Captivate

Hello I have three smart shapes that I am using as buttons on a slide. They are all set to pause at the end of the slide. When I upload the SCORM file to our LMS, that slide automatically goes to the next slide once the audio is complete without any of the buttons being clicked. How can I prevent this, it has never happened before. 

I am having issues with a 2nd or 3rd attempt score posting to our LMS. This only happens when the following workflow is followed:Open quiz in LMS Take the quiz and fail itClose the lesson/course/module in the LMSRe-open the quiz lesson/course/module in the LMSTake the quiz and pass itWhen I look at the score in our LMS, it only lists the first score. I can look into our LMS and see that they took the quiz multiple times and verify that they have passed it, but the listed score is still the inital score. I have worked with the team at my organization that handles our LMS and they tell me that it is some setting in Captivate that is causing this, but I have tried about every setting and nothing fixes the issue. Anyone have any ideas as to why this is happening? All I get is a small text box telling me there was a problem uploading your file.  I've uploded numerous Stoeyline MP4's before but now it will not load my Cpativate MP4.

Any ideas here. I'm having an issue where the final grade in the LMS doesn't want to show the proper percentage. There are 6 questions in the final quiz. Each is worth 10 points for a max of 60 points and a passing grade is set to 40 points to allow the student to miss 2 questions and still pass. If you get all the questions correct you will pass the quiz but the score will show 83.3% rather than 100%. On the results page in Captivate accuracy will show 100% and if I test in Scorm Cloud it shows 100%. My thought is that it's likely a LMS issue but they don't seem to agree with me. They're telling me it's likely an item in the module is scoring an item that shouldn't be scored. But once again I've checked all the items being scored and it's only the final quiz questions as it should be.   Details:  Scorm 2004 3rd Version, also tried 4th Version and Scorm 1.2  Completion - quiz is passed Success - Quiz is passed  Slide views is not checked 

So I have a project that's a training template and then a chapter each for a bunch of diff states. I want to hide all the state chapters except for one and publish it and then wash rinse repeat - It seems like common sense that if I hide it in the filmstrip that change will be echoed in the TOC - but it's not! The TOC never updates and it will continue to show hidden slides unless you uncheck manually each time. Is there a way to get the TOC to automatically update to whatever is shown on the filmstrip and not add a step each time?

Hello. I was wandering if their is a way to have quiz labels remain on the quiz slide for the entirety of a course. I have a client that wants his users to review a quiz slide after answering a question and review the quiz labels, which currently display the incorrect or correct answer. I don't think this is a feature set, so I don't know if this is possible.Thank you for the help.

I have a slide that is 3 seconds long.When I insert a text entry box it automatically shows up on the timeline as active for 1.5, then inactive for 1.5.When I preview my slide the text box does not show up until after 1.5 seconds.I cannot figure out how to have it appear when the slide starts or why there is a 1.5 second delay in showing it. Shouldn't it be visible during the "active" portion on the timeline?

When I try to import an interactive video from my computer to my project an error message appears: "The beggining or finishing time specified is not valid". Does anyone know what this mean? 

Hello!I am working on a course that is required to be 508 compliant. I built the course with custom navigation buttons, which include replay, CC, play, pause, back, and next buttons. Only the Next buttons include a pause. When testing the course, I am having some trouble with the keyboard navigation. I can use the tab key to tab between interactive buttons, however, on certain slides pressing the Enter key or spacebar does not work to complete the action assigned to any of these buttons. I've noticed this happens specifically on the slides in which I've hidden the Next button. I have an "on enter" advanced action attributed to the majority of my content slides to delay the Next button showing only on a learner's first view of a slide. This is so that on a learner's first view the next button is only shown once the content has been covered, but if a learner goes back and has already viewed the slide, the Next button appears immediately. Has anyone encountered the above issue before

I would like the users move with these buttons from slide to slide and stay on a specific slide until he finds it good. How do I remove the slide time? How to make the users independent of slide's time?Thank you in advance!

I trimmed a video in captivate. When I play the video at the place where I trimmed it, the audio track continues like it was never trimmed, and a new audio track starts from the ending place where I trimmed the video. In other words the video portion got trimmed, but not the audio. Basically it's like having two audio tracks playing. I hear both tracks in Captivate and when I publish the project. I then tried trimming the audio first by editing it, and then by trimming the video, but I get the same result. The video gets trimmed correctly, but the audio portion ends up with two tracks (one is the original and the other is the trimmed version). Any ideas what may be causing this?

