Alignment is so essential in After Effects such as Align Left, Right, Center, Bottom, etc but till this now they don’t have shortcuts ! Assigning custom keyboard shortcuts to these functions is crucial for speeding up our workflow like adobe illustartor. Any idea if this will be implemented sooner?

Hello everyone, We're excited to unveil Create Nulls for Positional Properties, a new command for easily creating simple animation rigs for positional properties. This new command is available in After Effects (Beta) 25.2.0.93 and later. After selecting a point property in the Timeline, you can use Create Nulls from Positional Points from either the Layer > Create menu or the Keyframe Assistant menu. Much like Create Nulls from Paths (which we'll talk about more in a minute), this new command allows you to instantly create linked Nulls from any positional point in After Effects. Shape gradient points, Puppet Pins, effect points...the list of compatible properties and creative possibilities is extensive. Linking positional points to Nulls has many benefits, including: Attach any point to any layer through layer references or parenting without writing expressions yourself Parent Puppet Pins to each other for character rigs Bring 2D effect points into 3D
Hi there! Version 25.2x88 of After Effects Beta introduces support for FBX model import. FBX is one of the most popular formats for 3D models, and you can now bring FBX models directly into After Effects – including embedded animation, cameras and lights. This also includes models downloaded from Mixamo: Please give FBX import a try with your models and let us know how it’s working for you. Let us know if you run into any issues, e.g.: The model doesn't look right for some reason (like missing materials) The model looks right but has unexpected transformations The model fails to import Unexpected appearance of embedded animation, cameras or lights Some other issue we haven't anticipated Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate it.
Recently this error has started happening very regularly for me.It normally happens after adding an Ai file to my Ae project.I have tried adjusting my memory cache preferences in different ways, but the error continues to persist.
Getting the following message for loading any of our plugins:Checked the console but don't see any entries related to loading the .plugin file.
It's been so long on feature request that it's no longer a feature, by now it's just a crippling bug. Come on, by now half of our projects are in ACES. AE ACES workflow is surprisingly OK, but it does require us to work in 32bit. Still not having an Add Grain and Gaussian blur working in 32bit is just ridiculous.Seriously, how much time would it take, 1, 2 days for a single developer??Just as a reminder:- add grain doesn't work in 32bit at all- Gaussian Blur has a bug where it generates negatove picel values - whenever an overbright point gets blurred, it gets a full black (actually negative) halo around it.These have been reported for over 3 years now, why are they not done yet???

