So recently whenever I open a project on premiere the timeline lags on playback. Meaning, the blue playhead lags for 3 seconds and nothing in timeline window appears responsive. Then it plays normally just fine. The video plays fine during the lag and every other part of premiere is responsive, just not the timeline window. The temporary solution for this that seems to work is undock timeline window then redock it. Once I do this the issue disappears. This is not a permanent solution. It’s a very dumb bug. I’m on Windows, 4060ti 16gb (most recent studio driver), cpu 7700x, Premiere 26.3.
Hi all, I’m running into a really persistent issue with Premiere Pro: whenever I hit play, it just hangs on “Preparing audio” for a long time and won’t start playback. Here’s what I’ve already tried (with no success):Reinstalled Premiere ProUpdated GPU (NVIDIA Studio driver)Set Audio Hardware > Default Input = None (helped once, but the problem came back next day and now wont work again)Cleared Media Cache (both in Preferences and manually from AppData)Moved Media Cache to a fast SSDDisabled/uninstalled extra audio devices (Dolby APO, NVIDIA/AMD HDMI drivers) so only Realtek(R) Audio is activeReset Preferences and Plugin Cache (Alt + Shift launch)Renamed Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\[version] folder to force a new profile It does it track by track and takes about 20 minutes each, the video is 1 hour 30 with multiple audio tracks, the footage is Proxy. Really not sure if its a Premiere issue, or a Windows Issue. Everything is up to da
Environment macOS Tahoe 26.5.2 | M1 Max MacBook Pro (64 GB RAM) Premiere Pro 26.3.0 (Build 93) No available updates in Creative Cloud at time of testing Workflow / contextI’m using the Source Sequence in Source Monitor / Open Sequence in Timeline / pancake timelines workflow: Load a sequence into the Source Monitor. Use Open Sequence in Timeline to open that source sequence in its own timeline above my working Program sequence. Now I have: Source sequence visible in the Source Monitor and its source timeline. Program sequence visible in the Program Monitor and its program timeline. I’ve recorded a short video demonstrating the behavior here:https://f.io/9T-wih53 Issue 1 – Source timeline playheads ganged even when Gang is OFFSteps to reproduce Load a sequence into the Source Monitor. From the Source Monitor, Open Sequence in Timeline Ensure Gang Source and Program is OFF Scrub the playhead in: Source Monitor → playheads behave independently (as expected).
I took an image showing multiple characters in that image, duplicated the image applied making on the top layer selecting the person of interest. Applied Black & White effect on the lower layer. Next, I took an adjustments layer and applied an effect called Posterize time effect and as soon as I applied it the masking behaves unpredictive. With Posterize time activated.Posterize Time Activated Posterize Time De-activatedTroubleshoot: 1. I tried to put this posterize effect on nested sequence of the two layers.2. Without Nested sequence adding and adjustment layer on the top.Nothing works.
Description: During long editing sessions, when autosave triggers while I am actively holding/dragging the mouse cursor (e.g., adjusting color sliders), the mouse cursor permanently disappears, but only inside the Premiere Pro window.**This issue has been observed repeatedly** Issue Details: I am using a triple-monitor setup. The mouse cursor remains completely visible on the desktop and in other applications. The cursor vanishes only when moved over the Premiere Pro interface. Even though the cursor is invisible inside Premiere Pro, hovering over main menu items still shows highlight/hover effects, and clicking still works—only the cursor graphic itself is hidden.
Premiere Pro 2026 is unusable on my system despite Premiere Pro 2025 running flawlessly. My hardware:RTX 2080 Ti (Studio Driver) Windows 11My workload is extremely lightweight:One static image One audio track Approximately 46 minutes long No effects, no multicam, no color grading, no 4K/8K footagePremiere Pro 2025 edits much larger projects without issue, including timelines with dozens of layers and large exports. In Premiere Pro 2026, basic UI actions consistently caused severe freezes:Enabling/disabling Snap Zooming the timeline General timeline interactionDuring these freezes, Premiere's memory usage increased dramatically (roughly from 800 MB to around 5 GB), Windows reported the application as "Not Responding," and in one instance the entire system became so unresponsive that I couldn't even open Task Manager for several minutes.Reverting to Premiere Pro 2025 immediately resolved the issue.
