Audition

On my computer CC 2015.0 (8.0.0.192) works perfectly in every way that I need. But from CC 2015.1 onwards (including CC 2017) Audition crashes when attempting to import any video file. Also, VST/VST3 plugins that require OpenGL also immediately crashes Audition later than version 8.0.0.192, giving the message that my GPU does not support OpenGL 2.0 (which in fact it does). As said, in version 8.0.0.192 these problems do not exist and everything works perfectly.I assume this is OpenGL driver related, so what has changed? Why does Audition suddenly no longer think that my computer supports OpenGL?

hii'm running audition cc 2017 last built on windows 10 pro 64bitis there a way to add more effects in the batch processing?i see i can use only 1 favorite for each timei would like to normalize , equalize and fade in and outi have a bunch of files and i would love to do it with 1 batch processing and not 4 , one for fade in , the second for equalize , fade out and finaly normalizecan i do all of them with only 1 batch processing?thanks

I have a multitrack session with six tracks and a stereo master track. Each track (including the master) has an Audio Unit plugin effect, and the six audio tracks have the "pre-render" box checked. The session is just over 30 minutes long.When I select "Export > Entire Session..." and try to export as 44.1kHz, 16-bit Stereo (the original session is 48kHz, 32-bit Stereo), the render time estimates that it will be approximately one hour! If I instead choose to "Mixdown to New File", the render time is approximately one-third of this.Is exporting an entire session broken? I'm currently using Audition 2017.0.2 but have experienced this problem going all the way back to the 2015 versions. Even the shorter, 20-minute mixdown seems excessively long for the amount of processing being done.

Dear All,I convert an old 90min audio cassette tape into a .wav file.Now I am trying to burn this .wav file into an 90min (800MB) disc.The .wav file is about 89mins total with CD track markersWhen trying to burn the CD I receive a message telling me that I’m not allowed to burn a disc longer than 78 minutes.I already have 90min discs (800MB) and also my CD-R drive supports over burning.Is there any way or option to bypass this message and over burn the CD?I am using the Adobe Audition CC 2017Thanks in advanced! 

Hey, I'm new to Audition. So far I have been using a stereo source and track in audition. Then I export stereo and the .wav is only playing out of the right channel. Probably an easy fix, just new and don't know what to do.In headphones it plays stereo. When I play it back for editing, the speakers are playing it from both channels. After export it doesn't play stereo. Any help would be appreciated!

I just got a new Microsoft Surface Book. I had been doing my work on my ASUS laptop. Both are running Windows 10. ASUS running Audition 2015 version. Surface Book running Audition 2017. I can access my old sessions. I can play older wav and mp3 files on Surface Book. But when I record, I get garbled audio. I used MME in ASUS and everything was fine. Tried MME and ASIO4All in Surface Book and got garbled audio in both. Any ideas what might be going on? The only difference I can see is in Audition, 2015 vs 2017. HELP!!!

Hi, I wanna add some effects in adobe audition and it works for the selected area, but how can I make this effect "growing up" in the start, slowly ending at the end of the selected area. I wanna make  it more "smooth" when effect is coming up, and when its going downTo precise it more, I dont wanna have that aggresive transition between selected section (where i put effect) and rest of the song:

Where is the option to disable the "release ASIO driver in background" functionality? This is a new install, and I haven't used Audition in a couple years. The whole audio engine dropping out and having to reinitialize every time I switch focus to another program is obviously making Audition unusable. Was there a recent change? am I doing something wrong? or is there another reason I'm not seeing this option in the settings window on my computer? (Audition build 10.0.1.8)Thanks for the help.

I want to open an mp4 that I purchased on itunes in audition. I get odd prompts from audition that I don't understand. It opens a messy loud hiss. How do I get audition to understand mp4s?

Hello, I'm using Dynamics Processing, and I noticed under the Dynamics tab, there's a Make-Up Gain slider, and under the Settings tab, there's another Gain Processor slider with more options.Are they two difference mechanisms? Thanks!

I've been using Adobe Audition 1.5 for many years. It has always had the following nagging problem. When I start it, Windows pops up a window asking if I want to allow this program from an unknown publisher to make changes to my computer. I have to click Yes each time.I have updated to the latest version of Audition, but the user interface is so different that I'd prefer to use 1.5. But I'm still stuck with the Windows popup. How do I stop the popup from coming up?

I'm new to Audition but I am liking it a lot so far.I'm trying to get my multitrack file exported to MP3 with all my effects. I have some effects in my effects rack for the master channel.Trying to export to both WAV and MP3 resulted in unexpected waveform.Using "File > Export > Multitrack Mixdown" to both WAV and MP3 had same behavior. After export, the file would open and would look as expected. Yet, if I closed the exported file and opened it again from scratch, the waveform looked off.I was finally able to export a WAV by first "Mixdown Session to New File." The waveform for the WAV looked like what I expected. If I closed the file and opened it again from scratch it still looked correct.If I "File > Export > File" from this WAV that has the correct waveform and exported to MP3, it looks wrong again.The "File > Export > Multitrack Mixdown" process appears broken. It looks like it takes the rack effects into account when opening the downmixed file. Yet, this appear

1.  I cannot get my microphone to work now CC 17, up until last week everything was fine....what can I have done? I have checked everything and all looks as it should.  I have been using Audition for years and everything is set up correctly - as far as I can see, yet I have no sound going through the sound card.  I can hear myself in the headphones but nothing on the metre input signal.2. When a multitrack has been made CC17 will not let me export it into a single .Mp3 - why is this.I wish I had my previous CC6 back - I have had nothing but problems with CC17

Hello. Is there a way to reduce the volume of someone speaking in Audition? I used a lav mic on someone recently & he spoke extremely loud so everyone could hear him. Had I known better, I would set the volume lower on the microphone to prevent this from happening. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

We're trying to save an audition file as a different file type, as in not an adobe audition file. It won't give us any other options when we go to File, save as. Help?

