As of Premiere Pro v25.2, the option to choose software rendering was removed on Windows, Intel-based Macs, and in Media Encoder across all platforms. In v25.2, customers could still temporarily enable software rendering by holding the Shift key while launching Premiere Pro and selecting “Use Software Rendering Only (one-time only).” In the latest beta versions of Premiere Pro and Media Encoder, this fallback has now been fully removed – software rendering is no longer available. Software rendering can significantly reduce performance and limit rendering to 8-bit, which may cause image quality issues. Our goal is to ensure that Premiere Pro and Media Encoder always render correctly using the GPU. If you encounter a project that renders correctly in software mode but not in v25.2, we’d greatly appreciate your feedback. Please follow the instructions here to report the issue:👉 https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-bugs/how-to-report-a-problem/idi-p/13361863 In the la
We are excited to announce the public beta release of Windows on ARM native support in Media Encoder! We expect Media Encoder to run on all Windows computers that are using Qualcomm Snapdragon X Series ARM architecture-based processors. Some features of Media Encoder on Windows Intel systems will not be available when using Premiere Pro on Windows ARM, either in beta or in the final release. These features are: Loudness Radar effect (Loudness Meter is a replacement for Loudness Radar) Export to Wraptor DCP Import and export of the GoPro CineForm codec Export to the P2 Movie format Some features of Media Encoder on Windows Intel systems are not currently available in the beta of Media Encoder on Windows ARM but will be available in a future release. These features include: Support for 3rd party extensions (including plugins and audio plugins) Support for ProRes Import and export Using ProRes for proxies, render & replace, or as a sequence setting video preview option Import an
In the current, shipping version of Premiere Pro, starting playback, then accelerating that playback results in the CTI (the Current Time Indicator, also known as the playhead), skipping ahead, briefly pausing, then starting again. This skipping is often accompanied by an audio pop. It's particularly noticable when you're scrubbing quickly around the timeline using the JKL keys. Here's what it currently looks like. I hit L to start playback, hit L again at the first timeline marker to accelerate playback, and again at the second marker. I'm very glad to announce that we've fixed this problem in Premiere Pro Beta, v25.6 build 7 and later. Accelerating playback - both forwards and backwards - should now feel smooth and will happen without any audio popping. Here's how it now works in Premiere Pro Beta. We'd love to get your feedback on this change! Regards, Fergus
Following on from our announcement last year, we are removing tape and capture workflows from Premiere Pro, starting with the public Beta version 23.3 (build 14). What is being removed: Edit to Tape panel Capture panel Support for third-party capture plug-ins Capture project settings Preferences > Capture Preferences > Device Control Menu commands related to the above functionality Keyboard shortcuts related to the above functionality What is not being removed: Support for third-party Mercury Transmit plug-ins Exporting to XDCAM drives mounted as a file system We expect most editors won’t notice a change using this new version of Premiere Pro (Beta). If you do encounter any issues, especially with opening older projects that used tape capture in the past, please let us know in a comment below. Thank you!
