Captivate

Hi, myself and 2 of my colleagues are experiencing the same issues. In the last 2 months, we constantly get the Update Required message. Every time we will update our operating systems, browser, and download the Captivate updates and install these. But then a month later Captivate will stop working again unless we update. One of my colleagues updated everything and Captivate still doesn't want to work. Any ideas why this keeps happening?  

Hi, I lost the original files of a scorm created on Captivate. I exported the zip files from the LMS platform I m using. I d like to convert them into html5 and/or actualize them on Captivate. Does someone know how to do it?

Hi all,I did research the answer to this question but could not find the simple solution I looked for (always a bad sign...).Here goes, I have a drag and drop interaction with learners having to place countries in certain boxes (it is on a scale from high to low showing a certain propensity for something).I want to show a hint after 2 wrong tries.This I would do using states in a text box (normal = invisible, first state = hint)So, in order to switch to the "Hint state" I need to track number of attempts.I thought I could just use an AA to increment a variable by 1 for each attempt. But for that I need that number.All solutions seem to have to do with an AA for each objects being dragged. But I have 5 drag sources and targets.There has to be another way to track attempts, no?Thanks for your help!

Hi all,I am new to using Captivate and trying to learn it by myself. So, still in the infant stage. I have attached a screenshot where I am stuck.So, the Gray Shape is not being visible when am clicking the Red buttons although I have provided the following action - Here, highlight_1 is the button name. When am using the Preview, the screen is coming without the Gray Shape. When am clicking the Red buttons, still nothing. I have tried placing the Gray Shape in the timeline above or below the red buttons but still not showing. Please help.  

Hi I'm deeply concerned that a Captivate breakpoint project setup will not be able to conform to the reflow requirement in WCAG 2.1 as the breakpoints are not triggered on zoom. As far as I understand there is also no way to reliably detect zoom with Javascript. This would be a major spanner in the works for our workflow. Can anyone confirm that this is a roadblocker for breakpoint setups? I don't know the fluid box setup well enough to say if it's the same problem there, but any input on that would be good as well. Thanks Jorgen

I am trying to use my work computer to work with Adobe Captivate 2019. It is an i3 and has 8G of RAM. however, I constantly get a fatal error message. Could this be due to the specs on the computer or is it more likely some filter my workplace has on their image? Thank you for any assistance. 

Hi everyone. I've always used Storyline and I'm solidly comfortable with it. New company only uses Mac and I'm considering making the switch to Captivate (would love to learn a new tool). How hard is it to move from Storyline to Captivate? Will I be totally lost or will having the Storyline background help to some degree? I have used PhotoShop and Premier in the past, but it's been a long time. Would love to hear any thoughts.

hi  we create module in power point first with then we import in captivate give an then publish with below setting SCORM 2004, 4th edition, LMS selectec as "other standard LMSs" , and publish, now when we publish it and test on cloud, it does not works it lags, it some time images get disappear, play button does not work not even back and next.captivate version is 11.5.5.553 please if any one has solution, please do let me know. 

Hi, I signed up to take a certification exam and was redirected to Adobe Credential Management https://www.certmetrics.com/adobe/default.aspxI signed up through PSI Exams using that link and was registered under the wrong name. As a result, I wasn't able to take my exam. I can't edit the name on Adobe Credential Management or PSI Exams and was told to post here in order to contact the Certification Support Team. I need my name to be corrected on Adobe Credential Management and PSI Exams and a refund for the exam that I was unable to take.

I want my users to be able to resume where they left off because the course is long, however by doing this when they fail the quiz they can't restart the course.  I'm new to Captivate, as I'm a Storyline user.  Can someone please help me with this.I looked around the forum, but didn't find exactly what I was looking for.  Please redirect me if I missed this on the forumThank you

HI all. I've just completed a project. Viewed it in HTML 5 preview and all narrativion plays fine. When I "publish" it, most of the audio disappears? Please help - Thank you! 