I have sound with a wide dynamic range across 3 tracks in the CD track sense. It's sort of music. But, it's generally too low. I need to get the average and increase levels appropriately so match loudness sounds like what I want.I'm probably far from understanding what the different standards mean. But, I'm hoping to proceed before fully understanding all the details.If I try to match a standard and loudness radar shows the result is mostly too low (in, umm, loudness) is there a relatively simple explanation of what needs to be done to make the result match the standard?

Hey guys, so the other day I decided to try and capture a recording of my car exhaust. I used a Go Pro with an external lavalier mic positioned on my back bumper.For the most part it seemed that the audio was decent with the exception of some slight wind noise (fluttering, hissing?) and distortion under hard acceleration.I'm not sure if it's possible to "clean" this up in Audition to make it sound a little more crisp. I'm a new user to the Audition suite and I have little to no background in audio editing. I found some tutorials online on clearing up distortion and hissing etc. I've viewed the spectral pattern and tried to eliminate certain frequencies but the audio always ends up sounding unnatural, hollow, and almost like you're listening to it underwater.What would you guys, the experts, recommend doing?Here is a sample clip:https://ufile.io/44dbb If someone can take a quick shot at cleaning it up and letting me know what was done I would be very grateful!Thank you!

Hey all!So, I just got the new H6 Handy Recorder, and the first time I use it, something goes wrong. I'm not sure if the file didn't wrap at the end, or what, but I couldn't get the audio file to play off the card until I put it through VLC and saved a new version. However, this recovered audio sounds terrible, and nothing like the two other tracks I recorded that day. I'm not even really sure how to describe the sound; it's just bad. I would upload the file, but I can't figure out if that's an option here. If anyone has any advice on how I can remedy this situation in Adobe Audition, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi,First time using Audition to master audio on a film I've been editing.I have a lot of multi channel Wav's. Question is how do I edit channels individually?i.e. one section has 4 people miked, ideally I want to be able to mono each channel and cut out parts of a certain channel that are dead etc.I've seen a work around where you can split out the wav in a bin but this won't work for me as I would then have to pain stakingly edit those channels back in to the timeline.Is there a fast a clean way to do this?Thanks,Dom

Greetings. My audition 1.5 on windows 10 was not recognizing the CD rom to write a session. It was suggested I remove then reinstall the program. When trying to reinstall, the process is halted citing the data1.cab file is corrupt. The original CD was for cooleditpro and was badly scratched when I upgraded to Audition 1.5. So, I have the Audition 1.5 and my serial number and that's it. I live in a rural area with very marginal satellite internet service, so I rather stick with what I have instead of the cloud.How do I fix this??Thank you.Tony

I recently (about two months ago) purchased a new Scarlett 2i2 (gen 2) device.I have the latest driver installed: Focusrite USB ASIO driver (v4.15).The laptop I'm using is also only about 3 months old and I invested in fairly powerful hardware, so I would not experience any issues when working with audio and video programs. For audio, I am currently using Adobe Audition.I am able to get to what seems to be very close to zero latency, but only with setting the buffer size in Audition preferences to 256 samples.For some reason, given the hardware I have in my computer, I was sure I would get zero latency using the Scarlett 2i2 with buffer to 512 samples, but when set to 512 there is small but noticeable latency.My computer is a new Sagar laptopWindows 10 Home 64-Biti7-6700HQ32GB RAM500GB Samsung 850 EVO M.2 SSDthe Scarlett 2i2 is connected via USB 3.1 (gen 1)I sent an email to Focusrite and this is their response:Quote:It is not possible to get zero latency through the DAW, as this i

I have used the noise reduction process numerous times, however I am by no means an expert on the matter. The defaults almost always work very well for me, however today the process has stopped working and removes almost all sound from the audio. This happens on all the different files I have tried as well. It occurred abruptly without me changing any setting that I was aware of.This happens when I use the link from premiere pro to render and replace with a clip edited in audition. I have reinstalled audition in case there was settings I had changed mistakenly as well but this did not solve the problem. Is there anything obvious that I am doing wrong? Hi Everyone!I am working on a personal video of my wedding. I was able to get all the raw footage of the ceremony so I can make my wife a video of the ceremony for our anniversary. Unfortunately, when my ceremony was recorded, there was no serious sound equipment that was used. I have sound from one of the video cameras that was able to record pretty much the whole ceremony. The bad part is that it was recorded from the back of the church (top). When I double (even triple) the dB I get some decent sound, but a lot of echoes and high pitched humming (how it used to sound recording to a cassette). I was wondering if anyone has any pointers to get rid of the background noise and echo so I can give my wife this gift. 😃 Thanks in advanced!

Hello,I am hoping to find clarification regarding what happens to a 24bit file each time it is saved and re-saved after editing using a 32bit (float) DAW. I am not mixing in a multitrack environment, but editing the actual waveform. The sources I work with are primarily LP (or 78) records, cassettes, and reel-to-reel.My typical workflow for an LP record for example:1. Record source at 24bit/88.2kHz/-15dB-12dB dBFS as one file per side of source; save copies as-is across multiple external hard drives.2. Apply amplitude (clip gain) globally to both files, ensuring level consistency between both sides, and with that of the original source.Save each as "...24-88_EDITS_01".3. Open each "EDITS_01" and manually remove obvious clicks and pops, then apply light DeClicker - Save.Note: I try to avoid adding EQ to a record, as I am not trying to remaster it, only clean it up.4. Apply track markers - Save. Export track markers as 24/88.2 files - Save.5. Export track markers as 16/44.1 with triangul