I’m so often encountering this bug in Premiere after having the project opened for a little while. I create or edit text whether it’s just a line or a text box and user interface box around the text does not appear. I can’t see what text I’m editing, can’t see what I’m highlighting or deleting or anything. When I click on the text to drag it around, I can’t see the box at all. This is a seriously annoying bug, please fix.(I’ve made my clicks highlighted yellow so you can see what I’m clicking)
Premiere Pro reads two different creation timestamps from the same Meta Smart Glasses MOV file.In the Media Import screen, Premiere correctly shows the original recording time. However, after the clip is imported, the Project panel’s Creation Date column shows a later timestamp associated with when the Meta app processed, transferred, or exported the file. For example, one clip shows:Correct capture time in Finder and Media Import: July 23, 2026 at 4:40:17 PM Creation Date in the Project panel: July 23, 2026 at 9:08:20 PMBecause Meta Smart Glasses clips are not always processed in the same order they were recorded, sorting the Project panel by Creation Date places clips in the wrong chronological order. The correct capture timestamp is already present in the file and Premiere’s Media Import screen can read it. The Project panel should either use that same timestamp or expose the original capture-date field as a sortable metadata column.Import Tool:Project Media Browser:
Hello,I would like to report what appears to be an issue with XML exported from Adobe Premiere Pro. Environment Adobe Premiere Pro 26.0.2 DaVinci Resolve 20.3.2 I found a problem related to overlap / Cross Dissolve transitions in XML exported from Premiere. When a timeline containing OL / Cross Dissolve transitions is exported from Premiere as XML and then imported into DaVinci Resolve, the transitions appear visually in the timeline, but during actual playback they are not applied correctly and behave like simple cuts. After comparing the Premiere-exported XML with a Resolve-exported XML of the same edit, I found the following transition parameters in the Premiere XML:<startratio>0</startratio><endratio>0</endratio>If I manually change the XML to:<startratio>0</startratio><endratio>1</endratio> the overlap / dissolve works correctly in Resolve. From what I understand, the original Premiere values may still be technically valid as XML d
I tried all the suggestions from the internet and nothing happens. So I then started a new project in an oldest version and and the same thing is happening. It worked just fine last month but now its notEdit As I said, PP Is not showing the waveform. I traid everything, unstaill the app, delete cache, change colors, etc. Nothing works. It ju st stop working from one day to another
Hello ! Context :I'm using Premiere Pro daily with a timeline opened in my Source Monitor to have a similar configuration than the "Toggle Source/Record" from Avid. I find this workflow to be a lot more precise and pleasing than pancaked timelines, as you can anticipate exactly the start and end frame when puttings clips on the program timeline, and use the two monitors efficiently. This way of working in Premiere works actually works, but there are a few annoying bugs and small things missing that are really painful when using this workflow daily. This bug/feature which is here since a long timeline is one of the reasons this workflow sometimes feels painful (see this and this topic). The bug :Open a timeline in the Program Monitor.Open this same timeline in the Source Monitor. From the Source Monitor, click on the wheel and "Open in Timeline"The previously opened timeline in the Program Monitor will be closed, and nothing will be opened anymore in the Source Monito
After creating a multicam sequence out of several nested sequences (by selecting them in the project window and right clicking and using the Create Multi Camera Source Sequence Dialogue), I now can't undo changes made within the individual nests. The changes I make, i.e. disabling a clip, do not show up in the History panel. See video attached -- changes applied to a clip that isn't in the nested sequence appear in the History panel, but when I make changes to the nested sequence that's used in the multicam sequence, they do not appear, and Ctrl + Z to undo does not work. This issue has been discussed here with someone commenting that they're still experiencing the issue as of one week ago. So it's been an issue that people have faced since at least 2019 but it's my first time encountering it. I've reset my preferences, uninstalled and reinstalled Premiere. I don't know what else to do to get this working properly.Premiere Version: 24.5, I'm on Windows 11
Previously, the Effects workspace placed the Effects panel on the right hand side of the screen. As of a couple of versions now, the Effects workspace is almost(?) exactly the same as the Color panel, with Effects in the same panel group as Project. Please revert the Effects workspace to its original setup.