Hi all,I was wondering if anyone has come across this before and how you fixed it.I have a simulation with a bunch of slides (maybe 12 out of 70) that have a text entry field along with validation and a submit button on them. However after fixing little bits on the entire project and I review the text entry slides, I find that whole sections (not all text entry slides) have the Submit button changed to a normal button. So of course it doesn't validate the text entry and just continues to the next slide when clicked. When I click on the text entry field, I find that the Show Button box has been unticked. I then tick it and it brings up a new Submit button. I then have to go and realign it and delete the other - now normal - button.I have no idea whats causing it as I haven't touched these slides besides looking at them. Can anyone think of what I may be doing wrong to cause this? Is it something I'm doing on a separate slide possibly? To my knowledge I haven't clicked on the "

This is a well known and serious issue. Adobe have known about it for ages, and despite their large resources, simply refuse to do anything about it. It's not limited to scaleable projects. Unless you make responsive projects, or use the variable hack, you will get blurry text.I can't understand why, when you use typekit fonts and have to specify a domain when publishing, that the font isn't even used. Adobe simply rasterizes the text (makes pixels of it) - and badly at that.I've had three clients recently that have rejected work that I have done because (and I quote one of them here) "the text looks like it was drawn by an ink pen on wet paper". A great effect if that's what you were aiming for, but in my case, three completely dissatisfied clients.  It's meant that I've had to waste time going through every project and either converting them to responsive mode (which is sketchy at best), or using the variable hack. The glossary widget is viewable and functions when I click ‘yes’ view output while publishing and also works when project is viewed in Scorm cloud. Glossary widget is not visible when I launch project directly from a folder from desktop and double clicking ‘index_scorm’. Is there there a way for the glossary widget to work by clicking on the project form the folder? 

I am using Captivate 2017. Running as administrator (though admittedly I've tried non-admin mode as well). I have cleared my preferences.I have updated the .ini file.I have hidden slides and copied the project (and even slides, one at a time) to other projects.I am STILL getting the SWF Compilation Failed error message when I publish both for HTML5 and SWF. I have changed every setting in the publishing I can think of (turning off SCORM, changing the quality to Low/Med/High/Custom, choosing different versions of Flash).It runs fine when published solely as HTML5, and it previews just fine in a browser.Anyone have any other ideas? (I have not yet uninstalled and reinstalled)I am running on Windows 10. I have updated to the latest version of both Windows AND Captivate.I'm at my wits' end. Thanks for the help

Hi there! I have a project that is imported from Power Point. Some slides have hyperlinks to Internet sites. When I view a project in Captivate, the links load. When I published the course, uploaded it to the LMS and assigned it, the links didn't work. Please help me.What I need to do to make the links work.

Hello, I have checked the auto replay button as well as autoplay. It plays once automatically just fine. Any way to have it replay automatically while the user is still on the slide? Thanks for your help!

Hello,The LMS that I am using does not use/not compatible with Scorm. I have a quiz, knowledge test slides and a bunch of interactions.  How do I go about publishing my e-learning without scorm and loosing the interactivity in my e-learning ? Thanks in advance!

Hi AllI am trying to work out if it is possible to have a hotspot in a 360 slide that displays text and plays audio when clicked.I can get one or the other to happen by selecting the appropriate action for the hotspot but don't see any way to trigger both.I am creating exploratory projects. Thanks 

Hi everyone,For a project previously published in flash, I started the migration to HTML5. Frankly i didn't have many issues because most of the elements in my projects are supported in HTML5. My big surprise was the size taken when I publish in HTML5 (no zip files, scalable content selected).To give an example:One of my cptx is 11.5 MBWhen I used to publish it in swf, it was 4 MBWhen I publish in HTML5, the output is 25 MB. I tried all the adobe recommended changes to reduce the size (slide quality changed to low, size and quality settings change to low, no publish of adobe metadata...). With these changes, the size is now 23 MB.I still find it quite heavy...How is it possible that the HTML5 output is heavier that the cptx (sometimes than x2...) ?Do you have any tips to reduce the size of the output ? Thanks for your answers    

Hi,I had a presentation that I did not want the playback bar to appear so I went into Skin Editor and turned it off. Great, no problem. But now, it won't come back. I am in a different presenation and back into Skin Editor and turned it back on (it shows in that window), but when I go back into my presentation, it is not there. NO matter what I do, it won't appear. I uninstalled and reinstalled Captivate, nothing.I need help, I have work to do and no answers. I appreciate anyone who can assist.Thank you,Dawn

Hey Everyone,I am currently running into an issue. I am using the 2017 Captivate Version, along with publishing to HTML5. I have an advanced action upon submit of a text entry box to look like this:The action works if the first attempt is correct. If it is incorrect, it does display my failure message and button. But it will not allow for another entry attempt until the slide is reloaded. So my next question is:Is there a way to reload the current slide using an advanced action or button?If there is not, would it be possible to exit the current slide, return to the previous slide and go forward again?Example: Upon getting the TEB wrong, you would exit slide 11, go to slide 5 to review, then upon exit of slide 11, you return to slide 5. Does this make sense?
