I always want to fix the docking of the Console window to check the logs, but it gets undocked every time I restart the application. I'd like to know if there is a way to fix this problem, and I hope this will be fixed in updates if it's possible.

Can we please get an update for Substance Automation Toolkit to work with the latest version of Substance Designer?  The current relase of the Substance Automation Toolkit is only compatible with Substance Designer 12.4.0, but the latest release of Substance Designer is 13.0.1 as of this request.  The last update to Substance Automation Toolkit was on 03-01-2023 according to the change log, so that's over 4 months behind.  

I am new to Substance Designer and I am having some issues with it on my M1 Mac. When I create a new graph and start adding shapes, everything works fine at first. However, as I add more nodes, the Blend-2D view stops updating. If I single-click a node, it does not show the composite of the previous nodes. I have to double-click a node to make any node to show at all. I am not sure if this is a known issue or if I am doing something wrong. Is anyone else having this problem? Is the Mac version of Substance Designer super buggy?  My Mac is an M1 Ultra with macOS Ventura 13.5.2.

I really wonder why this simple baking process take sometimes the hell of time.Initially I thought it was something wrong with my computer but this year I got some on my students reporting the same issue.Am I the only one that noticed this issue here?I'm using an up to date software and Nvidia driver on windows 10.

The boolean buttons are often getting converted to this thing (see attached image).They still work as 0 and 1 but its quite annoying for my team.Initially I thought it has to do with the size of properties panel in painter but that is not the case. Also.. I can't share the .sbsar or .sbs file (NDA) plus this situation is kinda random (but often) so creating a dummy project having this issue is not feasible at this moment. Designer: 12.3.0Painter: 8.1.1

 

When I use the 3d texture sdf node and 3d texture volume render node to generate a 3d volumetric effect; the 3d texture sdf node is always black. And 3D  volume render node turns to red. After the node turns red, every newly added node becomes red too.

Hey there, So as is the nature is seems with adobe and legacy software every effort has been made to obfuscate and demoralise those who previously purchased software outright and need access to the exe.  I'm a Substance 3D lndie license holder, however I'm installing onto a new PC and need the exe's. The substance 3D legacy website is down and I am unable to access the software. Can I please get some help with this, and for the sanity of all others could adobe please but some effort into having clear webpages/locations for legacy software like this to be downloaded? Because this is madness. 

The stripe node is working properly in other graphs but top 2/3 part is missing in my specific graph.v12.3.0 build 6140

I'm trying to use a spotlight but it doesn't give any effect even when changing the intensity to 10000 nothing changed, while the effect shows when shifting from openGL to IRay. Version 13.0.1Windows 11

Hello,I'm having a problem with the "Shape Splatter Blend" node, it only displays the first pattern I connect and I don't understand why because there's no blend mode, there are very few parameters either.Thank you in advance for your helpBestHervé

I have a large .SBS library for a project that i'm working on, and after auto-updating to 13.1 all of the graphs CTD upon opening after the updater gets done converting them. Log shows no errors, just immediately cuts off. Rolling back to 12.4 allowed me to open them again. Something with the new update seems to be incompatible with my library, would really appreciate some help.

Hi, I´ve been trying the new spline and paths nodes, they are incredible and can buiild awesome things with them.The problme taht i found is that i was trying to build a smart material with them, but when i publish it as a .sbsar, on painter i have the error [EngineProcedural] Failed to decode Substance. if im using this new spline nodes.Is it somthing taht you guys are aming to fix? Thanks!

Hello !It often happens that when I'm working on a designer, I can't make Redo. The Undo function works fine, but the Crtl Y shortcut has no effect and the top left button is grayed out.This happens frequently, but I can't define the cause.I've encountered this problem using Designer on several different PCs, but always with the same (professional) license. Please send help ! hahaThank you for your time 🙂 

I can reporduce this bug with a simple shape, applying RTAO node and tweaking the falloff distance. Machine will reboot.  I've also noticed this in painter with some older files, once I load them machine will re-boot.  I suspect it's something to do with my GPU (Drivers are up to date) or when Substance calls upon the GPU for certain functions.  All ram tests come up with no issues.  My config,Windows 11 Pro - OS Build 22621.184813th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K 3.00 GHz128 GB (128 GB usable)NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 24GB - Geforce Game Ready Driver - Version 536.23   

On a PC, create a standard gradient linear 1 node and feed it into the input of a tile sampler. Set it up so you can see the tiles without any additional rotation. The patterns you see in the tile sampler should all be the same orientation as the original input. White top, black bottom. So when viewed on a PC the tiles appear the correct way up.But share that material to a Mac and they're flipped vertically or rotated 180 degrees. So either -- the tile sampler is flipping the tiles or the default linear gradient on Mac is vertically flipped. I've not got access to a Mac and the artist I'm working with can't use designer.

