Captivate

Hello all, I would like to manage users and groups present in adobe. I have a free trial account but once I login into the portal I am not able to see the portal to manage users or groups. I tried to login into the admin console to manage users, however I was getting error message stating you have are not allowed to access it. Can some one please help me how to login into admin console and to whom should I reach out for accessing it?I believe I should be given some rights but I am not sure how to proceed for it. Thanks in Advance

We are starting to see some weirdness when using some custom developed widgets. Sometimes when we publish a cptx file containing these widgets, we get a msg saying they are not supported in HTML5 format. There are usually multiple copies of the same widget, but only some instances are being reported as incompatible. When viewing the properties of the widgets, the ones that are being reported as incompatible have something like this in the linkage field: data-54890-209714...   For the instances that are considered compatible, they have the following: MCBuilder_v1.5.1 (the name of the widget file).  I'm thinking that the linkage pointing to the widget file is corrupt. Has anyone seen anything like this? @RodWard ? If we delete the widget and import again, that usually fixes the issue. We have seen this happen multiple times in the same file and it is becoming a source of pain. We have seen this in versions 11.5.5.67611.5.1.499

Hello.I recently updated to Big Sur on my iMac and noticed Captivate isn't displaying the Advanced Actions UI correctly. Whether I'm creating one from scratch or updating one I already created, I get this weird UI.I'm starting to believe moving up to Big Sur was not a good idea. Any idea what causes this or what should I do?

Hello, I am currently having issues publishing my VR/360 degree image project in Adobe Captivate. I only have 3 options to publish (publish, publish to adobe connect, and publish to adobe captivate prime). I want to publish to a shared folder on our internal system so that people can access the files to view in HTML5.  When I publish my project, it creates a file with an index.html file which opens to play my project. The issue is, when this is clicked to view, the play button appears as normal, but when you click play, only the hotspots show up (and function correctly), but the 360 degree image is entirely black. I checked it was not something wrong with my 360 degree image, by publishing the 360 degree example project adobe supply, and the same thing keeps happening. I have looked all over for an answer, but have only encountered others with the same issue, and no solution.  The frustrating thing is, once you publish, it asks if you would like to view your pr

Hi folks,I just had a complex request from a client—and before I go burning up hours trying to make it happen, I thought I'd ask on here to see if anyone knows if it's even possible. I've been tasked with creating a quiz consisting of 60 questions separated out in four question pools.  The client wants the user to answer five questions correctly to pass the quiz.  They want the user to keep cycling through random questions until they reach a score of five correct, then they want the quiz to end. Is it possible to have a quiz end and go directly to the results slide when a specific score is reached?Thank you! 

I attempted to create a Captivate file from a PowerPoint. Once I found the file and tried to attach it I received a the following message, "Unable to import Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. The file may be damaged." Do you know what could be causing this?I am using Captivate 2019. 

I am on a Windows 10 system, Captivate 2019 version 11.5.1.499, freshly reinstalled this morning.Whenever I try to record a software simulation demo (for an app that runs in a browser window), I only get a 3 second slide with the end result. It does not matter where I click/type or how long I actually record.I have previously recorded over 20 simulations in demo mode while on Captivate 9. Upgrading to Captivate 2017 seemed to break this functionality. Upgrading to 2019 still has not fixed this problem. I am forced to manually hit Print Screen to capture every slide.I have seen this problem described in the User Forums, is this a bug that will be fixed?

A general question - and a freelance opportunity.I am authoring an interactive touch-screen kiosk video presentation for clients and trying to determine if Captivate 9 is best for my needs. If not, I also have access to Adobe CC 2015 or other development/authoring tools. There are no questions or tracking (currently) for eLearning. Therefore, the video, audio, Powerpoint sync capabilities of the platform are priority.I would like to develop the presentation myself, but contract with a freelance developer to help me with the process, check my work, take-over if necessary 🙂 This person should have experience with Captivate or other authoring software they would recommend for incorporating video and animation into presentations and courseware. Hi thereWe have launched our first couple of regulatory Captivate-made courses on our new LMS - Oracle Fusion recently. Several users have reported elements in the SCORMs missing. I suspect this is related to slow connectivity, but we have not had anything similar with the old LMS. Access normally is from home through the EFG Portal Citrix app.These are Captivate made courses with images and smart shapes. What happens is that a few of the images or buttons just do not appear on the screen. The rest do appear, but some of the items dont. Hundreds of users have taken these courses so it is not a general issue. I strongly suspect that it is a slow connection. But this leaves me without anything that I can do. Sure, we exported the module as PDF file that is attached as Related Material to the course and this is a workaround but not the smooth one I am looking for. The courses have been relaunched several times in the last couple of years and we have never had such an issue with them.

