After Effects (Beta)

the viewer flickers when moving objects

When i Import a 3d model into AE Beta it doesn't show up. The controls to move it around do, it's like it's invisible. Does anyone know a fix?

I'm not sure when this stopped working but lately I've been doing a lot of disclaimers and it seems like After Effects' justified text paragraph modes are broken (whether it's Last-Left, Last-Centered, Last-Right, or Justify All.) Words overflow out the right side of the text box, and I have to manually edit and shift-enter line breaks in after the next-to-last word on those lines (and then pull up the rest, which changes the results of subsequent lines, etc.) I was still on AE 2023 but recently upgraded machines and got on 2024, going from Windows 10 to 11, but can say that it definitely was broken in 2023. Then I installed the current beta (24.2.0) to check and it's still broken there too:  As you can see the first line is fine, the next 4 aren't, the following 4 are, etc. Font doesn't matter; size doesn't matter; changing either does give you different results obviously, but still will result in many jagged right-hand lines. After last 2 updates I cannot see anymore selection rectangle while drag-selecting in composition view or layer view. It works as usual in timeline and project panels, but not in view panels.The selection itself works, I am able to select layers or mask vertices, but I cannot see the "selection rectangle". Had to return to regular AE version.Any ideas how to resolve this issue? using now AE Beta version 25.2.0 (100)

I'm getting tired of this. I start a project and about 20 minutes in, the program crashes and I get some unknown error dialogue that won't go away no matter how much I click it. I've lost countless hours of work at this point (Yes I know I should save more often) and i'm fed up with it. Never had this issue before with the regular AE. I've set the allocated RAM to other programs to the lowest I have, cleared my disc cache several times, made sure I have space on my local drive and hard drive, etc. This program is not good. Adobe fix this.

Regardless of the setting of the 'loop options' button in the Preview panel, playback of a RAM preview ALWAYS loops.I'm on AE Beta 25.2.2x85 I was using AE in "dangerous mode" - that is I was working on a project with linked comps with PPro also open. I quit both AE and PPro, relaunched AE (but not PPro), opened the same project, and the issue has gone away. There's an annoying flickering pehnomena on the shadows when rendering 3D objects with fast camera motion. Even if I rasie the render qaulity to 50, set the Shadow Resolution to Full and shadow softenss to 20 it still shows.Version 24.2 Build 27Attach a sample render

I've got the 3d model from adobe stock and I was able to import it into after effects and move it around. However I can't see any of the textures on the model. It was imported into after effects along with the model and I can open each one to see that they correct as an image. How do I get the textures to appear on the model itself?

I don't whats up with this error it keeps poping up and it doesn't want to save or save as, and evntually it just freezes, no playback moving or any other tools works.I have to force quite on my macbook pro, which is worst than crashing cuz I force quit it without even being able to save my progressWhat do I do about this ? This for after effets 2025 (beta) last update for 9 of Dec,2024. and it is updated with the latest version. 

I have a large Premiere Pro project containign hundreds of Graphics Templates created in After Effects (Beta)I am on a new machine with only uses standard After Effects, the Graphics in Premiere are broken, and when I try to relink them I get the following error. Adobe After Effects (Beta) must be installed to import this file.I thought I could fix this by opening the orignial After Effects file that the template was created in After Effects (Beta), I exported it using After Effects giving it the same name, but the same error pops up Another thing I tried was importing the new template then OPT-drag to replace, as the Graphic Parameters are identical, but that didn't work either Is there anything else I can try? I don't enough space to install After Effects (Beta) as well as After Effects

Creating an expression to link one transform effect scale to the other breaks. Steps to recreate:New project, new Comp. Add a solid and apply a Transform effect on the layer. Duplicate layer. Create expression link from the Transform effect (scale) to the other layer's Transform effect (scale). Error occurs.  It looks like it's not taking into account the Uniform Scale checkbox option above it and is trying to maintain split dimensions and not finding that other dimension as it's currently hidden/not applicable.

Hello I just downloaded the latest version of AE, and what a surprise : the EFFECT panel is a total disaster (how can you publish and update, even in Beta, with such a bug ?) When, in your main comp, you open a precomp and add effects on a layer, if you go back to the main comp and use the EFFECT panel on any layer, it goes directly to the last layer of the precomp !Managing to see the proper effect of the proper layer is then really hard, you have to click on all the layers randomly until the EFFECT panel finally displays the effect of your layer.And even that way sometimes it goes into the precomp and displays the effect of the layer in the precomp. AE became totally unusable Worse : if you manage to see the proper effect of your layer, and modify datas, sometines it randomly goes to the layer in the precomp, show its effects, while still displaying the dropdown menus or text aera of the effect you were mofifying in the main precomp. And then : it crashes

When I move my cursor into the preview area to change the size of a text box for example, it goes really large. So large that it's hard to click specific areas.

I've tried everything, but it seems like nothing works when I am using the camera tracking. On AE 2025 random crash with Auto Color + BCC Color Correction.

Seems to be a UI bug with AE 2025, present in both the latest public release and the beta. I have a dual-monitor setup, one monitor is 2560x1440 and the other is 4K / 3840 x 2160. My regular workspace is set up for dual screens, but I often switch to the "small screen" preset to make screen recordings.  When I make this change (and when I change back again) some of the UI text becomes tiny.  This includes the RGB values in the info palette, and the colomb headings in the timeline (ie Source Name / Track Matte / Parent & Link). Screenshots attached.

The smoother window isn't available in After Effects Beta anymore. Does anyone have alternate method on how to access this window or is another method to similar to smoother in the Beta. Thanks in advance!System Info: Mac | After Effects Beta (v 25.1)

The issue came back in the newest beta. 25.1.0 (Build 53)Pop up window shows up and can be only removed by closing AE task in Windows.  

I've experienced that when I hit play to preview, the audio starts, but the image stays frozen and struggles to load. After about 4 or 5 seconds, the image starts to play back little by little. I'm not sure if this is a bug or due to my hardware, but with earlier versions of After Effects, like 2021, which is the one I've used the most, this doesn't happen. If it's not a bug and there's some configuration setting to address it, I'd appreciate any help, as this issue significantly disrupts the workflow. Thanks, best regards!

It’s been years, but the issue of the significant slowdown in UI refresh rate when 3D layers gizmos are shown is still present, but Adobe continues to add 3D features to AE without fixing an issue that makes the 3D workspace practically unusable when working with multiple 3D layers.The issue has been reported and discussed multiple times in many posts,https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-bugs/interface-is-slow-and-laggy/idi-p/13229563https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-beta-bugs/ae-beta-22-3-0-low-performace/idi-p/12740169but as of today, version 25.1.0 beta build 43, it still hasn’t been addressed or fixed, as shown in this video:https://youtu.be/HZGj8-RJkCQCould we please @Jessica McMillan @jenkmeister17177426 get an update on the status of the fix for the issue?Thanks

UI Scripts panels are working now but many of them look off.Beta:2024: 

In the latest AE beta build it seems that media from iPhone 15 in Apple Log gets interpreted incorrectly. It is much more flat than it is supposed to be. This error is not seen in our 24.0.3 release version or in Premiere release/beta.