We’re excited to introduce Multi Transitions, a new feature now available in Premiere Pro (Beta) that makes it dramatically easier to apply and adjust transitions across multiple audio and video clips at once. What is Multi Transitions? Multi Transitions lets you create and edit transitions on multiple audio and video clips simultaneously. Whether you're smoothing or creating new transitions for dialogue, music, sound effects, or enhancing video sequences, this feature helps you work faster and stay in the creative flow. Key Enhancements Previously, adjusting transitions across several clips meant repeating the same action repeatedly. With Multi Transitions, you can now: Create and edit multiple transitions at once: Speed up your workflow by simultaneously applying or modifying transitions across numerous clips, ensuring consistency for both audio and video. Edit using the trim tool or the transition handles across multiple clips in one move: Save time by adjusting fade-in and fad

We can now display and change the label color of sequences right in the sequence panel. Steps to access the feature Update to the latest beta (v25.2 build 81 or later) Go to Timeline Display Settings (wrench in Timeline panel) Enable the following option: Show Sequence Label Color (it is off by default). This option will add a Label color swatch to the left of the Timeline > Sequence panel, similar to After Effects. You can also assign a keyboard shortcut. The Timeline > Sequence panel’s contextual menu (e.g., right-click) also has a Label dropdown menu at the bottom. This will change the label color for just that sequence and update the same sequence in the Project panel (and vice versa). You can also assign specific Timeline panel shortcuts to each Label color separate from Timeline clip Label colors to avoid conflicts. Known bugs Timeline Sequence Label color name changes are not reflected in Keyboard Shortcuts editor. You can chang
Today we’d like to offer you early access to a much-requested feature for Motion Graphics templates and Essential Properties (formely Master Properties) in After Effects: the ability to replace images or videos in your motion graphics. We are looking forward to your feedback! You can create multiple variations of a template with different media, enabling a wide array of new uses for MOGRTs, from news and social graphics to animated slideshows and customizable logo templates. To get you started here a very simple MOGRT which contains a logo and a background to replace: https://www.dropbox.com/s/wib8o2d13pdd9ad/Miami%20Moon%20Intro.mogrt?dl=0 Important: Different than with other beta features, you will need to manually enable Media Replacement through the new Beta menu. The reason behind this is that enabling this feature in Premiere Pro will cause Beta projects to be incompatible with the current shipping release. This is not the case for After Effects. I

We’re pleased to bring to public beta some dramatic improvements and expansions to the color management experience, tailored specifically to the needs of the Premiere Pro editor. With the right source clip metadata, color management automatically adjusts the color and contrast of each clip in your sequence so that every source clip from every camera is converted into a shared color space for further adjustment, and then output to the color space of your choice with automated color space conversions, tone mapping, and gamut compression creating high-quality output with the correct color. In this new version, color management becomes more automated, handles more formats, preserves more image data, and gives you more flexibility to choose just the right workflow for your needs, even turning it off either partially or completely if you would rather work manually using Input LUTs, Creative LUTs, and effects. After installing the public beta, your default Premiere Pro experienc
We’re pleased to announce a host of enhancements in the latest release of Premiere Pro Beta version 25.3.0.48: Automatic Data Range Detection For DNxHR/DNxHD and PNG: When importing DNxHR/DNxHD (via MXF) and PNG files into the project bin, Premiere Pro automatically detects, interprets, and applies the correct data range—whether it’s narrow/legal/video or full/extended—by reading the embedded metadata. Bit Depth Agnostic: Data range handling works seamlessly across all bit depths for the above supported formats. Preserving Super-Whites & Sub-Blacks: Premiere Pro preserves super-whites and sub-blacks in the color pipeline when importing narrow/legal/video range files with out of bounds signal ranges. Color Metadata Handling with CICP support: The color spaces of PNG stills with CICP-tagged color metadata are now automatically used by Premiere Pro color management.. Export Side Enhancements: When exporting to DNxHR/DNxHD MXF or PNG, users can sele
Please note: This feature has been updated, please refer to the ‘Updates’ section at the end of this post. Whether you’re trying to move titles or graphics more precisely, checking a clip for unwanted artifacts, or getting a closer look at a mask that you’re drawing, starting with Adobe Premiere Pro 24.4 Beta you can freely zoom into and out of the Program, Source, and Reference monitors quickly and conveniently using the scroll behaviour of your mouse, trackpad, or pen and tablet. Additionally, scroll bars appear to show you the position of your content within each Monitor. Details of this feature’s use include: When using mouse scroll wheels, magic mouse scrolling, and tablet scrolling, zooming is anchored to the centre of the monitor view. For these devices, holding Opt/Alt + Scroll lets you zoom into the pointer’s position onscreen, so you can zoom directly into any detail you choose. When using trackpad pinch, zooming is anchored to the cursor. In this case, holdi

The Properties panel is now automatically docked in all default workspaces and will be visible when you Reset to Saved Layout. What has changed?
