After Effect is crashing after using rotobrush, and I can't use AE at all.I did update my brand new computer MacbookPro M2 Max OS Ventura,It didn't change anything. I even format my computer, de-installed and re-installed the last version of AE. After calling several time to Adobe for a week, this is the worst customer service I ever experience. Nobody was able to tell me what was the problem. I need to talk to a real expert who will solve my problem (and not randomly tell me to install and reinstall my app or update my computer). I'm thinking Adobe have real issues of compatibility with Mac OS Ventura.Is anybody else experience those issues?

With the Save As popup window open, if I press any of the arrow keys, the popup window closes and nothing is saved.  I haven't tested every Adobe app but it happens for me in After Effects (2022 & 2023), Media Encoder, and Premiere Pro.  I also tested it in Photoshop 2023 and it does not appear to be an issue there.  I have reported it to Apple but it seeems like it might be more of an Adobe bug as no other apps I use seem to do this.  It was not an issue with Big Sur or Monterey.  Only appears to be an issue with Ventura betas.  I am currently running the Ventura RC and the recent Adobe 2023 app updates.

Dear adobe engineers, stop breaking AE for million's time on windows, please make it work as smooth as on mac please i beg you....Problem as follows - i have a horrible timeline performance on my top tier windows 11 pro machine compared to my macbook pro M1 max with 32gb ram,  same project with 10-15 shape layers in 3d on 1080p timeline feels drasticly different: silky smooth on MAC and stuttery mess on windows... lowering resolution and enabling draft 3d makes 0 differencespecs13900k+96gb ddr5 + rtx 4090, 2x2tb crucial t5,  latest drivers on  everytging as of  30/7/2023 every other software (davinci, c4d, blender  ) fly performance wise  but not adobe, especially AE AE version 23.5 or beta x11 on both machines windows and mac The problem is only affecting workflow and timeline performance, i dont care as much for rendering performance,  this problems happened before and im really tired of every other update screws up optimization in fa

After Effects, I make a Composition of 3 layers ;- a blue Rectangle shape, which is supposed to serve as background for everything to be added over it,- another Rectangle shape, no fill, placed under the blue rectangle,- a logo (imported .PNG), which I set to start from within the blue rectangle, move downwards and only appear when placed within the second rectangle. I then set the logo to be track matted by the second rectangle, intending the logo to be visible while within the matte's area.So, the logo starts from within the blue rectangle, moves downwards to be placed within the matte. Stays there for 5 seconds then back up. No other effects are used. Elementary animation, nothing complicated. And, indeed, it runs fine when I run it with the 2 layers (matte & logo). But when all 3 layers are on, the logo is never visible. Any suggestions ?

It's been happening for years. Mac Intel, Mac Silcon, it doesn't matter. Analyze will just freeze. AE restart required to get it to work. I would really like to know what conditions contribute to this problem. Mac Mini M2 Pro Ventura 13.4 AE 23.4.0 

When I create a shape layer by double-clicking the toolbar icon, I can access the expected controls in the Properties panel (pic 1)   But when I create one using the menu, I only get access to the main transform controls in the Properties panel, not things like fill or stroke etc (pic 2)   I asked someone to test it on their machine and everything worked as expected, so it's something in my system that's causing the problem. Does anyone else have this issue?Win 11 PC - AMD 5950x - RTX 3080 - 128 GB RAM            

I've had issues in the past with typing and new characters not appearing when you type until you perform another action. There was an active User Voice post for this. I even got contacted by After Effects staff and submitted videos for them. Now, with the latest updates, the issue is worse. The 'Character' panel now lags. Every time I select a new text box, the previous Character properties remain visible. If I make a change, it actually updates the selected text to whatever the Character panel shows. This means that every time I select type, I have to then click a couple more times in the text box to ensire the Character panel actually updates. Macbook Pro 16" Intel, macOS Monterey 12.6After Effects Version 23.0.0 (Build 59)Cache is clean, SSD has 300GB free. Ram is underutilised.GPU is anaemic but hey, it's an Intel Mac. Go figure.

1. Adobe After Effects 23.42. Windows 10AMD Ryzen 9 3900X64GB RAMRTX 3090 3. When trying to use the 3D camera, I will go to track a clip, it begins to initialize and then fails, and produces an error message saying "unable to obtain dynamiclink server connection." This is an entirely new project and composition, with one clip and no dynamic link attached. I believe Adobe uses the dynamiclinkmanager to enable 3D camera tracking, so that may be the source of the issue, but I have found no solution for weeks. What I have tried so far :1. Resetting preferences and clearing cache. 2. Uninstalling and reinstalling after effects.3. Downgrading my after effects version.4. Uninstalling Creative Cloud, running the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool, and reinstalling. I have followed to my knowledge every reccomended troubleshooting step on the forums, short of reinstalling windows entirely. Is this the last thing to try? Thank you in advance.

