After Effects

Hey, I’m buying an M4 laptop for work - it’s all low impact infographics type stuff, so I’m not worried about power, I just want it to last a couple years. I'm thinking of either an M4 with 32 GB RAM or M4 pro with 24 - can someone in Adobe world please let me know if 24 GB RAM will meet the system requirements for the next couple of years? 💲

TLDR: i have two layers (A and B) and each has a mask. The masks dont even intersect but for whatever reason layer A is still blocking layer B that is  underneath 

There is a shortcut to activate maximize mode, but I need this to be the default mode when opening AE, is this possible? thanks.

I know two ways:The Maximize Panel shortcut tilde will not go full screen all the way. Then there is the Preview Panel where I can check box "Full Screen" so that the spacebar will launch me on and off full screen. But then I'm bound to that behavior unless I uncheck the box again. Half the times I want it to preview fullscreen and the other half not. Having to use the mouse to check and uncheck that box... feels like there should a method that is quicker and easier

I am using premier and masking on AE but when I save after masking in AE, the video clip on premier gets displayed to the left. I don't know why. Everything is same the frame rate size of composition.

Hi. My original comp was set to 30 seconds. I quickly ran out of space. So I went into the comp prefs and changed the duration from 30 to 90 secs. Then, I continued animating into the additional 60-second area. Now, when I play back the animation, the comp goes blank after 30 secs, even though the opacity on all the elements is turned up to 100%. How can I fix this?

Bonjour,Je début avec After Effect et pour le plaisir j'ai essayé de suivre un tuto.Sur ce tuto, on demande à plusieurs reprises de faire un double-cli sur une forme (elipse) et la forme va se mettre par défaut centrée et aux proportions de la composition.Si je le fais, ma forme sera centrée, mais elle dépassera le format de ma composition (envi. 200% plus grande, en gros mon elipse ne sera qu'un fond ou un bord non visible, il faudra que je la réduise pour la voir).Comment puis-je corriger pour que mon elipse prenne les dimenions de ma compostion automatique et pas en allant sur transformer...taille....etc car pour la suite de mon tuto, la forme devient un masque et avec la réduction de taille ça ne match pas

This tutorial shows how to create a realistic 3D planet using Blender, starting from a simple sphere and adding textures and rings. This Review / Tutorial is slightly different to my usual videos. After publishing many tutorials on how to create planets in After Effects, whether directly or using Video Copilot Orb or Maxon Cinema4D Lite, I thought it was time to tackle Blender. In the main part of this video, I show how to create and texture a sphere, including how to use the Shading Node editor and how to change a Height or Bump map into a Normal map to add displacement. Since AE 2025 came along, I keep getting this error message during startup on my Mac: After EffectsAfter Effects warning: The following plugins have failed to load. Please reinstall these plugins:/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/ NeuralEnhancementSuite.plugin I don't know if I need that plugin, or how to make the error message go away. Is that easy to do?  

Hi, Any help is welcome on making my decimal work in the increase. I have a text (number) with slider control so it is animated to go from 1.0 to 10.0.I have used the round expression with 1 decimal.expression used: Math.round(effect("Slider Control")("Slider")).toFixed(1) Problem is: it shows the decimal structure but the decimal is only showing 0 (zero), not animating. wanted:1.11.21.3etc.2.02.1 currently1.02.0

I have a 4 minute clip from a helicopter going over Turnback Canyon on the Alsek River in the Yukon. It has some bad reflections of stuff that was on the dashboard of the helicopter. I am looking for someone to fix the video, which I assume After Effects would be the right tool. I have 2 images 1920x1080. They are hand drawn art. I want to create a 5 second morph between the two images.  In my efforts so far Luma seems to complete reinterpret my drawings and do its own thing, instead of giving my the pixel-by-pixel standard morph I'd like to achieve (faces turn into human faces and start doing things I don't want them to do).  Party of my goal is to do abstract morphing, but most of the AI tools out there try to turn your artwork into more photorealistic movie-like motion. Are there any morph tools that work well as an image tweener like traditional morphing (but ideally take advantage of AI to make smart decisions)? I am told RE: Flex is a good solution - but I think $595 is out of my budget. This is for a project, so I plan to do this quite a bit, but I can't spend that much. I know there are traditional Morph tools (like Fanta Morph) but the tedious method of placing pins for what will ultimately result in well-positioned fades doesn't appeal to m

I have applied a blur effect to a top layer of animation, a rain effect, and the effect is being applied to every layer below it. This happens with any effect. When I have applied effects to layers in the past, it has only affected that layer. What is happening? Thank you for the help!

