Captivate

Hi,Im going to have about 20 slides in a project. Each slide could have anywhere from 5-20 buttons on it. Each button will open up a grouped set of text objects. I was going to use the state to show/hide each group, but a state can't be applied to a group (bummer).Do I have to make an advanced action for each button to show the intended and hide all the others? That is a lot of work. What is the easiest way to do this? Im using Captivate 2019.

Hello everyone, I have a problem with wrongly displayed fonts in Safari in the Q&A section of e-learning I prepared in Captivate. I had to use Din PRO font for this project. I post printscreens from Safari and MS Edge. I my add that in the rest of e-learnung fonts are fine on Safari and rest of webbrowsers. Can any of you help me to solve this problem. Initially I was making pretty complex bullet-list-looking things using images next to text captions. 8 objects to make a 4-point bullet list. Good day. I know this may sound like a stupid question, but I need some assistance in changing the color and style of the bullet points in Captivate 5.5. How do I do that?Thank you

I did some searching but I couldn't find a post with my particular scenario. Using Captivate 2017, publishing SCORM 1.2Lesson is set to complete after 50% viewed, but we also have 1-3 quiz questions at the end of every lesson. They have unlimited opportunity to answer and must answer correctly before lesson advances. (This may sound silly, but there are a lot of reasons why this is our standard set up.)We've added a Retake advanced action button at the very end so they can refresh the lesson, which jumps them back to the beginning and has a JS to cp.resetQuizData() to reset the quiz. This works great when it's not loaded into an LMS. When it is in an LMS, it seems like it's working but when they get to the quiz the questions are cleared but they can't click on any of the options again. In looking at the log, it looks like our suspend data isn't cleared. Not sure if we can force clear the suspend data or if there is a different executable we should be using. Does anyone have i

I did a demo recording using software simulation. The rollovers are stored in the slide when the recordings are made. Is there any way to edit in that slide to change or alter the rollover. I can get the slide and bring it into photoshop but it will not let me see the rollover in photoshop. When I bring it back in my changes will  be on the slide but I still have the rollover. I want to alter the rollover too.

I have a 30-SCO Captivate course in which half are lessons, half are quizzes. For the lessons, completion and success is based on slide views. For the tests, they are based on a percentage (80% minimum).The maximum score reported (SCORM Cloud) appears to be the average of the quiz percentages, so the max score displayed is 50%. Completion and Success show complete and passed respectively so long as the lessons have been viewed and quizes passed.  Is this a setting that I can change in the individual lesson SCOs or perhaps a button? I don't think this is something I can change in SCORM Cloud.Thank you.

1. I like to use the preset projects "assets" because I am still new to this. I have a 5 question quiz. I cannot select the quiz "results" slide from the premade projects. (Picture of greyed out results page included).  Not the end of the world... 2. I tried to just go to edit my quiz settings to "show score" and I check all of the things I want it to show but the slide that populates is blank. I have tried to see if it was just white words but that didn't work. Picture also attached. 

Using Captivate 9 for Mac under El Capitan……..This isn’t my biggest issue with CP 9, but it’s annoying: how do I stop it from making that dull beeping sound every time I use a keyboard shortcut? It’s like the error sound it might make if I were attempting an illegal operation. I don’t know if it’s a bug or a feature, but I can’t imagine anyone thought this would be a good idea.

when I have my project open, I'm unable to view the filmstrip on the left.  It's also not visible in the Window menu at the top.  However when I close my project and the screen is blank, I do see the filmstrip option and the filmstrip option - although it's checked it's greyed out for some reason. Any idea why I can't view the filmstrip in my open project? THANK YOU!!!Sandy

Hello all, I have sent published Captivate 2019 presentations to a client who reports that opening the index.html file brings up a blank screen in their browser.I am able to open it on my end (through Chrome) and have it work correctly.Are there browser restrictions when trying to view the html file? I believe the client is using Microsoft Edge/Internet Explorer.If this is the reason, has anyone found a work-around if the client is unable/unwilling to download Chrome? If there is any other likely cause of this, I would appreciate any help. HiI am writing today to ask a question.How do you do a test with several questions, with only one attempt per question, and with 3 attempts in the test? but that in each attempt the final score is penalized, for example with -10%. This last programming is the one that I have not been able to find in any tutorial or discussion forum, I thank you in advance for your attention and a possible answer.

Downloaded captivate 2019 and when embedding a YouTube video the user no longer gets video controls to start, stop, fast farward, CC, etc. I tried embedding the video with interactive video and media with the same outcome. I need the user controls for the video to be accessible and not seeing this option.

we have three consecutive slides of drag and drop that have stopped working on our LMS.What happens is that it flicks through the first two slides not even giving you enough time to do the exercise. you then land on the last page f the drag and drop which allows you to do the exercise. If you get it right it will allow you to continue.When I preview the slides in the source file they work perfectly. I republished the file and loaded the zipped file but no change, still not working.Not sure what needs to change to make it work. This is a mandatory module so desperate to fix it up. Appreciate any help and suggestions. My skills are weak with captivate so simplicity is best. 🙂 thanks cathy 