In the latest beta of Premiere Pro and Media Encoder, the option to choose software rendering - “Mercury Playback Engine Software Only” - has been removed. Software rendering can cause poor performance and rendering in 8-bit, which can result in banding. In this beta and future released versions of our products, all rendering will be done using the GPU. This change affects: Premiere Pro - Macintosh Intel Premiere Pro - Windows Media Encoder - all platforms Note that this change has no effect on Premiere Pro on Apple silicon computers, as software rendering has never been an option on this platform. What renderer is being used by Premiere Pro is a project-specific setting. If a project using Mercury Playback Engine Software Only is opened in the latest beta of Premiere Pro, the renderer will automatically switch to a GPU-powered renderer. We would appreciate your feedback on this change. Regards, Fergus
Now in Premiere Pro (beta), AI-powered Media Intelligence automatically identifies visuals such as people, objects, location, camera angles, and more across thousands of clips in seconds. With the new Search panel, use natural language to find these visuals, plus spoken words in transcripts or clips with embedded metadata like shoot date, location, or camera type – all at the same time. The media intelligence analysis is faster than real time and runs locally on your computer, there is no internet connection required. Your media and searches are never used to train Adobe’s AI models. This new search can help you at any stage of your edit, whether you’re diving into organizing hours of new footage, or you need to quickly find that one shot you know you’ve seen before. How to get started: Import your footage into a new project or open an existing project. Open the Search panel by clicking the magnifying glass button in the upper right corn
New API’s that provide a path for Transmit plug-ins to be created that allow multiple audio streams to be output from Premiere’s Mercury Transmit. Additionally, Premiere Pro has added a new SRT Transmit Streaming Plug-in. The new SRT output that can be used simultaneously with existing Transmit hardware/software devices, allowing more than one audio stream from Premiere. API for Push audio model: Currently Premiere has a limitation of a single audio output, and this change allows new Transmit plug-ins to be created that will allow for multiple audio outputs to hardware or software. This does not affect existing Transmit Plug-ins, existing Transmit device and plug-ins will continue to work, but only as the Primary audio device (“Preferences>Playback>Primary Audio Device...”). Any new Transmit plug-ins can be written to use the new API’s, and implement a push model of audio, allowing the new plug-in to act as the Default Audio Dev

Ever since we launched Text-Based Editing, you’ve been asking for translation capabilities. We’re happy to have an answer to this top request: now you can translate captions in 17 languages without leaving Premiere Pro! You can translate captions that are generated inside Premiere Pro or imported via .srt file. Currently, only translation of captions is supported – not transcripts. To use caption translation: Create Captions in the Text panel. Select the Translate captions icon in the Captions tab. Choose the language you want your captions translated into and select Translate. You can select multiple languages! Captions will be translated using a cloud service and third-party translation models, and a new track will be created in the Timeline panel. The progress of the translation is displayed in the Progress panel and on the track item. You can now enable multiple captions simultaneously! Just s
New in Premiere Pro (Beta) 25.3 (build 13 and later) the Timeline has three new commands to help you work more quickly: Toggle Track Output for all Targeted Video Tracks Toggle Mute for all Targeted Audio Tracks Toggle Solo for all Targeted Audio Tracks These commands exist as keyboard shortcuts available to map to any key you like, or in the context menu when you right click on the Mute, Solo, or Track Output buttons in the Timeline. These commands are designed to help editors in cases where they are comparing multiple video or audio clips to decide which works best. Previously, editors would need to manually click on the Mute, Solo, or Track Output buttons to toggle what was going to be played. The commands allow for easily toggling without having to click around or stop playback, and they only apply to the targeted tracks, so editors have full control. We hope you find these new commands useful, and we look forward to your feedback. Thank
You can now select any location for your local Auto Save files for Team Projects. You are no longer restricted to saving your Auto Save files to the default location where the application is installed which allows you to use any directory or external hard drive to manage your Auto Save files. You can set the location of your Auto Saves files under Premiere Pro>Preference>Auto Save>Team Projects. Team Project files are now saved in an append only file (.tpr file) which has the same name as your project. These files are more secure than the previous auto save files for Team Projects and make it easier to locate your auto-save files. In addition to your Auto Saves, your Team Projects and their Auto-Save History is always available on the Cloud.