Hi all, I am having issues with my timeline. The track matte option is not showing on the top layer in my timeline, and i am also missing the whip icon for the track matte also. I have checked to make sure that the coloumn is active, as shown in the screenshots. If anyone can help me that would be amazing, as all other videos i see online have the icons that I am missing. Thank you!

hi,I am using a 32 inch monitor with 4k resolution. Text and icons are barely visible. The scaling that is enabled in windows 11 does not work on applications.

I'm running AEX's latest version: 25.3.0 (Build 52), and AMD 5900X and RTX 3080 on Windows 11. The comp is 60 fps & 4096×2160. The animation starts at -80° and ends at -35°, and lasts 2.5s, though the bug appears regardless of duration and composition frame-rate. This is a very odd bug as the animation should be smooth (as it is when you just play with the slider in the effects panel), though it appears very stutter-y. This is not a performance issue, as my timeline is fully cached and plays at 60 fps real-time. After Effects just seems to be unable to animate the direction of the drop shadow in increments less than 6°. Rendering does not help either, as you can see in the attached footage. You can easily recreate this by applying a drop shadow on a layer and try keyframing the direction of said shadow.

Hello, I am expericening a render with jittering chracter spacing when text layers are set to Optical Kerning and with the Multi-Frame render option checked. It does not happen consitently, but seems to happen when I am doing a large batch of renders. This is happening in both After Effects CC2022 & CC2023. Upon exporting a gif I have ran into an issue. Exported gif is split in half at a random spot and rearranged. Here's the working space view:  Here's the gif. The animation still works which is funny but it's split in half.  I have done this before and the gif saved correctly. I don't understand what's going on.  This is the settings I'm using. This is the same animation I've done just before: 

AFX 23.6 dynamic link not working anymore between Premiere - AF 23.5 works fine

Everytime I restart my machine or Quit After Effects the Memory & Performance settings are not saving. It allocates something different every time and I have to change it manually. Anyone else have this issue? Also, on my Max M1 Studio AE runs very very slow. Running 23.2.1 with 64 RAM available on Ventura 13.2.1. It used to scream but it has slowed immensly with this latest release of AE.

I am exporting an After Effects video - but my exported video will not open on my Mac OS Monterey Version 12.6.6. I have tried exporting on both Render Queue and Media Encoder - which have no issues during the export but the files will not open correctly. When using Quicktime it will say it the format is incompatible for .mov, and for .mp4, .mpeg it will open only black video with no duration (same on VLC).  I have tried exporting with different codecs, eg Apple Pro Res, with similar effect.  My video is simple - only 5 seconds, two layers and 2 effects. And I am using After Effects 23.4.0 and Media Encoder 23.4. The files are saved to my drive and do not contain any non-latin characters. Does anyone have any suggestions?Thank you.     

I've been placing a number of mocap characters into scenes (output as Alembic animations from Blender) using AE 23.0 and C4D Lite R25. But since the update to AE 23.1 with C4D Lite R26, Alembic objects within the C4D file do not render. All other objects render out fine.

as attach video.If I expand the shape layer on the timeline, you can see the Add arrow.However, if you double-click on the properties panel to expand the layer, there will be no Add arrow.The Add arrow will not appear until the layer is re-expanded on the timeline.

Having an issue where I am working on a project and upon hitting 'Render' in the Render Queue, my entire After Effects almost freezes in place and no buttons work forcing me to restart the app. I have sent a crash report, and everytime I re-open After Effects, a "Crash Repair Options" menu shows up before I can continue on which basically means everytime I attempt to render the scene, my After Effects freezes and crashes. Ive tried all the options on the Crash Repair Options menu and it has not worked. Also tried purging cache, clearing all disk cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, and even downloading an older version After Effects which have all not worked. Ive also tried to render the video with different output settings, which all have not worked. Its gotten to the point where, the project file almost seems frozen the moment I reopen it, as I cannot even Preview or playback my video in the timeline at times. When "Use 1/2/3 for navigation and 4/5/6 for transform gizmos" is enabled in Preferences / 3D, the marker navigation shortcuts do not work as described in keyboard shortcuts, and I believe the keyboard shortcut dialogue is incorrect. The hover overlay - suggest that when the composition panel is active - you should be able to navigate to marker '3' - with the 3 key. However, this should be when the timeline panel is active - you should be able to navigate to marker '3' - retaining the 1/2/3 functionality when the composition window is active for navigating the camera.However, currently neither option is functional.AE 23.4 / Win 10

I think this problem occured since AE 2022, because around 2021 and prior, I have always been able to customize the keyboard shortccuts for Zoom in/out to keys 2 and 1. But since 2022, I haven't been able to do any customizations at all. If I removed all its shortkeys and add back the defaults (such as , and .), it will also not work. So the only way for them to work right now is if they are derived from Default.txt untouched. I tried customizing via the keyboard shortcuts text doc too but did nothing. Any insight/fix would be greatly appreciated.
