I am very impressed by the introduction of this advanced color tool. I watched several presentations, so far, and kudo to Adobe Photohop's engineers! I really like Julianne Kots coverage on YouTube, btw. Only one "problem" and to me it is a big one. Why on earth did the team chose the term "Luminance"? Over the more fitting "Lumnosity" term, as in Hue, Saturation and Luminosity? As far as can see, Camera RAW has no influence on the "actual Luminance" in Candela/meter square being emitted by the monitor? Does it?Luminance is a long standardized CIE term. It has a physical definition and is being used wrongly here. If you have any doubt, please refer to CIE Publication No 18.2 "The basis of physical photometry", Section 4.2 where it is defined along with Radiance. It should be changed over to "Luminosity" which is what's actually going on while editing color using the Point Tool in Camera RAW. Please, Mr Adobe. Do everyone a service and change it in the next dot release.&
I am using Windows 11 and Camera Raw 16.0.0.1677. I notice that DNG images converted from Canon CR2 RAWs using either Camera Raw 16 or DNG Coverter 15.3 with compatibilty set to Camera Raw 15.3 or later will not cooperate with Exif Tool (Phil Harvey). I occasionally use this tool to write missing lens serial number data to DNGs but it will no longer work and generates an error message (which disappears without giving one a chance to read it!). Its works fine with DNGs converted with compatibilty set to Camera Raw 14.0 or later however.Has the DNG specification changed very recently? Perhaps Exif Tool requires updating?
How to undo camera raw 16 update? My computer is no longer compatible.
When HDR is toggled on and off, clipped highlights become visible, nothing else changes... unless curves have been edited with one of the 4 preset variables. No other tools or sliders have this effect. Once curves are used, HDR SDR equivalence gets broken. This looks like a bug becasue no other tools behave like this, and it can also be very inconvenient. To handle HDR and SDR consistently curves should not reuse the 4 points/variables "Highlights" "Lights" "Darks" and "Shadows", but should instead add 4 more variables that control the HDR half of the curve. This way controllable resolution of the curve tool will also not be cut in half by switching to HDR mode. Custom point curve mode of this tool already works like that, and does not have any of the issues described. Currenrtly workaround for this bug is to always be in HDR and use "Preview for SDR Display" with Contrast -100, Clarity -100, and Whites +100, instead of switching to SDR mode.
0. Have HDR10 display, and have HDR enabled in Windows. 1. Use HDR mode in ACR and develop a photo such that it looks good in HDR. 2. Turn off the HDR button in ACR. Notice sky gets clipped to pure white, but rest of the image looks identical. 3. Hit that HDR buton in ACR again to go back to HDR mode. 4. Tick the "Preview for SDR Display" checkbox. 5. Notice that the image now looks different than it did when HDR was disabled in step 2. And while this results in highlights not being blown out by default, it also changes the contrast around midtones and shadows. I did manage to find a combination of sliders under the "Preview for SDR Display" category that returns the rest of my photo to how I originally made it look: Contrast -100 Clarity -100 Whites +100 What I would like, is for the SDR portion of the image to remain unchanged by default, with all sliders at 0, and then I just want to use the highlights slider to bring those highlights down a bit to prevent clippin
Getting the "Merged results exceeds max size" message when combining two images from my Nikon D850. I don't know if it's relevant, but there was an update to Photoshop this morning.

Hello,For two months, my Photoshop and Bridge have been blocked by Camera Raw.- I launch Ps v25.0 or Br v14.0.0- I send a file (JPEG or CR), to the Ps CR filter or to the Br G icon, these two applications are blocked.- I have to force the closure from the task manager.- When I open "help/about external modules", it’s the same.- All updates are done.- Windows 11 Family 24-bit v22H2 - 64-bit operating system, x64 processor - AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX with Radeon Graphics 3.30 GHz RAM 32.0 GB -Thank you all for your help.
Camera Raw & DNG Converter feature request: JPEG Preview needs more options. The current default medium size image resolution is too low, while the full size resolution exceeds the needs in most cases and causes large file sizes. Is it possible to add two options:1. "high size", approximately 1920x1080 pixel resolution, corresponding to 1080P displays.2. "higher size", approximately 3840x2160 pixel resolution, corresponding to 4K displays.
Gostaria de saber se consigo fazer um downgrade para a versão anterior do Camera Raw, esta atualização não está reconhecendo a minha GPU, é uma placa antiga GeForce GTS 250. Até a versão anterior à essa estava funcionando perfeitamente.
Hello, I just learned how to get what I wanted from my product photos using Camera Raw. Using the white balance tool was critical. I updated the software, but now the tool is missing! I tried hitting, "i". Did it move? It used to appear right below the Edit Section...right? I have no way of moving forward without this tool. It was perfect. Is this tool gone for good or is it a bug of some kind? Thank you for any help. Holly
All camera RAW adjustment sliders no longer labeled when file opened from bridge.
¿Es posible volver a la versión anterior de Cámerea Raw?
White patches been occurring on RAW photos shot with the Google pixel 6a ever since the last camera update of Android 14. What I have seen is that this occurs only in "google pixel" profile and doesn't occur in Adobe color profile. RAW photos are totally unusable now unless you switch to Adobe color profile. There is no problem with the jpegs or while shooting with apps like Instagram. I have attached an screenshot of what the problem is. First image is the RAW file with google pixel profile and second is the pre processed jpeg straight out of camera
Hi all,It would be great to have full color control in masks instead of only color and tint bar.So often I have a bluehish background in the shadows, or artificial light orange that I´d love to fine tune only in a part of the image using masks, but color and tint bar is too generic for me...The color mixer is only available at the first level and not in masks. I wonder why since long ago, always thought a next release would add it, but no.Another tool that would be great in masks would be a hand-free selection tool (herramienta lazo in Spanish)Any thoughs about this?

Hej Adobe! After each upgrade the CameraRAW import reverts back to 8-bit import into Photoshop. I then manually set it to 16-bit, and that works, until the next upgrade when it reverts back to 8-bit. CameraRAW manages to remember my colour profile between upgrades, but the bitdepth-setting is reset to the old default.
Using ACR 15.4 with Windows 11: As soon as I enter a number into "angle" the crop selection changes to outside the picture. This error does not happen when the angle is changed in a different way (e.g. double click on level tool).
I have been using Expert Raw on my new S23 Ultra and transfered several raw pictures to Lightroom(mobile) and edited them there. But for some reason it wont accept astrophotography photos. They are also in raw file and not even that big of a file. A few was taken with the main 1x camera and a few in 3x camera. But when i try to import them to lightroom i get the message "Failed to import 1 photo" I asked in other forums for Samsung phones but doesn't seem other people have the same problem. Any ideas?

When I'm in Bridge and going to "open Camera Raw" for a NEF file, the image freezes and I can't do anything. I have to override and force Bridge to exit through the taskbar. I have updated, downloaded many times and tried the tips online with no success. Help!I like to edit NEF files in the Camera Raw function.
When using the latest version of ACR, I see a popup window which says that in future I will need GPU to operate ACR. Will I need to buy an eGPU to operate ACR on my iMac 2019? Will using Lightroom to process my RAW files provide a work-around?
I had to re instal the previous version of Camera Raw to fix the problem. The newest version of Camera Raw gives a delay on the Wacom pen when a photo is being opened from Bridge. It takes about 3 to 5 seconds before the pen is active again when the photo is open in Camera Raw.In version 14.5 there is no problem. ( On Mac )