Hello there,👋I got a task to create a customised quiz. So I used advanced actions for creating the quiz and was storing the scores accordingly in a variable. On the last slide I am able to show the score obtained, using that variable... But I am confused that how this variable will return it's value to LMS system. Because when I press F9 and check for points in the Quiz it shows nothing. It means internally no scores are associated which generally returns the value to LMS.... SO WHAT TO DO..please help...I shall be highly obliged...Thanks a lot in advance 🙂      

Hello. I have Captivate 2019 and am having some issues syncing the closed captioning with audio.The issue is that I added the cc to the slide and I sync'd it. When I reviewed the slide, syncing in parts of the video were off by as much as 6 seconds. I then edited the cc on the cc timeline, reviewed again, and the sync was off again. For some reason it is impossible to accurately sync the captioning with the audio.  I've attempted to sync it four times now and have given up. What is the secret to getting the captioning to sync properly with the audio?Thanks, Marion

Hello, Since Adobe started using account profiles to seperate between a team-license and personal licenses on the same Adobe account I keep running into issues with my Captivate subscription. My agency is using a "Adobe for Teams" license for InDesign, Illustrator, PS, etc. As Captivate is outside of the Creative Cloud I am running a personal license of Captivate directly on my account. Up until last summer that was working fine. Now that Adobe has separated these licenses into separate profiles that you can switch between (for example on Adobe Stock), I can't run Captivate + any CC Application at the same time anymore. If Captivate is the last programme I had opened, upon opening any CC programme I am greeted with the message that my subscription has run out, I then need to restart the Creative Cloud. log out of my profile, log back in and choose my team license profile and then restart whatever programme I wanted to open. If any of the CC programmes was the l

Hi!My company has recently installed captivate 6 on 4 machines.I wish to know if 4 people can work on different parts of the same project simultaeously on different machines and then can consolidate it into one captivate 6 file as a single project?Are there any disadvantages of this.. or is there any duplication of work involved in this?Does this cause any problems to the project in terms of linkings within the project, clickboxes, etc.Beacuse when i opened a captivate 4 project which had multiple clickboxes with a jump to X or Y slide setting within the the project in captivate 6, all the linkings of the click boxes got linked to slide 1 of the project.Am i likely to face any such issues when i work on a same project in captivate 6 on multiple computers and consolidate them in the end?Looking forward for replyThank you

Hello,I am using Captivate 2019 v. 11.5.5.553. I have a project that uses a custom button set that includes CC, audio mute/unmute, replay (slide), play/pause, back, and next. The button set works great EXCEPT for the toggles (CC, play/pause, TOC). To be clear, the toggles work, but on stakeholder review, I received several comments that clicking the toggle buttons causes the timeline to continue whenever the timeline is at a pause point, so the pauses are bypassed (i.e., if there is an interaction where the learner has to click on something to continue or at the end of the slide, when the learner should have to click the next button). My initial thought was "Well, don't do that." but that won't fly.I've read through the bulk of the posts on using toggle commands but have not seen one that quite fits my issue. It seems there are only two options - Continue Playing the Project checked or unchecked. Unchecking this is fine for the TOC because I have the Hide TOC action on enter for all sl

My organization uses hyperlinks a lot. We use them as plain text, images, buttons, you name it. In the past few weeks we noticed that if we use a hyperlink to a file that is located on our Intranet page, we could NOT access the file. We can access Intranet web pages, we can access these files on a web server, but we cannot access files that reside on the Intranet that have their own URL inside of a LMS that has been SCORM-wrapped. Has anyone had this issue with Captive or their LMS?

Can we use a published scorm package (quiz course) inside another captivate project using web component or some other possible means.I'm working on a 360 project which has 120 slides already with necessary interactions. Now we feel it would be difficult to add 100 more slide for the quiz. Instead of having the quiz in the same project, can we publish the questions separately and use it in the main project as web component like iFrame? Kindly advice. 

How to I change the questions language from English to French?

I have designed a quiz for my workplace where I teach I want the students to take a 20 question quiz but I just want to submit on each slide and dont tell the student the outcome untilt the end How do I remove the "Correct - Click anywhere or press '' to continue"and the "Wrong" answer flags When I click on the properties button for the slide I dont get anything on there - you used to get the caption tick boxes there but now I cant find them Thanks in advance to the community Richard

Greetings all!Is there a way to turn on/off or disable the NEXT and BACK buttons on the skin? I am creating some custom assessment simulations and there are times I do not want the student to be able to go backwards using the BACK button.  I know I can turn those off and create custom buttons, but I would prefer to use the skin objects so as to not interefere with the simulation screens with non-application objects.THANKS in advance for any assistance.Cheers Russ

Hey,Looking for some help. I've published some files from Captivate in SCORM 1.2. I'm not too familiary with SCORM, so I've published them as best I know how. When they are loaded into an LMS, the files can be skipped through and show as complete, even if they haven't been. Can anyone help me understand how to SCORM captivates correctly please?  I've included below a little information to see if this helps further: We’ve run some tests on the SCORM Cloud platform which seem to indicate that the modules provided have been configured to return a ‘completed’ status to the Knowledge Centre if the learner exits the module before achieving a 100% score. This indicates to the Knowledge Centre that the module has been completed and it therefore unlocks the next one. It would also explain why the score is displayed as 0%. It would be better if the module could return an ‘incomplete’ status until the 100% pass mark has been achieved. Alternatively, if the