Captions panel is not working properly. It's not letting me edit captions. Only on the Program screen. Please FIX THIS. My videos ALWAYS require me to edit my captions. THIS IS SO INCONVENIENT AND IT'S SLOWING MY EDITING TIME DOWN.
DJI HEVC 10-bit 4:2:0 footage. Freezes from the first frame in 26.3. Appears in the export as well as the timeline. Fresh projects reproduce it. The identical clips work perfectly in 25.6 on the same computer.
DJI Air 2S footage recorded in D-Log (HEVC/H.265, 10-bit, 5472×3078, 25 fps) does not play correctly in Premiere Pro 26.x.
Hi, Context:I'm using Premiere Pro daily with a timeline opened in my Source Monitor to have a similar configuration to the "Toggle Source/Record" from Avid. I find this workflow to be a lot more precise and pleasing than pancaked timelines, as you can anticipate exactly the start and end frame when putting clips on the program timeline and use the two monitors efficiently. This way of working in Premiere actually works, but there are a few annoying bugs and small things missing that are really painful when using this workflow daily. In the current behavior, Premiere constantly reminds me that it was not designed for that. This bug has been here for a long time and is one of the reasons this workflow sometimes feels painful (see this , this and this topic). How to reproduce the bug:Open a sequence in the Source Monitor Choose the option “Open Sequence in Timeline” to view the Source Sequence in a timeline Add both an In and Out point Try to use the “Clear in” or “Clear out” function.
Using Warp Stabilizer short or long video after the analyz the whole systme crashes. The pc just switches of itself.
Documentary files so lots of them. Files have had proxies created but timeline does not always show them as being used. Watermark appears after reboot of Premier, then disappears and playback sticks throughout. I can’t even show the client progress and he along with myself are extremely frustrated. Show worked wonderfully until 2026 came around.Support phone number has language barrier and I can’t understand most of what they are saying….why Adobe, why? I decided to go from Avid to this? I am dead in the water right now waiting for a 24-48 hour “elevated” phone call
whenever i transcribe my timeline and then cut something out of my timeline, the transcription doesnt follow. I look at it and its all off. like when i hit play on the timeline, the transcription is showing something totally different then what I'm hearing on the timeline. I swear the transcription used to travel with you when you cut stuff out. Premiere version 25.4.1 (Build 3)
Cannot add media to project in MacOS 27 Dev Beta 3. Crashes consistently. Pr 26.0.2 is fine:Adding media to new or existing projects crashes every time. Can work with projects already created in earlier beta OS with 26.3. Uninstalled 26.3 and eventually found that 26.0.2 works as expected.
Hi, Here’s whats happening:I create a MOGRT in After Effects, where I use Lumetri Color on adjustment layer and adjust settings like Temp/Exposure/Contrast/etc. After exporting and importing this MOGRT in Premiere Pro 2026, these adjustments doesn’t show up. However, in Premiere 2025 - it works perfectly. I tried many different things, but PR 2026 doesn’t seem to recognize Lumetri Color in MOGRT’s at all, but PR 2025 works fine with it. What has changed in 2026 that this stopped working? Any feedback would be appreciated!
This is one thing that bugs me for many versions of premiere now. There are multiple possible situations that will change, close or even open random sequences:closing and opening a project resetting or changing workspacesSource sequences are not saved at all when closing a project. The problem with that is when working between multiple sequences, every time I reopen the project, I need to go through the process of opening all that sequences.Premiere should save them, their state (source sequence) and their order when closed.Moving panels is saved when I close the program, so why are sequences not in a reliable way?
