After Effects

Hello.  My after Effects has been crashing continuously for several months now, on not very big projects. I am lost. I have piles of ram/memory. Am up to date version wise.  I can't even have chrome/google open, or any other programmes/apps alongside. All my info is below:Is it my graphics card? plugins? memory?Memory: Graphics:   Storage: I use D drive which is SSD plugins/extensions: Many thanks in advance.... 

Hi. Are there any new developments/features that allow me to block C4D from being constantly installed? Please try to answer precisely. I am not interested in a thread regarding how great C4D is.  Thank you 

 This has been happening for years and I'm finally at the end of my line here. Does anyone know how to fix this? I have to turn 'show layer controls' on twice an hour. I can't believe that I'm always hitting the hot key on accident. It's starting to drive me CrAZy!  Has there been a fix for this? 

Hello, i would like to report a bug found in the Puppet Position Pin Tool.When using a character that's animated with a Null Object, I tried to apply the Puppet Position Pin Tool to make small movements in the character's body parts. However, after the recent update, the pins and mesh no longer follow the character's position correctly — everything becomes misaligned and glitchy.

I am a beginner in AE and primarly focused on learning text motion animations. However for my editing I need the Time Line to be in seconds instead of frames and shows (e.g. 2:00f). I have watched countless of videos and read articles but I have no idea how to change it. I have AE 2025.

Hi everyone,  I am facing some issues with After Effects 2022.I am running Windows 11 on a Dell Inspiron 15 5510, Intel Core i7-11370H at 3.30GHz, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVME SSD, Iris Xe Graphics. Every time I open the app, it runs fine, I get 2 mins of proper functioning, then, preview freezes, and then the app stops responding. I tried giving it maximum RAM, it has 13GB for adobe apps. The same problem persists, I have even tried turning off hardware acceleraion and using Mercury Only without GPU. Any help in this matter would be highly appreciated.

I had it on by default so whenever I've started a new comp or an entire new project, each time I would edit keyframes on the graph the fit view option would be kept on by default. This is no longer the case here. Everytime I open it I can't see the keyframes or anything. I always have to click "Fit all graphs to view". Is there a way to change this back? Because I can't find such option.

When using essential properties for text, a bug occasionally causes text jitter issues during rendering. This result is unpredictable but usually occurs after editing the text with essential properties. The problem occurs when using optical kerning with essential properties. The fix for now: when using text in essential properties, ensure the kerning is set to "metric" instead of "optical." Hey all,This is one of those questions I USED to know the answer to... but I'm coming back to AE after having basically not used it for several years, so I don't remember how this worked, and for some weird reason, I can't find the answer. I have a piece of footage that is shorter than the entire composition. I want to freeze the last frame and hold it there until the composition reaches its end point. I do not want to change the timing of anything in the footage/layer itself-- just freeze and hold the last frame. It really seems like "freeze frame" SHOULD do this, but it just shows a frozen frame (converted the avi file to a still image in this instance, I think.) I need a frozen still of the *last* frame that will last for the duration of the entire comp. Please help me remember how this is done!! Thanks for all help and advice.

I have an After Effects file that was working totally fine earlier today, but now I cannot open the file.  When I do, it just lingers on the "Open Project" screen, shortly followed by "(not responding)".  I also cannot open any of the Auto-Save files, even the ones from yesterday in which I know the file was working fine. The file has Dynamic Links to a Premiere Project I am working on.  I've tried opening After Effects using the Ctrl+Alt+Shift Click method to clear preferences; I've cleard the cache; copied file to new location and drive; removed MEDIA folder to try to break links.  All have the same result.... If the file is corrupt, why would the auto-save files also not be working?  This makes me wonder if there is something fishy going with the Dynamic Links... Please help!

afterefectsを入れたばかりなのですが、再生をすると途中でプレビューのインジケーターが止まってしまいます。映像は正常に流れています。プロジェクトも一つもなく、キャッシュも一切溜まっていない状態です。PCは、Dell Alienware Aurora R16 ゲーミング デスクトップ GEFORCE RTX4090 corei9-14900KF RAM64GBを使用しています。PCのスペック的には問題ないと思うのですが、どなたか原因を知っている方がいたら教えてほしいです。

Unable to Open latest major release on my Laptop, whilst v24.x LTS works fine. Can you point me in the right direction as to where I may be able to pull log files to analyse further. 

Anytime i make a composition and i put the FPS above 15 the preview slows down to 10ms render time and i cant seem to fix it. i can add as many effects as i want but when i go above 15 fps it slows. i have 64 gbs of ram and 58 allocates, an intel i7, a 4060ti, and 200 gbs free on my storage disc. no matter what i do from every post i have read it will not work. if anyone has an idea on how to fix this without mentioning ram, storage, cache, etc please help

Hello,I’m experiencing a persistent low‑resolution issue in After Effects, and I can’t figure out the cause.Here are the details:Compositions are set to 1920×1080 (Full HD).Draft 3D is OFF.Adaptive Resolution is OFF (Preview set to Full).VC Orb plugin is being used (textures are 6K resolution).Color settings in the project: 32 bpc.Preview scaling is 100% in the Comp panel.Output still looks noticeably softer compared to tutorials using identical settings.Things I’ve checked:The textures are confirmed to be high‑resolution (6K JPG).Gamma/Brightness settings match the tutorial.I’ve tested with multiple comps and cameras.Additional example:The same low‑resolution effect happens in another comp where I use CC Ball Action (screenshot attached). Even at 1080×1080 or 1920×1080 comps, the small elements look blurred compared to the expected sharp result.Question:What else could cause low resolution in both plugins/effects when all settings appear correct? Hello. I need to install Adobe After Effects 2022 (version 22.x) for compatibility with existing projects. It's not available in Creative Cloud. Could you provide the offline installer or help me install this version?

When I fully render, in that frame/moment between the switch of layers appearing the two layers of the legs are grayed out. Like perhaps it is showing those two layers at half opacity. This glitch doesn't show inside the composition, only when rendering. When I scrub it looks totally normal when going from one frame to the next. I have tried overlapping and turning off the opacity manually instead but that doesn't help either. When I have them fully overlapping (weirdly showing four legs) it appears to render just fine. What is happening? 

Hi! I'm relatively new to AE and had a question about the best way to go about this design. I have this vector below, everything is seperately editable, and my goal is to create this kind of pulsing animation from the center. I've never done something like this with so many components. Any advice? Thank you guys!

After effects crashes on both old and new projects. It started doing this problem about a month ago, before that, everything worked fine. I work on Imac 2020, intel i7 with 40 gigs of ram and external disks (HDD SSD). I tried to solve the problem by switching from 2023 to 2025 and also changed OS from Big Sour to Sequoia, but the problem is still there.

Not sure what's causing this, but everything was fine in Geolayers 3 until I clicked the "Finalize" button.Now I have entire sections of my map vanishing. Has anyone else run into this issue with Geolayer 3?  

Hello all, Im trying to achieve the solitaire ending / Windows XP glitch effect using the Echo effect similar to this reference.https://giphy.com/clips/laguarimba-glitch-guarimba-film-festival-VWKZo6eOpI9C58M2k1 I pretty much want the echos made to stay forever and not move based on the path the animated object goes. I know there is an expression out there for the echo effect that can achieve this, but I just can not find it for the life of me.  Does anyone know this expression? Or perhaps a better way to achieve this effect?
