Audition

I'm using Adobe Audition on a 32" UHD display on Windows 11.  I have Windows scaling set to 150%, otherwise, everything is much too small.  AA scales just fine, except for one annoying characteristic.  When I move the playhead around with the arrow keys, it jumps back and forth between wide and narrow with each press of a left/right arrow - wide, narrow, wide, narrow... I can solve the problem by setting the AA Windows shortcut properties to ignore system scaling, and this works, but then some UI elements in AA are smaller than they should be. It's not a dealbreaker, but does anyone know of a better solution?

My spectral editor used to default to 200-20k hertz with staggered zoom so I could see more detail in the lowest frequencies. I don't hear lower frequencies well, but my high frequency hearing is very good. I really need to be able to see the whole range but more detail in the low end. How do I set it back to that? Things I'ved triedZooming out all the way takes it to about 0-21kZooming in 1 tick on my mouse wheel takes it to about 600-16kZooming in and clicking "Zoom Reset" takes me back to 0-21kReseting my workspace to the saved layout has no effect on the zoom levelZooming in and setting 200 at the bottom, then hovering over the top and zooming out will only get me to 200-6k before it drops to only showing 0, 500, 1k on the low end, then topping at 11k the 3 digit indicators drop off entirelyIn all cases, the lower frequencies are compressed into a much smaller space than they were yesterday

Hi Everyone, I usually edit my podcasts in Audition and have the auto-save and backup settings turned on (in addition to my own manual saving habits between sections), but my PC crashed after I finished my project, and when I try to reopen the .sesx file through any means, I get an error: Error: Media Foundation reported an error when opening the file.The byte stream type of the given URL is unsupported.  All of my saving and backups are done locally so I haven't been able to determine why it lists an unsupported URL, and my audition is the current update (22.5). Also, when I reviewed my backup folder to see if I can pull up a previous version, it looks like it hasn't made a backup in 5 days even though I have the settings for every 15 minutes.  I did some digging but I couldn't locate anything identical to this and I'm pretty sure I might just be out of luck on this one. Has anyone run into this one in the past?

Hi all! Having a strange audio issue with Audition CC. It started a couple days ago. When I try to record voiceover, I get distortion like this: https://youtu.be/D-taVDR-FB0  It'll go away if I restart the program or I change the audio hardware/buffer size, but then it'll start right back up again. I've tried upping the buffer size to 1024, I've updated all my drivers, reinstalled the drivers for the pre-amp, but nothing seems to fix it. It gets really frustrating when I record 15/20 minutes of material and then find out it's all unusable.  If it matters, I'm using a Lexicon Omega pre-amp and a Rode NT1-A mic.  Any thoughts on how to fix this or what might be going on?

I just spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to insert a 0.5 second clip of background noise into a multitrack session. I started by opening up a 0.5 second gap in all the tracks. Next, I positioned the playback head (don't remember what it's traditionally called) at the start of the gap. Finally, I tried to insert the file which had the background noise...in multiple ways, every one of which failed. In that nothing appeared to be inserted anywhere. What I finally ended up doing was creating a dummy track, dragging the WAV file onto the track, highlighting a 0.5 second section of it, cut it, switched to the track where I wanted to insert it and clicked paste. Which seems more than slightly ridiculous. Surely there's a better/easier way? Oddly, a web search turned up nothing useful. Adobe Audition triggers the center button on my MX Master Mouse which toggles the scroll wheel to clicky mode.Mac M1 macOS Monterey 12.4Adobe Audition Build 22.5.0.51Logitech MX Master 2S Its bugged me for the longest time that it would seemingly randomly switch to the clickety ratchety scroll wheel thingy on my MX Master Mouse, but I upgraded and the same thing is happening with the new mouse. I started keeping track of when it would do it. Its anytime I open Audition or click within a Audition window. I can click outside to another program, and it switches back to normal. Go back to Audition, and ratcheted scroll wheel immediately. Super frustrating. I've given up and just use a trackpad and my tourbox, which is unfortunate cause i have some cool shortcuts assigned on the MX mouse Is there a way to fix this?

System:Mac OS Monterey Adobe Version:22.5 I recently notificed a lot of my disk space missing. Upon further investigation I discovered that the Audition Log-last.txt is taking up 13.5GB of space and growing. I am working on a project in adobe audition and want to split my workstation horizontally with the video on top taking up around 30% of my screen and the multi track section taking up 70% of my screen below. Once I have set this up and press play on my project the video automatically adjusts in size (usually expands) rather than staying locked at the size I set it up at. Is there a way of locking this so I don't have to keep adjusting it after or during playback? The expanding video consequently causes the multi track to be significantly reduced in size which I don't want. Thanks

Hi! I have a cuestion. I can automate a lot of parameters in each fx, but I can´t automate the on/off parameter. As simple as that, I just want to automate any fx in muy multitrack session. I want the fx on in a certain moment and the fx off in another moment. ¿Is it possible? Thanks!!!

