Gracias
I'm facing an audio restoration issue that goes beyond my skills. I have a recording of a book discussion that was intermittently disrupted by a boisterous kid in the back of the bookstore. I am trying to figure out tools/workflow for minimizing or damping the child's voice, which is quite a lot higher than the two male adults talking in the foreground. I've tried fiddling with it in spectral view with the heal tool, but my results are unusable. This isn't anything I've had to tackle before. Any advice on how to quiet down that kid? I'm sure he was charming, but he doesn't belong in this recording. I'll attach a short WAV that illustrates what I'm up against. I'm in Audition Mac 2024. Many thanks in advance!Edward
Hey everyone. I've been fighting with Adobe Audition for the past two hours, i've gone through youtube tutorials and nothing is working. Maybe you can help. I'm trying to do a Podcast with a friend and I THOUGHT the difficult part would be recording the phone call. That setting up my USB mic would be easy. HA, not so much. Anyway. I've gone into audio hardware and set default input to USB DIGITAL AUDIOthen on track 1, i have Stereo [015] USB DIGITAL AUDIO: FRONT LEFT I've pressed R and nothing. It doesn't accept it. I speak and the levels don't move. Can anyone shed some light on this problem please. Thanks.
Maybe I'm missing something. So...If the CD title and track information doesn't exist in the CDDB Server Audition will only extract the cd audio with "CD Track 1..." etc. Why doesn;t it extract the track namesmastered on the audio cd???? If I rip the CD using Windows Media Player, windows media player is able to read the Audio CD Data that is embedded on the audio CD. So as a work around I constantly have to use Windows Media Player to rip the CD and then import the audio back to Audition. Really don;t need the extra step. It seems you need to make an improvement to the why Audition Extracts audio from the CD since not all titles are available on the CDDB Server. It would be a nice enhancement if you program Auditon to extract not only the audio but the title information on the CD and also have an option to select that insterad of always pointing to the CDDB Server. Thank you.
With all the AI song software going around i think a good use for it might be in filling out a song. Like the generative fill feature on photoshop except for audition. So a song writer could lay down their piano and vocal tracks, or guitar or whatever and then have AI analyze the song and add bass, drums, strings, backup vocals. Etc... based on the users needs.
Here's a blast from the past. My setup: Windows 10, 32GB RAM, Kabylake 4.5GHz, Mackie 400F audio interface (firewire). The 400f works as expected in Windows. ie. I can select outputs 1/2 and play audio from the PC through the interface. And it appears on the 400f Control Room outputs. In the past (like 5 or 6 years ago) I was able to get audio out of the 400f via Audition. Its been a while, so I was setting it all up again. However in Audition, I now can not get any audio out of the 400f. The sample rate of the Multitrack session and the 400f are the same. 48000Hz.I have Audition set to ASIO, and have selected the 400f in there. In the Mix channel in Audition, I have tried Default, Default Output, [01S] Analog Output 1. None of these produce sound from the Control Room outputs, or the headphones out. Its very odd... I'm hoiping someone out there has this interface working, or maybe some things I could try. Thanks,Norman
Hello, I'm pretty new to Audition so hoping this is an easy fix. My spectral frequency peaks are "cut off" at about 10k Hz. How do I adjust my settings so that this doesn't happen? I'm recording in 48000Hz, mono, 16 bit depth, and saving as .wav.
Hi Guys, I recently had to disconnect everything to do a mobile recording project. I ran into some problems that I eventually figured out, but when I set everything back up here in my studio, my "Record" function on the individual channels is now greyed out - unusable. I'm thinking some setting got changed, but I can't for the life of me find anything that seems to relate to the channel functions.
Greetings,Does anyone have a workflow that you would suggest for using Audition to edit a podcast interview?I have 2 or 3 different audio files, separate for each guest, recorded from Zoom, often 30 - 50 minutes to clean up. I work mostly in multitrack but sometimes enter waveform for more detail. Here is the order that I have been doing, so far1. Noise Reduction to clean up ongoing background noise that is consistent2. Diagnostics to Strip Silence to identify breaks3. Listen and manually edit ums/so/you know, odd single noises/word fumbles4. Essential Sound for a little enhancement5. Add intro and exit sound clips with music6. export mixdown I've noticed that I spend a lot of time waiting when I do my manual edits and am wondering if I should do those first. What other effects/edits do you use regularly?
Hi, I use Audition to edit my podcast, and am often using a similar command pattern to get rid of "ums" and other pauses --> time select, ripple delete time selected in all track, select clips to end of session, nudge left 5. To varying degrees, after a number of rounds of this pattern Audition begins to slow down dramatically and then freeze for 5-10 seconds. This happens specifically during the ripple delete or nudging commands. After it slows down, it will evnetually just get stuck on the nudge command as if I'm holding down the hotkey for it or as if I have hit it a bunch of times and a row, and it will just keep nudging uncontrollably for 15-20 seconds until it finally stops. Then I must undo all of those steps, save, and quit. Once I quit and reluanch, it works fine again, and then after a few rounds, starts to slow. The thing is, there are times when this doesn't happen or only happens after a while. This week, it's happening after only 2-3 rounds of commands (meani
I have recorded a 30 second piece for IVR and have gone through all of the steps to save it to a ulaw file, but the client is unable to upload it to their IVA system. Any suggestions on what the issue might be? I've recorded an original wav file, then converted it to a ulaw file as per the pictures below.
