After Effects

For some reason, ever since I have started working in AE, I have sturggled profusely to get AE to work functionally in conjunction with Premiere pro. I am not sure if it is a dynamic linnk error, or a program error in AE, but it seems to be that the issue is only most prominent when trying to work in a combhined workflow. However, the app will crash excessively even when working exclusively in AE. My problems are listed below. As reference I usually create and store program files on an external drive. 1. Slow operation and run time that does not allow me to interact or rename files when i prompt premiere to "replace with AE Comp"2. AE crashes randomly when selecting to add a new adjustment layer, composition, or sequence, and lags heavily with lengthier commands. (My RAM is not an issue)3. I cannot add adjustment layers or solid layers without the UI blacking out partially and most of the HUD becoming unavailable.4. My resoultion in preview menus will randomly from to like 1/8 wit

Hey I'm wondering if anyone has advice for me.I'm a beginner, working on animating an illustrator file. I'd like to use the write on effect for some of the layers. It worked for one layer, but when I double click the next layer in after effects, it doesn't open the layer??I'd appreciate any help

Help, I cannot start Mocha Ae all of a sudden, and every time I try, I get this message. Immediately after hitting OK, Ae crashes. Error message:I have reinstalled, after effects and removed plugins. I did the same for premiere pro for good measure. I tried switching to open cl from cuda, I tried not using hardware at all. I tried installing a trial of MochaPro and that works. I did run in command prompt: sf/scan now. That didn't resolve the issue. when is the new update is going to take place in the stable version. Its great but the dissapointment of the latency of the masking tool in premiere beta didn't take place in the stable one is a little annoying. I know you can tell me  " then Get the BETA ! ". but its a little diffrent than the stable one and i need to work in a stable environment so i am sticking with the stable versions even when i need the features of the beta>for example i am still using the rortoscoping tell premiere getting the update.So if you know or guessing When is it going to take place ?

I've created an animation and placed properties into Essential Graphics, like I've done numerous times in the past. When I click to Export Motion Graphics Template, I'm able to choose where to save, etc., and it looks like it runs its process (I don't get any errors), however, when I look in the location I exported to, it's not there. I do a search for the exact file name, but nothing comes up. I have also updated all of my software.

Hi, I'm looking to create an "infinite zoom" but it's just an endless loop of one location/scene. When I searched for tutorials and help on this, all I could find is a zoom through multiple scenes/images/locations, which is not what I'm looking for.  What I'm thinking of is something more like this :  I found an infinite hallway tutorial where you build a 3D box of sorts using a photo and perspective tools, but I don't know if I can do that with nature or city scenery like the above GIFs.

Im trying to create a sphere of spinning flat circles. Currently I am using CC ball action to achieve the current effect I have, which is the style I am trying to achieve. I would like the balls to appear in one at a time however, I'm open to using a different effect if I can achieve a similar style, but with them appearing in one a a time. Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated, thank you!

How do you control the corner radius of a rounded rectangle box?

The previous version of After Effects, 24.0.3, is working fine. However, when I install version 24.3 (the latest version), I encounter an error message at startup: 'The Application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142).' I've checked everything, including DLL files, .NET Framework, etc. I've even uninstalled using CC Cleaner and reinstalled it, but the issue persists. I also tried installing version 24.2 and 24.1, but they also produce the same error message. Surprisingly, version 24.0 is working without any issues. Can anyone help me understand why version 24.3 isn't working, while 24.0 is functioning properly?

I wonder if there is any hollywood movies or feature film (non-hollywood) that used after effects as a main VFX tool? 

Hello,Since the release of the 25.0 updates (25.01 to 25.1) for After Effects, I’ve noticed a significant slowdown in the user interface (UI). The preview performance is also extremely sluggish (see the video I recorded).I’ve tried several solutions to fix the issue:Completely uninstalling and reinstalling After Effects,Checking for updates (software and drivers), etc.Unfortunately, the only way to restore normal performance is to revert to version 24.0. I’m certain this isn’t a hardware issue, as it’s directly linked to the 25.0 versions.Have you encountered this problem or found a solution?Please upvote this post so that the support team can notice and fix the issue quickly.

Hi!  I got accepted into a ae giveaway that had some presets. I had downloaded them and saved them to the “user presets” folder. I went to after effects to search for the user presets folder, but it wasn’t there. The whole file has seemed to disappear from ae. I was told to make a new folder on the program, name it user presets and save everything that was in the other file to the new one. But I can’t seem to figure out how to do that either. 

I have been trying to render in After Effects with various different file types. I tried media encoder as well. Both Crash. I'm using an external hd. Bought a new SSD USB C thinking the other drive may have been the issue. Still same thing. Can the Cache files be on the external hard drives or should they stay on the local drive?

Hi, I'm trying to stretch keyframes for several effects at once so they're further apart but keep them proportionally separate. I'm able to do this sometimes by clicking "option" + clicking on my mouse and moving them, but then other times when I do that, it moves them all at once without stretching them apart. Is there a reason why that's happening? Here's a video below to show I'm talking about.  I'm currently using AE 25.5.0 Build 4 on a Macbook Pro - with Apple M4 Pro chip.  Thanks for your help!

It's so frustrating. After Effects keeps crashing. I'm working with  computerPuget-252003-5Intel(r) Core (tm) i9-14900k 3.20GHZ64-BIT OPERATING SYSTEM, X64-BASED PROCESSOR STORAGE 8.38 TBGRAPHICS CARD 24GBINSTALLED RAM 128 I always get a error message to work in safe mode. manage 3rd party plugins. I'm working with a envato template. Sometimes i work fine all day then next day i have 20 crashes. I put in my email and send report to adobe but nothing happens. I do not want an error noise when I press the number keys when I have the 3c camera navigation unchecked. I do not use 123456 keys for navigation.Latest version of AE has started making a distorted error noise presumably to tell me that I am not using them as navigation. No 3d layers, classic or advanced 3d renderer. don't currently have other sound IO devices to check if it other hardware specific. GPU acceleration (rocket ship icon) frequently disables and I'm finding myself turning it back on over and over again. I'm not sure why, but this has been happening for a good year or so with each AE release still showing up. I'm using an RTX-3080 ti with studio drivers that always remains up to date with Windows 11. I always choose cuda as the option and when it's on, runs smoothly. I'll be working on a project and randomly glace over at my roket ship and notice it's in the grey and has tripped like a breaker. I feel this is a bug, but if there are any other potential reasons, please let me know. Thanks!
