After Effects

1. Double click on missing media.2. Attempt to search for file using Windows Search function in upper right hand side 3. Nothing happens  Windows 11. Confirmed same happening with a coworker AE 2024.4.1 Windows search functions normally in Explorer. 

A wave selector expression with delay doesn't display correctly in right-to-left languages (like Persian) by default.The only workaround I found is to make the copy layer . The expression written in the first layer is actually correct, but when it is placed in the composition alone, the expression value is not calculated correctly. However, miraculously, when a copy layer with the same expression and a different delay is placed in the composition in the visible state, the expression calculations for the first layer are performed correctly. Create a copy of the layer and change the delay value in the copy. This will temporarily fix the issue. However, if you disable the visibility of the second layer, the calculations in the first layer will revert to the incorrect state

AE crashes when adding extra points to an already-created Roto Bezier shape when at 800% zoom level. The crash usually occurs after adding 2 or more additional points using the CMND+OPTION+Click shortcut.ver 2023.2.1.  Mac OS. Monterey 12.5.1Expected result: New point added to an existing mask shape.Result: AE crashes. App automatically quits. 

Version 2023 and 2024Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1 I noticed a weird bug in After Effects where it’s impossible to change the type/character RGB value (or corresponding hexcode) by a single point. Doesn’t seem to be an issue for effects such as fill, just the type color you'd find in the Character Window. For example, I set up type at 241/101/51, and if I try to switch it to 240/101/51, it just switches right back.I think a workaround is to do a more significant change first, then punch in the correct number, but just wanted to point out this bug.

I have tried to reinstall AME and AE, but still the Queue in Ame is greyed out. I can go to file export to AME and it sends the file over, but the button in the render que is still inactive. Is there a way to fix this?

After changing my RAM (32Gbs) for 2 sticks of the exact same model and using After Effects, even when the memory other apps were allowed to use was over 10Gbs and they were barely using 3Gbs, After Effects just kept using more and more memory until it couldn't anymore and failed to allocate any more memory, the only way I am able to continuously work on a project is by constantly freeing up memory using MSI center's tools.I doubt it is a problem with my memory, but I can never be too sure, is there any way to fix this?SpecificationsWindows 11 Version 23H2 (0S Build 22631.3672)After Effects (244.1)CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D 8-Core ProcessorMotherboard: MPG B550 GAMING PLUS (MS-7C56)GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x16GbThe problem occurs on any project I work on.The expected behaviour is for After Effects to not keep filling up my memory without getting rid of unused memory.

For some reason when I try and drag and drop any media from the left menu on to my timeline it doesn't do anything, as if the file isn't even there. It had no issues yesterday. How can I fix this bug?

Tengo este error que no me deja editar tranquilo. Lo peor es que hace unas semanas andaba muy bien. Hasta que aparecio este error.Tengo 32gb de ram y en general, una buena pc.Los componentes estoy seguro que es lo de menos, ya que como dije, me andaba muy bien antes.Tampoco sirve subir todo la ram disponible y limpiar la cache, no hace nada.

I cannot find any solution to this error message in After Effects:Beim Verarbeiten dieses PDF-Dokuments ist ein Fehler aufgetreten (1074953797)(meaning: processing error of pdf document) This happens when I load compositions, after I have edited them a couple of times. 1. There are no pdf documents inside2. Checked RGB3. Cleared Caches etc. Any ideas? I am loosing more and more trust in these products..  

I've been having this issue with After Effects for a very long time. I'm running the latest version on Windows 10. I could post my system specs but I feel they're inconsequential in this case. Every time I update the software I am hopeful that this bug has been fixed. But each time for the past several years I've been disappointed. So I guess it's time to post about it. Here goes: Sometimes, when I copy text from another piece of software (Chrome, Premiere, Firefox, and Notepad are a few I commonly use) and paste it into After Effects, After Effects does not like to paste the text I've just copied. Instead, it chooses to paste some previously copied text, usually the second most recent text I've copied. At first, I thought I may have failed to copy the text I wished to paste. But the text will paste just fine in other software. It's present on the clipboard (Win + V), and I've tried using the clipboard and clicking on the text I wish to paste. Hi, I'm using AE 24.4.1 , and created a project with a single composition and a single paragraph text, to do scripting tests. When running the following script, the value doesn't update if "pos = [0, 0]" var txt = layer.sourceText.value; var pos = [0, 0]; txt.boxTextPos = pos; layer.sourceText.setValue(txt); If pos[0] is not null, or pos[1] is not null, the position updates.The bug seems to occur only with [0, 0]. 