yes, almost everywhere is math possible. But If I have to make a comp, 40sec long and 25 frames per second, would it be easy to type in 25*40 to get the right comp. Should not hard to implement? 😉
I'm having trouble getting After Effects to output consistent color that matches the Composition window. It doesn't matter if I toggle off Display Managed Color, or add a QT Gamma Compensation LUT during the export process. I've tried all different codecs. All of my exports look low-contrast and have a different gamma than what i'm creating in the program. Is adobe working on this? What can be done??? OSX 13.6.4 (22G513)After Effects Beta 25.3.0
Is there a way to export a 3D object with animation keyframing (done in After Effects) as a GLB or other common file type. I'm an artist most comfortable in Adobe Photoshop and I'm good in After Effects for animation. I'm working with Augmented Reality turning my art into experiences. I want to animate 3D elements that I capture myself (or create from 2D). I haven't found an easy way to do this, nothing like the way I would use Adobe After Effects to animate. I would love to be able to export out the keyframe animations with my GLB and import them directly into my augmented reality space. Is there any interim way I can do this (perhaps with a plugin). I would love one of the Adobe Software systems to support 3D animation with Puppet Rigging too.
The AE Beta support page asks for suggestions for 3d file types to import. LightWave3d's LWO file format would be very useful. LW is back in development and its new owners are now very approachable!
Version 25.1.41 of After Effects Beta introduces support for customizing the Transparency Grid and Background Color for the composition, footage, and layer panels. Our latest update introduces two helpful new features that will improve the way you design and preview your visual compositions. With the ability to adjust transparency grids and customize panel background colors, you will now have more granular control over the appearance of your workspace. This will allow you to customize the design context to better match the destination of your graphics! Adjusting the size and colors of the transparency grid behind your composition elements can enhance visibility by providing better contrast against various elements. This makes it easier to distinguish transparent areas from the rest of your design. Additionally, customizing the grid colors to match your personal preferences or project requirements can make your workspace more comfortable and efficient. You
8 months ago it was announced that AE would respect the dark mode in macOS, but since then no novelty about Windows. I would like to know his there are plans to improve AE's appearance in Windows, currently, title bars and menus look in white without any blur effect. In the last time I have made suggestions to help the development team, such as using WinUI. Thanks!
Today we are excited to announce the availability of Render Queue Notifications in After Effects beta, available in builds 18.4x37 or newer. What are Render Queue Notifications? Render queue notifications allow you to be notified when a Render Queue job completes (or fails) as well as when your entire queue of jobs complete. You can receive notifications in the Creative Cloud Desktop (Window and macOS) and Creative Cloud Mobile applications (iOS and Android). Download the latest build from Creative Cloud Desktop. You can see Render Queue Notifications in action in the attached video. Please use this forum post to discuss and provide feedback. Thanks!
Today, we’re proud to announce a new look for After Effects in Beta! As of Beta Version 24.4 build 20 — available today — After Effects is themed and styled using Adobe’s Spectrum design with a new modern look across the entire app. After Effects Beta now ships with three different themes: Darkest, Dark and Light. There’s also a new toggle for switching between a high-contrast mode for easier visibility and accessibility or a low-contrast mode for focusing on your content. Additionally, we’re also shipping GPU-accelerated UI performance improvements on Windows computers. This improvement may be most noticeable in timeline interaction, comp overlay drawing, and on multiple monitors. This is a beta release with additional fixes and changes rolling out in the coming weeks. Please let us know if you encounter any issues — particularly with specific GPUs — or have suggestions. Feedback from our beta community is appreciated and essential for building better and str
As of the After Effects Beta24.6x35 update, we are including support for macOS Dark Mode, as well as some performance improvements on macOS. This means that not only will all After Effects dialogs will have appearance-appropriate Title Bar coloring, but system windows like File Import will render with the correct appearance for your current system setting. After Effects appearance theme coloring is not tied to System Appearance, so you can have a light AE with a dark macOS, if you so want. We have seen occasional rendering-only issues in custom button UI in the Effects Controls Panel that don't affect functionality. We've reached out to the developers of those plug-ins but as Beta Testers, please let us know if you observe any unwanted UI rendering differences in new beta builds, particularly with third-party plug-ins. If you are a developer, please test your software with this new release, particularly if there is any custom rendering.
I occasionally find myself trying to align things an equal distance from the edge of a comp. I can drag a guide and specify its position, and then subtract that amount from the width of the comp and drag another one to that position, but that's a bit of a faff, especially if I want to then adjust both guides "in a bit more" for example. Many years ago, I remember using an external box (probably a hardware scope) that had a knob-adjustable guideline thing, which would display a couple of guides that were equidistant from the edge of frame. The knob would adjust the distance of both of them from the edge of frame. It was very useful. To replicate this, it'd be nice if AE provided a way of adding these "equal" guides. Maybe alt-dragging a guide onto the comp would add a pair of guides, each the same distance from the edge. They could be a different colour from regular guides, and if I adjusted the position of one, the other one of the corresponding pair would also move. This wou
Hi, We've noticed a critical bug in Essential Graphics. The text is not updating outside of the EG comps when it's changed in the source. It updates the color but not the font size or type or other aspects. This problem wasn't present in v23 but seems to be in 24.x all the way up to this beta. Steps to reproduce: - Create comp with text layer with any formatting. - Promote 'source text' in Essential Graphics of that comp. - Make another comp and put that setup comp in it. - Change the EG text to something else or link it to a new source text of a text layer. - Change the font type and size inside the setup comp. - The updates are not reflected outside in the other comp. This has been a workflow breaking issue for us. Project made in 23 are completely broken and are only fixable by going to every place where the text has been adjusted and re-read from primary comp then apply the adjustment again. This is a no go for projects where such things are referenced over 100
After Effects (Beta): Unable to allocate 132.563 MB of memory. Either decrease the memory requirements for the rendering of this frame, or install more RAM. (12803 / Unidentified caller.). For more information, see www.adobe.com/go/learn_ae_mem I'm testing the "beta" of AE and wanted to report this issue.. (which even happens in the official version 25.1) but here it's more constant because as you can see I'm rendering my video and I get this error, and they are just aligned clips without any effect (well, just one, the "twixtor pro" effect) which doesn't take up much space! but still it tells me that I'm out of memory idk.. I have 24 gb of ram of which I have assigned 16 to after effects (leaving 8gb so that windows 11 runs correctly) also even if I add the maximum it still shows up "even though it's a super light project" I'm also noticing that pressing the "space" key to preview has a delay of about 3-5 seconds " it seems that it lacks optimization in the render, I don't know,
3d camera tracker keeps giving timed out while obtaining dynamic link , but i can use it once if i restart my pc then it starts bugging out

I'm not sure if it's something to do with preview caching, but if I leave it on in the background, my PC (it's a pretty good gaming PC) becomes unbearably slow. My PC froze for 3-5 minutes today and I couldn't even close After Effects.