I have found an issue that is driving me crazy when rendering any video in After Effects.I am not sure if it is related to the last version of After Effects (I am using CC 2018), the last version of my Mac Book Pro, which is High Sierra, or both together. The truth is that is has never happened to me before.When I render a video, no matter which format I choose it renders the video with washed out colours, or as if something had happened with the saturation of the picture.This is the original illustration inside After Effects :This is the results when I open the video on QuickTime (or importing the video to Photoshop in order to get the frames apart):Note: thumbnails of Illustrator look the same on my desktop (washed out) + If I open the video in VLC colours are displayed correctly.There must be something wrong with either CC or Mac.If someone knows how to solve it, please let me know, I need to deliver a few projects and I haven't managed to find a solution,Thanks,

Aeroplane is not blur when it hit the last frame otherwise it is blur. What is reason for that? video is attached  

I’m interested in developing C++ plugins for After Effects, but I’ve noticed that the recent SDKs no longer include the required .lib files for plugin development. I’ve read that older SDKs (such as the 2019 version) did include these libraries. Is there any official way to download older After Effects SDKs, like the 2019 version, or to access the .lib files that were included with them?

Hi, I'm working on an animation project and I'm stuck on a specific scene. I have a longhorn beetle model with separate elements (elytra, abdomen, antennae, body, legs, etc.). I want to animate the beetle lifting off from a tree and flying away, but I'm unsure how to animate the flapping wings, (+pulsing abdomen) in sync with the beetle's flight. Is there a way to anchor or link these individual elements together, so they can continue their respective animation sequences while the beetle flies away?  here is a link to the animation so far so if it helps to visualize: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DLk-x01xpz5/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link 

I am trying to use AE SDK to set the text style of the text in text layer, but I cannot find the relevant API; AEGP_SetText looks similar, but I'm not sure how to use it and there's no relevant description in the documentation

Running AE 17.5.0 Build 40 on an ASUS StudioBook Laptop with xeon 6 core processor and mobile gtx 2080. The project is a large after effects file, 173mb, as it is being used for 11 simultaneous how-to videos with very minimal motion graphics, ipad screen captures, and C100 video footage shot in AVCHD.  The project is a complex, carry-over project updating videos from years ago or I would start a new, smaller project file. The issue I am having is that sometimes, when I press spacebar, the composition plays but the playhead doesn't move to the new position when I stop it.  Also when this happens, there is no red-line-time-indicator that moves across the composition.  When this happens, I am forced to restart the project to get my current location indicator back.  The playheard seems to scrub accross the composition just fine, but this is a pretty serious hinderance to my workflow, constantly restarting the software. Also, saving is very slow.  Ple

How to change Aspect Ratio without resizing the comp?I sometimes work with 4:3 or 32:9 videowalls but the file must be FHD 1920x1080.I can't enter the correct ratio. I always have to import a picture created in Photoshop with that size and aspect so that after effects create a correct composition.I tried making a template with that comp but it only works for the session, if you exit AE and come next day, the preset creates a comp with the correct size but the ratio will be wrong .Is there anyway to create an aspect ratio template to add to the ones at the drop down list? Thank youAntonio

Hello, I am new on here, until now I have had very little issues. I have this warning coming up when I open some of my After Effects template projects. These are downloaded Entato projects etc. I have used them many times and even the same ones I have used over and over are doing this now.  First is says - After Effects warning: Error with fileThen it says - After Effects warning: The file format module could not parse the file (45::36) When this happens it looks like files are missing and the colours are all messed up. Florecent and super bright.  I don't think its a currupted file due to using the same template many times with no issues.  Any ideas?  I am on a brand new 2020 iMac Pro with tons of ram. No issues with anything else or any other programs.