My Substance 3D Designer is fully up to date but when I come to use mg_dirt I get a warning that its got an error. That contrast_luminosity cannot be found, yet the address its pointing to ... C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Substance 3D Designer/resources/packages/contrast_luminosity.sbs ... is correct.

Newer versions of 3dsmax only supplies newer shaders (not legacy scanline shader). These newer shaders are not supported by material ID baking in substance designer (bakes a solid color and is useless). I consider it a fairly important/common workflow. As more people update to these newer versions the more they will be disrupted. Obviously this is a problem not caused by allegorithmic but I would be very greatful if you could fix it from you side. Please update the software so I can bake IDs using 3dsmax shaders from 2020 and above. Especially in version 2024 where you cannot even import meshes with scanline shaders into the software. OFC not asking you  to update 3dsmax. Im asking to update how substance deals with newer 3dsmax shaders. Not seeking alternatives like use other software or use vertex colours. I want this specific workflow mended. -Michael

substance collection 3D apps aren't available to me for free being a student in higher education institution. how to proceed !!!!! I submitted the form on https://substance3d.adobe.com/education/  but I didn't receive any mail from them. How to proceed I need redemption code

Already sent a bug report specifically for triplanar nodes, but I noticed several other nodes are also not working so I though why not make a public post here too.Since updating this morning a lot of nodes in my project stopped outputting properly.These nodes not working means that i cannot continue working on these materials, which is a huge issue for my team's production workflow. Here's an example of the outputs im getting all clearly wrong, so far ive noticed srgb/linear conversions, auto levels, triplanar, fxaa, and normal combine not working, but im sure the list goes on. 

When I am opening a substance graphs that I have just worked on. A lot of the default build in node become ghost instance with error messages of "Reference resources not found". I have include images of the error messages. When I compare the broken nodes with the correct node. The Graph instance value both nodes are very similar but have slight numbering difference. For example, the working Tile Sampler node have "pkg:///tile_sampler?dependency=1474624371" but the "ghost instance" Tile Sampler have Graph instance link of "pkg:///tile_sampler?dependency=1474432934" On top of that, some working nodes have their input socket missing. which pretty much make the entire network unusable. Any help is appreciated! Thanks! 

example image attached. When publishing sbsar the internal folder structure is lost - it appears that only the first graph within a folder retains it's original path. This behaviour occurs with  Designer 12.3.0 and Automation toolkit 12.4.0 on more than one machineThis is a significant issue when batch replacing dependencies 

Hi, It seems the parameter conditional visibility evaluation has changed in recent Designer versions (less than a year I'd say, I am using 12.4.0 right now), it is now less robust/lenient. For example, the following expression:   input["HasIdMap" ]==1   does not pass anymore because of the space between the last " and ] characters. This is breaking sbsars which have been tested and released with earlier Designer versions, the conditional visibility of their parameters is now not handled properly in recent versions. I would suggest to revisit the conditional expression handling, an extra space should not break it, think trim() function, thanks!

Hello! I am trying to do some height map modelling with the shape extrude, however, when I look at the result there is a gray vertical line going throught the center of the shape that technically should not be there. I have tried everything I can think of to get rid of it but without success.To repro, just set a shape node of a square as an input, set the shape etrude to use custom input, and set the position to : X = 0.5, Y = 0.0

I made a procedural material/filter on designer, and i noticed that some time in the process painter just straight up refuses to import the .SBSAR file anymore, i already scrapped the whole shader and started over, it was working fine and suddenly it breaks when i import to painter and all i get is an error ([EngineProcedural] Failed to decode substance) and an empty asset that doesn't do anything.This thing is driving me insane, i've been trying everything i could, there's zero information about any of this in the entire web and no matter what i do, i just can't get it to work anymore.Im linking in the .SBS and .SBSAR files, if anyone could help me out here i'd be forever thankful.
