Captivate

Hi All- I'm working with Captivate 11.8 on Windows Machine-the items on the Timeline are grayed out. I've reset the pause point, unchecked the pause point but I get the same result. This just starting happening to me in the last few days: I must have accidentially clicked oon something but I cannot figure it out.As this is driving me nuts, please help.Thanks--MarkPS: I've called Adobe CS four times and each time the rep  hung up on me. 

I have been asked to make some changes to a project I made in April.  I changed some audio on it and mid save it got stuck.  I had multiple copies of the project, but every time I open any of them and try to make a change I now get this message and the project / all my copies shut down.  Help me.  How do I get this project to work for me?  

Hi allI am creating a VR360 project. The learners will use a generic VR headset with remote control to interact with the hotspots. My question is as following:- Where do I host the project? We haven't got an LMS yet.- What publish setting do I choose to allow learners to view the content on the headset? - What publish seeting do I choose to allow learners to view the content on the desktop LMS (when it is ready)- Any issues with viewing Captivate VR project on a VR headset? Many thanks. 

I have gotten no help at all from Adobe or community.  Already chatted and already posted to community. Sadly I have decided not to buy the product.  This software needs fixing and updating. You have serious compatibility issues with the video screen capture... and I am not the only one complaining.  I cannot use the video capture at all, either video or software demo mode. Your technician wants me to disable my monitors, roll back my Windows updates and such, that is just crazy.  This is 2020 and software costing more than $1000 should not have these issues. My computer has all the requirements and more; Nvida Quadro 2000 graphics which is 'Adobe friendly', i7 Intel high performance chip, 1TB SSD drive, 64G RAM and 3 other 1TB hard drives, brand new system... what am I missing here? Your software should be plug an play not plug and debug.  Also, the interface graphics look pre 1995, very ugly and out of date which does not lend me to believ

I have been using the shadow/reflection feature in my training.  When I preview it inside captivate, the drop shadow is only at the bottom left. which is what I want. however, when i publish it, it appears throughout the entire shape.   What am I missing?  I dont want it all the way around the image. I tried downloading and installing the assets (in order to have access to character images).  The installation fails with Error code 41, which means it does not have access to a directory it needs.  I tried changing the default directory to something else, but it still failed.  I don't know what do do next. Any suggestions? 

This Advanced Action: Assign v_hint with 0If v_hint = 0  then      Delay 5 seconds     Show img_01 This AA is applied when entering a slide and works as intended. However, if the v_hint value changes to 1 before 5 seconds has elapsed, img_01 still appears anyway.  This makes sense since once the AA is triggered, the Delay action will begin immediately and can't be stopped, as far as I can tell, even if that v_hint value changes. I solved my problem in an enirely different way but would still be interested in any ideas out there about ways to control the Delay action. Thanks!Thanks!  

I have an SVG being used as a button.In state view I would like the rollOver state to enlarge, however the everything under Properties/Options/ Transform is grayed/unresponsive, in fact sizes do not even appear as an option if they were active.....How can I adjust the size of other states of an SVG?Also, In properties / Style there are Size options that I dont see make any achanges. What are these Size options for?Thanks! 

Hello, I have a branching course with an intro slide containing slide video, a section made up of 20 slides with slide video, and then 2 other sections with no audio or video. I will be making a series of these courses and each one will have the same format but depending on the content, a different number of slides in each section. Currently, I am manually creating a button to show the CC only on the slides that have them (the intro and the 20 slides with video), however since every other course will be different, I really don't want to have to create those buttons on every single course. What I would like is a button that I add to the first slide that displays for the entire project, but only appears when there are closed captions to display, otherwise it remains hidden so people don't try to click it expecting it to do something. I asked on a different forum and someone supplied the follow JS script, but it doesn't work. var getSlides = cp.model.data.project_main.slide

Hi,I have an issue with a project build in Captivate 9 using responsive design.It’s contains a 9MB  mp4 video - which plays fine through desktop browsers, but won’t play on an iPad or iPhone.  The video is fine, as it plays on these devices through dropbox, it just won’t when it’s in Captivate - any ideas?Thanks,Chris.

I have been creating software simulation videos with speech (from Amazon Polly) on most slides and backround music running through the Project, which I fade on the last page (which is a company bumper slide, about 12 seconds) using the Fade option in the Audio dialogue. All works fine until your video is longer than the audio track and you have to loop the audio (it still fades at the end of the audio track but doesn't recognise the end of video time, which i can understand).I've looked through the Help and most responses I found were that it couldn't be done but I thought it should be possible with "Advanced Actions", so created a list of actions, as below and set to Action on Entry of the last slide. I tested in the Preview and it works, audio fades through the slide but when I created the Video, nothing happened and the audio stays at the same volume and then stops abruptly at the end, which, of course, sounds terrible. Is it possible to check if a specific object is hidden or visible with JavaScript?I know how to show or hide an object with JavaScript but I need to verify if an object is hidden or visible using JavaScript.

So I'm working from a quiz template I was given, changing the questions that were already in the project to different questions. They're all true/false questions. The very last slide of the project lists all the questions and they'll have a checkmark or an x next to them. Problem is they're not organized correctly after I've changed all the old question slides to new ones as well as I had to add an extra two. I can't figure out how this review slide works. I'm not very familiar with quiz slides. There are no actions on the quiz buttons so I don't know how it is determined whether the images dispaly the checkmark state or the x state. 