Hi  Ive recently upgraded my macbook to a M1 Chip Macbook pro. So today just migrated everything over & my CS6 version of Audition doesnt work. I know its a older version but only use it to edit & master my DJ Mixes, I wouldnt mind paying a off fee for upgraded version but customer service have said the only way i can use Abode Audition is to pay a montly subscription which I dont want to do. Can anyone help ? Thanks 

Bought Adobe Audition 3.0 many years ago, works great. Desktop ate everything. Tried loading new desktop w/3.0 disc but when it seeks authorization it shuts off. Are they making you go through the 'Creative Cloud' app so they can charge a subscription? Even if you purchased it long ago? Is there a 'grandfathered-in' clause? I won't live long enough to learn Audition 22.  

When I export an audio from Adobe Audition the sound of the person talking keeps flickering like cutting. I don't know how to explain it more clearly. It is not all over the recorded clip only for some parts. Is the problem from Audition, Mics, or wires? If anyone knows a solution please contact me ASAP.

I was recording a session on Adobe Audiotion my laptop ket lagging.  The recording bar moving slowly then it freezes and stops the recording. I am using Rodecaster pro for recording on Windows system connecting it with ASIO app. There is space on the laptop so I can't figure out where is the problem. If anyone knows a solution please share with me ASAP. Thank you  

This is an embarrassing question, but I just want to confirm something before I buy a Behringer X Touch Mini (https://www.behringer.com/product.html?modelCode=P0B3M ). I've used a Red Rover for years as an external control surface, but AA no longer allows for remapping of the buttons. At a minimum I need a button to serve as Undo (to discard the last take, basically), and I'd like the ability to skip forward and backward by marker, to drop in new markers, etc. But now I can't use the Red Rover for this. Would the X Touch Mini enable me to map these various AA commands to its various buttons? It supports Mackie Control and other protocols. I believe this is exactly how it's designed to work, and the Control Surface config dialogs suggest that's so, but I just want to be sure I've got it right, because I have not used AA with a "modern" control surface. Am I barking up the right tree here?

It's been a while I'm facing this issue. I've got Rode NT microphone with Rode AI-1 sound card. When I choose MME from audio hardware, I can not record anything and it freezes until I press Space again.I installed ASIO4All and it seems alright but in the middle of recording after 4 minutes the sound goes off like the software can not recognize the microphone! I have to re open audition several times for the sound to get back. How do I record with MME? Is it a sound card problem?I don't want to use ASIO. How can I record using MME again? 

Hello. When I want save my mp3 file, AU 22.5 automatically save it as mp3 VBR format. But I need mp3 CBR. If I want save to CBR I need use "save as" and change format myself, every time, for every tracks. It's spent so much time. Why it's happening in Audition 22? How can I fix it? Audition don't remember my choice. Before I use Audition 13 and everything was good, it remember my settings and every time save mp3 CBR 320kbps.

Hello I'm trying to open a old file, however, when i look inside of the folder that has the project, both the "backup" and "conformed files" folders and empty. I'm looking in:C:(User)>AppData>Local>Temp>Adobe>Audtition>22.0 Is it supposed to be like this or are the files stored somewhere else? Thank you in advance.

Hello, my knowledge is very limited in Adobe Audition, I would really need your help! I have a hundred sound files to modify and re-export. Is it possible to export all the files as individual tracks, but keep the name of the original track?

I'm just using adobe for basic editing of a wav file, same as i've done for the past few years and have never encountered this issue. I have no special plug-ins or anything, just a few small presets / hotkeys saved. Even when nothing else is running, after about 10 minutes of editing the playhead and scolling in and out is very jerky. I've tried uninstalling, updating both adobe and my Mac, but to no avail.  It's strange because it's fine when I open a file, but about 5-10 minutes in the jerk-ness starts. Any ideas? I've restarted, done a RAM reset, I don't want to reinstall my whole comptuer, but maybe that's the issue? THANKS

I am trying to record a podcast in Audition. I have three Rode PodMics connected to an Allen and Heath Zedi-10 mixer. The mixer is connected to a 2018 Macbook Pro via USB.The mixer is boosting the signal +60db and the levels sound and look great when monitored via the Zedi-10, but the waveforms in Audition come in around -24db.  You can barely hear anything.  We are recording the audio by speaking directly into the mic from about 3 inches away completely unobstructed.

Is there a way to toggle between mono and stereo during editing playback only? I record interviews and have the interviewer and interviewee on discreet left and right tracks which makes cleaning up and editing more efficient. However, I would like to be able to listen back in mono because it becomes fatiquing when editing with headphones to listen to (primarily the interviewee) in just one ear. I haven't figured out a way to do this and would appreciate any insights. Thanks.

Hi, I'm finding with the new update that when I save a file (in any format) it adds a hiss at around -42 to -43dB across the whole file. Any ideas why? I uninstalled and re-installed back to the previous version (22.1.1) and the problem was no longer there.  I'm already having to do this on After Effects and Media Encoder, because new updates break the programs, is this the new Adobe strategy?
