if it there are any improvements to be had. I have read mixed opinions about an external SSD for AE, any advice here welcome. In terms of other settings, I have Adaptive Resolution set. Any advice would be great. ThanksLee Any advice welcome.  

Hello! I am working on a project where I have Trapcode Particular using a layer as an emmiter. I am then moving that layer in 3d space. I cannot seem to figure out why the emitter seems to be offset from the position of the layer. I have tried:Using a null for the Emitter position with the same positon keyframes as my layer.Using the Layer's position.Precomping the Layer itself to make sure there is nothign else going on.I have ensured that the layer and the particular solid is the same resolution as the comp that everything sits in.Nothing really seems to work! Attached are images showing what happens when I move my layer left to right in 3D space, as well as my Trapcode settings. If you have any idea how to help I would super appreciate it! Hi. I have after effects 24.1 and I've noticed that since I changed my mac to a macbook pro with M3 chip, After Effects exports black when im at home and but exports correctly when im at the office. Could someone help me understand why this is? Thanks.

Creating a new project, creating a camera, and going into the camera properties, all I see is the camera zoom option. No DOF or other properties. I have Adobe CC with all the latest updates, on MacOS 14.2  

Hi, Just a heads-up for some people who might encounter the same issue. I couldn't open an AE project file from an earlier version (2023) into 2024 - including any auto-saves. The warning message also mentioned cineware being an issue. Finally, I managed to open up the project in a BETA of AE, delete my C4D files in the project browser (along with the composition) and save. Then it would open up normally. I'm assuming there's some issue with an older version of cineware and C4D files that prevented it from being opened. Hopefully this might help someone out.

After Effects is freezing and making crash files when I'm opening it. What should I do?

Hallo!  Ich nutze die aktuellsten Versionen von Premiere und After Effects auf einem MacBook Pro 16", Ventura 13.2, 96GB Ram und habe Probleme bei der Wiedergabe meiner Timeline auf meinem externen Monitor BenQ PV3200PT, MiniDP auf USB C, 60hz. Wenn ich in AE oder P meine Timeline auf dem externen Monitor abspiele ruckelt es wie wild. Ziehe ich AE oder P auf den Monitor des MacBooks läuft alles smooth. Wenn ich das Premiere Fenster zB halb auf den MacBook Monitor ziehe und halb auf den BenQ habe läuft auch alles smooth.Sobald AE komplett auf dem externen Monitor ist, ruckelt die Wiedergabe wieder.  Es ist total egal, welche Art von Footage ich nutze.  BenQ ist schon komplett zurückgesetzt. Ich weiß nicht weiter.  Hat jemand eine Idee?  Herzlichen DankRoman

Hello guys,first of all I'm sorry if my english isn't perfect. I just started using AE and tryed following a tutorial to track a title to my video.All worked fine until I applied my tracking data to my null object, suddenly the preview windowstopped showing my Image. I searched here for solutions but didn't find anything, I closed AE and did it again, same problem after applying my tracking data.   The image above shows the new window where I tracked everything. I've animated a layer with multiple position keyframes, and now I want some of those keyframes - but not all of them - to have an overshoot expression applied. In other words, I want an expression to only affect certain specific keyframes on a layer.I've been told that it's possible to do this using a checkbox control and keyframe the expression on or off as necessary. Unfortunately, I have no coding experience and I can't work out how to link an expression to a checkbox such that the checkbox can be used to enable or disable that expression.Any advice gratefully received!

Hey everyone, just wanted to throw this out there to see if anyone had found a solution to the screenshot issue - where the start and end point is visible when using a circular audio wave?? I'd like it to look as if there isn't one.Thank youuuu 

i have a 7 day free trial for after effects and downloaded it and followed what it automatically did, it opened creative cloud and after effects isn't there? i'm able to search it up but when i click on it it just takes me back to the like start page and i'm not sure what to do, could anyone help?

In Premiere you get the option to Sequence > Render In to Out which renders out the selected portion of the timeline so there's no stuttering when playing it back in the program. Is there an option to do this in After Effects? Thanks

HI,I have rendered files with extra margin on all four sides.I can make it visible in Nuke, but I don't see any setting in After Effects, that enables them.The image seems just cropped, like having not that margin.(Also in Photoshop it is visible by default)Thanks for help 

Adobe recomends 16 GB memory. https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/system-requirements.html#macos But everyone on Reddit says that's way too little:https://www.reddit.com/r/AfterEffects/comments/1ah1ck4/which_is_better_for_after_effects_m2_macbook_air/Some people recommend, 32GB, 96GB, or even 128GB.  As I'm struggling to understand these stats, I'm a little despondant at the idea that I can't trust Adobe's own requirements. I'm just a hobbyist. I'm not processing huge, HD projects. What's an actual, useful list of stats for a Mac running AE?