Hi, I develop a plugin that relies on composition markers and layer markers to store metadata. Bug found on 23.6.2 , reproduced on 24.4.1 I was surprised to see that the limit of the comment of the markers had been upgraded, I can store 10MB without problem in a marker when there was a hardcoded limit like 4KB or 8KB limit a few years ago if I remind correctly. From the script, there is no time problem, it seems to be instant (10MB takes about 1s to store). From the UI, there is just a little problem, the modal display time increases with the comment content...  To reproduce the bug:- start from an empty project- create a composition- run the following script (I use ESTK)- right click (on the composition marker) -> settings  var comp = app.project.item(1); var amount = 1000 * 1000; // 1 MB var comment = (new Array(amount + 1)).join("x"); comp.markerProperty.setValueAtTime(2, new MarkerValue(comment)); This code creates a marker with

App Version: AE  24.4.1,   24.4,   24.3Windows 11 CONTEXT:Recently I was working in AE, and suddenly when I came back to work on my project it crashed on Startup, specifically on the "Initializing Audio" step. I spent a whole week troubleshooting AE, updating graphics and audio drivers, uninstalling AE, reinstalling, making a clean wipe of Creative Cloud, deleting preferences, starting in safe mode, EVERYTHING I could think of.  PROBLEM:Turns out, there is a problem with the MSI Sound Tune addon provided via the MSI Center. The addon was added when I reinstalled the App and didn't turn off the option to not include it. I searched through the crash logs and made some dump files to try and see what went wrong. It appears AE requests for a AudioDeviceName and something doesn't appear to be working and I presume an empty string is returned. When that happens, AE doesn't appear to have any failsafe and just crashes when that happens.  SOLUTI

When the Brightness in Preferences is set all the way to “Lighter” appearance, the group headers within the Libraries window are not visible because they are the same color as the interface. To recreate:After Effects > Settings > Appearance > BrightnessThe darkest color setting shows the headers fine, but they are less visible as you adjust the brightness to lighter. The expectation would be that the header colors should always be in a lighter color, like the rest of the interface, so that there is enough contrast and you're always able to see them. AE Version 24.4.0 (Build 47)macOS 14.4.1 (Sonoma)

hi,AE 24 don't support SLI ? (in advanced 3d mode)i have 2 RTX 2080TI in SLI, after to loose my time to understand why my GPU was'nt supported(like mentionned at the opening by After Effect) i tried to desactivated the SLI, and surprise... finaly supported.. but only with one RTX Card ..Could be possible to prevent the users of this bug ?(or don't have a this wrong message at the opening of AE24)thanks B.

I have a project that I've inherited. It used the Symbol font. I see that it does not show up on Mac or PC. It does however work fine in Illustrator.  Is there a reason for this? I can't find a workaround Dave 

When I click on “Create Reference Frame” I get the following error: After Effects error: Can't import as a sequence. In any AE Team Project, when I right click on a Composition the context menu entry "Open in Essential Graphics" is greyed out as shown in the screenshot below: When I do the same in a conventional AE Project which is a clone the menu entry is available as expected: Neither is it the case that Essential Graphics are generally unavailable for the Team Project Composition, because I can still manually select it in the Essential Graphics panel in the "Primary:" drop-down list: However, for projects with many compositions it is not practical to open the huge dropdown list every time and look for the current composition there. In fact, this is currently the biggest roadblock that prevents us from switching to Team Projects. Therefore, I would be most grateful for any help in this matter.