So this has happened three times now where I've taken a file from premiere to audition to edit the sound. Ive spent ages working on it saved it in both sections. It says it's saved and the next day I open the project and nothing has been saved. The only evidence that I have actually worked on it is the PKF file which I have discovered through looking on these forums is useless to me. I should note that I am using a trial version so I'm not sure if it's related to that but it is certainly deterring me from buying this product. Can anyone help me out? Thanks
I'm running Adobe Audition; version 24.2.0.83 in Windows 11. ~500 audio clips were dropped into the batch processing window of Audition. All clips were monaural wav files, 22050Hz, 16 bit. The effect chosen was "normalize to -3dB" and batch exported to a new folder (same frequency and bit depth). Many files are OK and properly adjusted to -3dB. But there are several series of clips where audio from one clip is inserted into another. There are also segments of clips that have missing audio and/or are jumbled with other clips. I did a little searching and found no reports of this behaviour elswhere. This has happened a couple of times now. Any thoughts?
I batch converted all my clips from mono to stereo, and now I'm having an issue. I'm new to Adobe Audition, so I'm hoping this is something super simple that I'm just missing! In the multi-track, I can hear the sound coming from both channels. But when I go into the Waveform for each clip, the sound comes from only the left channel. I see waveforms in the right channel, but it appears grayed out. When I click on Edit/Enable Channels, it looks like only the Left channel is selected — but when I click on "All Channels" or "Right Channel" to enable them, nothing happens. Any idea what could be happening here?
This issue was not present in 2019 edition. Sending a sequence to Audition from Premiere worked fine. Now, all clips have "Amplify" applied at 8.98 to them, as well as clip volume raised to 9dB. (The yellow line, not the clip gain.)Do not talk about unchecking the boxes when you send. Been through all that. Tested with a fresh sequence in a fresh project using only one audio clip. Does the same thing.Only difference I've noticed is that some files won't have the Amplify effect applied, but they'll still have clip volume raised 9dB.This obviously somewhat breaks the functionality.
I have several clips (cuts) inside the multitrack and I would like to navigate to the beginning (end) of each clip easily, but I didn't find anything like that.Any idea?
Hi Again, Ok, I asked earlier about why my level meters suddently quit working. I now cannot find that. Anyway, I've looked at several YouTube tutorials, and not a single one of them show what I see in my program. I have a newer version, downloaded in maybe late 2023, or possibly even sometime in early 2024. I'm guessing what those tutorials are showing is in the older versions. I do not understand the setup, being that I never change settings - I have no reason to. I did manage to find the Channel Mapping screen, and everything seems to be in order - both the input settings, and the output settings. It's strange that my settings seem to magically change for no apparent reason. The other day, my Record buttons got disabled somehow, and I came here to ask about that, didn't get any answer that I could make heads or tails of. For some reason, the setting changed itself back, because now the Record buttons are operable.&nbs
When opening effects in multitrack, is there a way to open them up in the sidebar rather than individual popups? I'd prefer it if I could open them more like how they open in After Effects, rather than a load of separate windows
I have been using Audition for the past 4 years for Voice Over work. I was working on a MacBook Pro. I recently got a new computer and iMac. My recordings on Audition now have a crackling sound in the background. Also, there seems to be a lot of bass in the recordings. I never had these problems with the laptop. I had hoped getting the desktop would give me better service. How can I resolve these problems?

I'm attaching an image of the "window" in which I usually view the editing area (don't know what it's called) where the waveform usually appears. It's turned into this thin bar. see attached image. All the other windows open with no problem, but I can't edit! Fortunately, I still have Audition 2023 and it opens just fine, but I can't figure out what's going on. I've tried all kinds of workspace settings, but none will open the editing window. This is the 2024 version of Audition on a mac studio running OS 14.4.1
I've read about the Auti-heal feature, but is there a way to do this in a none-destructive mannar? Like on the multitrack?
Hello,I'm mixing some audio for a video, and the music track does not start with its first beat at the start of my session, so if I turn the metronome on, although the timing (104bpm) is correct for my music track, it is out by half a beat or so. Is there a way to offset the start of the metronome, to sync it up with my music track? In other words, I'd like the metronome to start after a delay set by me....eg. half a second. Is this possible? Thanks,Paul
When exporting multitrack sessions in Adobe Audition, I propose having the default output folder being the source folder rather than Audition constantly choosing the last exported-to folder. Every time I have to change the location of where I want to export to. It would make more sense if instead of choosing the last folder I exported to it would choose the folder where the source files are found!
I have marked up a lot of audio ranges from a mp4 clip that I want to export as individual .wav files. But when I click any single range marker (or a selection of them) the option Export Audio of Selected Range Markers is greyed out. I am running this as a Multitrack session, was that wrong of me?
