After Effects

Greetings everyone, I have updated to After Effects 25.0 yesterday and found a serious/maior bug when comparing to After Effects 24. I'm working with large clips of resolutions up to 20480 x 144px. When I import a clip into AE 25, the clip suddenly has black solids at the left and right end. This isn't originally in the clips/artwork and this never happened before, neither in AE 24 nor in any previous versions. I have attached screenshots from a simple clip of 17664 x 144px that is only imported into After Effects, so I'm not talking about misinterpretation of existing project files or any of that. Simply drag & drop the clip in After Effects. As shown in the screenshots, After Effects 24 does it right while After Effects 25 adds black solids at the left/right ends.

so i updated from 24.6.3 to 25.0 and this weird flickering thing is happening whenever I'm playing anything( video is provided below) everything feels so choppy and stuttery , does anyone know how to fix this issuei have tried reinstalling after effects and my graphics drivers but the issue is still there  cpu: 5700xgpu: 4070 ti super , drivers: nvidia studio drivers 565.90ram: 32 gbos: windows 11

AE doesn't stop freezing for 3 days, I reseted my preferences, running on safe mode but it's still freezing every 2 min. Max Sequoia. In attachement I have my log.

I'm having issues launching After Effects of any version (24.6.3 & 25.0) as well as in Safe Mode. It finishes loading after the initial splash screen, but stops and freezes when loading the window (white screen). Attached is a visual of what appears on my end. I'm used to slow-er load in times, but I've let it wait to "load" for 10 minutes and nothing changes. When attempting to close the program, it also gets stuck trying to recover my information. No third-party plugins are installed, and launching in safe mode produces the same results. Reinstalling both versions also did not fix this issue. 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1255U 1.70 GHz16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable) RAM64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

aerender command line does not render compositions with cineware. How to fix this? New project, 1 composition, very simple project opened in cineware. When trying to render via command line, it just hangs on the line "progress...".

I routinely render out Premiere projects as intermediate Pro Res MXF OP1a files for addition of motion graphics etc in After Effects. The new 2025 version of After Effects reports that  '****.mxf cannot be opened, may be in an unsupported fomat' with error code (86::1). This is true whether opening a previous After Effects project with such files already imported, or trying to import a brand new one in a fresh project. It appears to affect all my projects that use .mxf files in this way, including ones completed only last week using the 2024 suite. I am running a Windows 10 PC (22H2) with 32GB RAM and an RTX 4090 graphics card.

Hi! Kompositionen / Clips ab 19000px Breite werden mit einem schwarzen Rand angezeigt. Hier muss bitte schnell nachgebessert werden. Das Rendern scheint normal zu verlaufen, aber es sorgt für Fragezeichen und keinen guten Workflow. CheersTimo

In AE 2025 and Beta.Sticky expressions work well the first time, but then it just gets worse and worse,we end up with a large black rectangle that keeps growing.This concerns fairly long expressions.   

This  happens every time I try to look at a preview in after effects in the 2021, and 2024 version as well as premiere pro 2023. It does not happen in after effects 2020 for some reason. I have already tried the basics like reinstalling drivers, updating windows, updating all my drivers, reinstalling, etc and nothing seems to work. For some reason I do get a preview when I disable my nvidia gpu, but when I reenable it the preview freezes and then turns like this again when I restart after effects. Does anytone know a fix? 

After Effects keeps showing the infamous error: overflow converting ratio denominators. (17 :: 19) when Iopen a some comps in my project to edit them, and after the error message the comps seems like they were empty, but the layers are there, since when I hit play the animation shows up. There is no video file in any of those comps so no, there is noframe rate issue. There are just a bunch of photoshop layers with simple animations, some masks and so, but none of them is hidden (shy)... so I'm kind of frustrated with the situation. I even tried opening older versions of the project but the error persists. Please help!!

Acabo de actualizar el paquete adobe a la versión 2025. Tengo un proyecto de Premiere en el que importé composiciones de After Effects 2025. Al abrir el proyecto se rompe el vínculo entre Premiere y AE, y al volver a vincular los medios, un cartel me dice que tengo que tener instalado el AE2025, el cual ya tengo instalado, y con el que creé esa composición. Tengo todo el paquete Adobe, pero por algún motivo el dynamic link no está funcionando.

I have an issue. in ae 23 everything worked fine when rendering out video or photo, now in AE24 it messes up the color profile or something. So everything comes out as dark.  So I need to manually go to render setting every time and change the color output to "sRGB 2.1"   not the default "Working Color Space- sRGB 2.1" ??    So it messes up the gamma. I went over every setting to make sure they are the same in 23 and in 24, but for some ever reason it is not rendering it out in right color space...??

Whenever I'm trying to Replace With After Effects composition, the footage gets overexposed in after effects, and the only workaround I have found is exporting the clip. then working in after effects, and then importing the composition. I am working on v25 for both AE and Premiere

The new AE update is so bad, simple task clash a few times! And non of them are saved! I am using Mac Studio Ultra man, if Adobe cannot make better update, please don't update!

PC - Intel i9 processor, 2GHz, 64MB of RAM.After Effects v25.0.  No plug ins.  I also stop running any other apps or processes to give AE the machine's focus.Tracking initializes and then freezes, usually within the first 30 frames or so.  Not consistently the same frame when I retry.

Hi.  I am having a general visual update issue.  Trying to open a folder in the project panel, and I can't see the content of the folder. Sometimes it won't update at all. It's there, but visually, it's like a ghost of what was there before. It does the same when creating a new comp. Any new action doesnt show. Sometimes the scroll bar will not appear at all on the right and I can't navigate the project.  It's there but visually, it's like a ghost of what was there before.  Happens in the comp panel as well.  Sometimes in the viewport, I need to change frame so it updates to the recent changes. Happens on and off and appears to be random. Same issue in versions 24.6.2 and 24.6.3 Windows 11 homeNvidia RTX 3090 driver 565.90Windows is up to date. Any idea how to solve this ?Thanks ! 

Buenas noches, hace un par de dias que salio la actualizacion de los programas 2025, tanto en premier, como en after, he tenido errores; en premier para las rampas, la reproduccion es mala, sin ningun efecto un clip de 10 segundos e igual en after effects, agrego el clip y al reproducir, aunque la calidad sea cuarto en la mas baja, va muy mal; no me pasaba en versiones anteriores, como puedo volver a la 2024? o que solucion, dado que pense eran los Drivers, pero con todos son iguales, tengo una 3070, i5 10400, 32 de ram y disco m.2

On After Effects, I've been working on a project created with .mxf video files. This was on a Macbook Pro. I recently switched to a Windows machine, when I open the converted project on After Effects, I get an error mesage saying the file is unsupported. Any help on this? How do I convert the .mxf video file to something AE will read? I need a solution that doesn't require restarting the entire project.

Hey all, so I teach an AE class and i'm finding that when I use a light with a 3d object I'm getting tons of harsh banding. When I open the same file on a Mac banding is fairly minimal. Any idea why? PC is a big heafty workstation, lots of GPU mem, and processing etc. Mac pro's at school are a few years old. I've tried uping render quality, made color space 32 still no change. Also this is fairley recent, haven't run into this issue in the past.