Hi Having a nightmare.  I've developed a single course with multiple simulations.  However I don't need quiz slides or knowledge checks.I've attempted to publish to an LMS under SCORM 1.2 settings.  The completion criteria I want is a percentage of slide views (e.g. 70%).The course publishes and runs smoothly on our workplace LMS - however - after running through the entire project and closing our system is failing to register the course as 'Completed'. We get values of NOT EVALUATED instead.I've attempted adjusting the completion criteria, even to the minimum of "USER ACCESS" but still no joy.Has anyone else had this problem?Many thanks in advance!!!

If Captivate cannot successfully import a Powerpoint presentation and convert it into a Captivate file, then why is the option available?  I am using the trial version. After two weeks of failure, I am ready to give up.Since I am working from home for now, I have the time to practice turning a Powerpoint into an elearning training class.I will not purchase the software if it does't work for my purposes.I am posting to the Community because customer support will not respond to questions about a trial version.I was hoping the newest version fixed that problem. This is a culmination of attempts to create a Text Rollout animation of a Header on a slide.See Thread : How to create a Text Rollout? This lead to a solution that involved the insert of a Web-Object html zip file, but the seemed very cumbersome having to change and re-import lots of web-objects. In trying to simplify the process I wanted to be able to include the gsap animation library, and my own custom library into Captivate, that was available in HTML5 Preview as well as included in the Published project.See Thread : How to automatically include folder of files to Captivate Project preview and zipped publish output? My solution to this problem based on RodWard's information, was to add a libraries junction directory in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 2019 x64\HTML\assets, pointing to my libraries folder of .js files.In here I put the gsap.js file downloaded from greensock.com , and my own custom library jsUtils.js, then adding these two lib

Hello Community,There are some existing simulations where I need to change the font family style from Arial to a different one. I have tried updating the theme and the caption style from preferences. The font style changes, however, the formatting (such as boldface/italics etc) inside the caption text is cleared and I'd have to reformat the text.Could you suggest if there is an option to update the font family without changing the text formatting?TIA.

I'm developing an LRS as a part of an LMS and have noticed that Captivate does not put anything other than the launch activity in the tincan.xml file. Whereas Articulate Storyline includes a list of activities/ids/questions/choices that can be used by the LMS to provide better reporting.Is there a publish setting in Captivate that I'm missing?

I'm trying to capture/record a real time web conference with streaming video coming in from everybody's webcams, but all of the video boxes are just being recorded with a single image. I called adobe support and they looked into it and told me that there is some overlaying application that blocks you from recording streaming video like this, but there is a way to remove the application. He said that neither he or is supervisor know how to do it, but that I should post this forum and some technical support person would get back to me. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, I need to get this figured out this week for some important stuff at work. Thanks

I have developed a small quiz in Captivate 2019, with 4 questions. If the user fails to answer the questions correctly, a retake button will appear, prompting the user to click on it to return to slide 1 (Intro), if however, the user answers the questions correctly, then the retake button will not be shown only the continue button.  Any help would be kindly appreciated.  

HiI have tried several of the drag& drop templates in Captivate 2019. All of them only allow the learner to submit correct answers. If the learner drags a drop source to the wrong target it automatically returns to the origin. Does anyone know how to turn this off and allow people to submit incorrect answers? Thanks for your help 

I have a two-part question. I am working with Adobe Captivate for the first time, so I'm obviously making a lot of rookie errors, and now I'm stuck. I have a project that is 122,229 KB, and when published for LMS, is 63,900 KB. I have made sure that any and all graphics are the smallest size possible, but it still takes a long time to load when accessed through the LMS. My first question is, what is the ideal file size for publishing to LMS? If necessary, I may have to break my presentation up into multiple modules so that they can be accessed easier, but I'm curious if there is an easier way to approach this before splitting it up.My second part to the question: is there a way to tell Captivate to start playing the webinar while it is loading? When I tested it, it took almost 2 minutes to load the file which, in the world of online technology, is an eternity. I'm hoping there is a way to tell it to start playing the video while the remainder of the presentation is loading in the backg

The Drag and Drop interaction has a Pause After function that cannot be turned off. I want my slide to be timed (10s, so the learner has to submit the answers within that time or they get it wrong), so I moved Pause After to 10 sec and assigned the slide to Jump to Slide On Exit. This works for advancing the slide automatically after 10s exactly how I want, however, the drop sources snap back to their original position after being dropped on the target when the timeline is active. If I move the Pause After to earlier in the timeline the sources stay on the target when the timeline is paused, but then the slide will not auto-advance. As well, when the timeline is active, if I drag the correct items and they snap back and I hit submit before the time runs out and the slide auto advances, it recognizes that the items were dropped and counts it as correct even though the items aren't even visually showing on the target. Another problem this causes is that the learner can't drag the sources