I am trying to republish my Captivate 2019 files into MP4 files.  The CPTX and SWF files that have been previously published had text-to-speech audio entered.  When I publish to the Video MP4 the audio file does not seem to transfer.  I tried uploading the MP4 file to MS Stream to check and still no sound.Can someone advise if there are any issues with transfer of this audio file?  Or if there are steps that I should be taking to transfer the file? 

I have created fluid boxes and added text as shapes on a responsive project. The text size is suitable for desktop view. When I change to other layout previews such as IPhone X and Ipad, the text size remains and does not adjust to be suitable for the other previews. Please can someone help me to figure this out? I have a included 2 screenshots of the correct desktop view and the incorrect Iphone X view. Thanks in advance.  Matt

HiI just bought a licence to captivte after using the free trail. There is a problem with rtl languages as conbine with latin it brakes sentences and today I found out that u can't use hebrew in fill in the blank questions. Is there any advise on that?Please see the atachedShort video to show the problem 

In my project each slide has slide audio. I've created a multistate button that toggles audio on and off. Since this is a responsive project and the button is in a fluidbox, I know I can't display it for the rest of the project. I have my Sound Button and its various states.I also have and advanced action, Mute_Unmute:I figure this is easy enough to make a shared action for my various Sound_# buttons on each slide.  I was wondering if I could make an Advanced Action on slide entry which basically works like so: if slide audio has been toggled off, then it remains muted on subsequent slide entry and the sound button on that slide is in its muted state. I want to make it so that if the user has muted the audio, then the audio on subsequent slides stays muted until the user unmutes the audio and since this involves multiple objects I figured I'd need a conditional action on entry to the slide to make this happen. Any thoughts?

It seems cpdevicecapture.app doesn't like iPad Pro 12.9" I can run the app without device attached or with a standard iPad or iPad Air attached and it works fine but on opening the app with iPad Pro 12.9 attached, the app just crashes.I've replaced the device skins.xml already and noticed there is no entry in the xml for this device. So tried a few names to add an entry in trying to get this working but not sure I'm using the correct ones as app still crashes. Hi everyone.I'm relatively new to Adobe Captivate and have been using it to create an escape room. I'm working on some puzzles and wanted to know if it was possible to create a puzzle using an image like this  and make it interactive where you could click on the numbers and they would rotate or cycle through allowing the participant to select a series of numbers before submitting? Is that something that Captivate can do? Thank you for your help. 

Hello,I have a project with a clean blue slate caption background and white text closed captions.  The "x" button to close the CC box looks bad on the blue background and it's really redundant since there is a CC button to toggle anyway.  Does anyone know of a solution for removing or hiding that little "x" button?  I have used JS options to modify the functionality of certain elements in many projects, but I suspect this would be more of a template based or CSS related issue.  I've searched edges of the internet for a solution but have yet to find one.Thanks in advance for any advice!Jayson

Hello everyone!I didn't find an answer in the forums, so I really hope anyone can help me.I have three slides with a simple button each, that appears at the end of a video, assigned with just 1 point. This button just takes you to the next slide.If I press F9, I can see the 3 points in the advanced interaction. But when I preview the project, I cannot make those points to be assigned to the system variable cpQuizInfoPointsscored. It always shows 0 out of 3 points, and doesn't "pass" the test. I need this to be reported to an LMS.Those points are just a way to check that you saw the videos 'til the end. I've another quiz slides, but with no points assigned, just not necessary. I gave a try to Advanced Actions, but I didn't get any light, since I wasn't able to assign any number to the variable cpQuizInfoPointsscored. I also tried creating my own variable, but wasn't able to connect this variable with the pointsscored system variable.Leave a caption of the Advance Interaction panel with

Hello!I have a large project in breakpoint mode (desktop - tablet - smartphone), it consists of 4 different files.this project is exported as HTML and uploaded to our FTP server. i have not changed anything in the settings.So far everything went well, and suddenly (shortly before publication) individual buttons on my pages disappear. Example (view in browser): I am on page 5 in desktop mode and my back and forward buttons are there. I look at the same page on the tablet (breakpoint tablet) and the buttons are not there.This occurs in the different files on different pages and also changes when I re-export the file. Can anyone help me?

Whenever I preview the elearning module I can see interactions as they are but whenever I try to publish it, the published file doesnot show the interactions. It says its loading but it never loads and the other slide comes at the specified time. Kindly help!

Captivate has been pretty good for me in keeping audio and captioning synchronized - close enough that I haven't worried about the odd tenth of a second difference. My current project is driving me nuts. I have gone through the closed captioning editing process three times now and every time I have had a series of captions that have slipped significantly - 2-3 seconds in come cases, 1 second most commonly. This throws everything off until it doesn't and the captioning is back in synch with the audio. Yes, I am closing and saving the Captivate file between caption reviews, but that doesn't seem to help. I am copying/pasting my captions from an ASCII text file, so I can't blame any errant Word artifacts.  Anyone have an idea about how to keep Captivate captions locked to where they are supposed to be? Many thanks! Don
