After Effects (Beta)

Is it just me, or are the cursor icons missing? Hand, arrows(leftRight) and so on... I just see the default arrow

I wanted to see how fast the M1 would roto.  Opened clip I used before on different machine.  Selected person then tried to frame through roto.  CRASH right away.

Crashes when applying Look to adjustment layer from Library     Mac M1 laptop

I have a single file sequence in .exr that I am bringing into AE (both regular release and beta). I am using the ACES color space.  The Beta Vectorscope shows the colors accurately and match Premiere's scopes. But the scopes in the regular AE 2023 release are way out of whack. Every setting is identical in each program. Shots are attached. Could this because because of the new OCIO implementation in AE Beta? If so, I wish they'd fix the scopes in the regular releaase to read properly.    

There is no problem with OCIO settings in color management, but in the Japanese environment of the Mac version, a Unicode error occurs when trying to use OCIO for effects.This can be avoided by starting OS and Ae in English mode; the Windows version has no problem in Japanese environment.

Hi,i'm having the same issue but a different error code, 127 whihc i supposed to be resolved following the troubleshoot. Allowed my win10 user to gain all rights on the temp folder, reboot the system and disabled the AV. The percentage indicator slows at 47%, takes minutes to reach 48% and after a few minutes comes up with failure alert, "Unable to install". I've tried several times, the log states as follows:"Exit Code: 127 -------------------------------------- Summary -------------------------------------- - 1 fatal error(s), 12 error(s), 0 warnings(s) FATAL: Error occurred in extract of package (Name: AdobeAfterEffectsBetaBetaAllTrial_maxon Version: 23.1.0.62). For the longest time now, scrolling through a lengthy list of color spaces has annoyed me from Color Profile Converter to the new OCIO Color Space Transform effect. Now that we have this brand new OCIO effect, let's do it right and finally add a scroll bar! And while we're at it, let's get it added to Color Profile Converter, too. Notice there's no scroll bar to the right. Instead, you have to hover at the bottom or top of the list to slowly scroll up or down. Ever pick the wrong items and need to swap the input and output? Well, hope you enjoy scrolling some more. However, the scrollbar appears when interpreting the image. I know these are two different UIs, but they display the same content. One is easy to quickly scroll through while the other is really annoying. Let's come up with a solution. And while we're on this topic, let's also add a Swap button to flip the input and outputs around for both OCIO Color Space Transform and Color Profile Converter.

Is it possible to import a light probe or environment for a .glb file. I think that this would be an essential feature. The ability to import a light probe or enviromental sphereical or cube map that the model could respond to would be great. Steps to reproduce:Select a layer whose anchor point is not at its center.Layer > Transform > Center anchor point in layer content Result: Anchor point does move to the center of the layer, but the layer's position changes dramatically, moving to a different area of the comp. My Mac is M1 and has 32GB of memory. It says "low memory warning ram use has been extended for previews" every 1-5 minutes, which drives me nuts.When AE Beta shows this warning, I checked my Mac memory and the remaining memory is 13~20 GB.I set RAM reserved for other applications at 3 GB and RAM available for AE at 29 GB on the preferences.So I guess this problem is not about my Mac, but AE Beta. This issue has started since I updated AE Beta in the new version last week(I hadn't updated AE Beta for a couple of months). It affects my work and time so badly.Please fix it and increase compatibility with Apple Silicons. 

It would be nice if the preview menu in the monitor output had the option, like in adobe premiere, to be able to view content in HDR. When previewing through a blackmagic card, color options appear in premiere, in after effects, when working in aces, the preview output does not have any option to correctly preview the color on an external monitor and it looks dark

We heard you.   The great thing about having a Beta community is getting to test out new ideas and see if they work as expected. When we updated the Exposure control UI to be consistent with other newer controls in our composition toolbar, we ran user tests and read the feedback. In this case, the benefit of consistency is not proving useful compared to the extra clicks it required. And so, as of today's Beta (build 22.3.0 x35), we are reverting the Exposure control to its original layout.Thank you so much for your continued feedback, it really does matter.

I've noticed when importing a PNG image into the new OCIO-ACES beta, the Utility-sRGB-Texture profile doesn't apply correctly in 32bit.  On the left is a PNG logo imported and interpreted with Utility-sRGB-Texture and then viewed in comp with ACES/Rec709. Result is not what I expect. On the right is the same logo with Preserve RGB on import and then with an OCIO Colorspace Transform applied changing it from Utility-sRGB-Texture to ACEScg. Result is correct. These two should match but they don't. What's interesting is this project is in 32-bit, which is what is necessary for ACES. However, if I happen to change this to 8-bit, then the logos match. Maybe that tidbit will help you find the bug. Furthermore, when testing other file formats, the problem doesn't seem to appear. So far JPG and TIF with this same logo seem to work fine. It's just PNG that causes the problem.

Hi,Sometimes when a layer's video switch is turned off the composition view doesn't update. It stays stuck on the previous image, with the layer visible even if it's turned off. When clicking anywhere it updates suddenly, just by clicking on the interface.Thanks for your support.François Colou

DescriptionIt seems that it is possible to import 3D assets via scripting, but users encounter an options dialog upon import before the asset is ready in the project.  Can we get scripting support for that particular import options dialog?   We want users to be able to either accept the defaults of the dialog, or have scripting access to those settings, possibly in AE's Import object.  In essence, the objective is to be able to import 3D file types "silently" without user interaction via scripting. Why is this valuable?Some of Templater users want to automatically re-version their composition with various 3D object source files.  These users can accomplish this with Element3D because .obj files are imported without any dialog.  Current scripting access allows us to change the source of those Element3D .obj layers because there is no import dialog that users encounter upon adding an .obj data file to the project.  For the new, native 3D suppo

I'm using this example because it's easiest to reproduce, but this bug exists everywhere the color picker is seen. Steps to reproduce:In AE, composition settings (Cmd-K),click on background color swatch to open "Background Color" picker.Try to select new color by dragging around the small circle inside the main color swatch area Try to type numbers into the fields Result:• causes that selection circle to snap back to where it was.• numbers enter VERY SLOWLY into the fields (may be part of the larger issue with SLOOOOWWWWW typing everywhere in AE) Expected: to be able to select a color! System info    Application: After Effects (Beta) v23.1.0.37    OS: macOS v11.7.0, RAM: 64.00 GB GB, CPUs (logical): 32

I updated the beta just now and when I reopened my previous project all the ProRes 444 footage in the project was now causing AE to freak out, tearing and artifacting on the screen.