Hi Everyone, I am hoping someone might be able to help.I am working on a project and I have inserted a slide video on a blank slide.I tried to copy and paste the 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons from the previous slide but I get the fatal error message (see image below).I was wondering if anyone is able to guide me and shed some light on why this may be happening? Or any other workarounds?I am using Captivate 2019 Release v11.5.5.553 Thank you kindly 🙂 

Hello, I created an interation in the past using Javascript to caluclate the sum of variables, now I am trying to calculate the average of variables, does anyone know if that is actually possible?

The latest projects which are created in Captivate 9 show some severe audio problems. The  audio files are shorter than the original files, e.g. 1:24 min instead of 1:26 min. Strangely enough this happens right when importing the mp3 in the library. After publish you can hear interfering noises, scratches, sound peaks and "plopps". Sometimes it sounds like fast forward, syllables and single characters are cut off. I´ve tried several sound settings, even maximum bitrate and highest quality, but that only enlarges the file size with the cut offs still happening.Is there a way to keep the original file in size and quality? This is very disappointing.Have read all the correspondence on this issue and it's clearly a bug for which there is no fix.How can I get a refund so I can switch to Articulate Storyline (which consistently gets better reviews than Captivate)?Cheers,Tom

I have created a six button click and reveal. It is a progressive project and I am not using fluid boxes. I created the first button and then copied it six times. I have an image that I want to reveal and audio that I want to have played. The first two buttons work. But when I click on the third one, the image comes up, the audio plays, and then the image disappears, with the audio continuing. When the audio is finished the slide is a blank video screen with only the title showing. There are no additional variables that I am using. There is an audio file that plays upon entering the slide. I am at a total loss as to what I am doing wrong with this. When I try to upload my scorm I get the following Error.Error in fill data. The URL cannot be empty. Parameter name: url I have been through the class and can not find a URL anywhere in it. I am not entierly sure if this is an issue with the class or our LMS. The class does have a video in it but it is imbedded not linked.

Hi.I am using Vimeo as an online streaming service. when I copy the link to insert it in adobe captivate it stays loading 100% and crashes. When I cancel, I get an internal video error.Do you know how I can solve it?

Hello - we've had issues with people getting stuck in our quizzes within Captivate 9.  We've removed the back button, but when learners try to move back to the body of the course & come back to the quiz, or leave the module to work on something else and then come back to finish the quiz, it freezes.  Are there settings we need to adjust in order to prevent this issue in the future?

Hi all,  I would like to post a direct link to a job aid on our company sharepoint site. Similar to how you can send a direct link to a course. We have an existing link for another job so I know it is possible. However everything I try doesn't seem to work. In fact, I can't even replicate the link for the exsiting job aid on our sharepoint site.  Any ideas? 

I just installed the free trial and am wondering if I am able to play videos with a hotspot? A lot of stuff is greyed out and unselectable. I understand if this is just a limitation of the trial but was wanting to make sure. 

Hello all!  I'm new to Captivate 2019 and am running into an issue with importing powerpoints. I was able to import them fine before but now when I try to import some powerpoint slides into my project, the sizing messes up. It is able to import, but the slides are half cut off. For example, the slide is only filling 4/5 of project screen and cuts off but then the excess words (where it cuts off) is highlighted in black. I've tried changing the file type from .PPTX to .PPT and changing the project sizes/clicking aspect ratio but none of this has worked. Thanks in advance for your help! 

Hello, when I preview my project, on the first page of the project I see this symbol. When I click on it, it shows the title of the slide. I did not add something to help me understand what this symbol is and I would like to get rid of it. Also, I am sorry but I don't know how else to describe it. Thanks in advance for your help! 

Hello Neospeech agents do a good job overall, but is it OK to use them in professional eLearning projects, Or, is it prefereable by the eLearning community to hear the author's voice only?  Is it ok to have a mix of authors voice and the neospeech agent's voice?.  What is the trend and best practice? Any pointers is much appreicated. Thanks.
