I work in a corporate setting where we usually store our files on an internal network. When I copy the files to the shared network I cannot open my own files an I recieve this message:"Adobe could not open "XYZ.cptx". Check if you have the required permissions to open the file or if the file is already open"The file is not already open and this is my own file. After further investigation, every time I copy the file to another location on my C drive I also recieve this message.Any solutions to this issue?

Hello, I'm unable to get images to display at retina / HiDPI quality in my projects. I've tried both the exact resolution of the project, and importing a retina image to no avail. The SVGs display nice and sharp, but my screenshots look pixelated, even though the source is sharp. The player skin also seems unable to be viewed in retina quality. Would appreciate any insight into this. Thanks.

Hello! What is the recommended layout size for courses that will play on average 13 to 15 inch laptops only? I truly appreciate your advice 🙂 

I have a module in Captivate 2019 where I want 3 different scenarios to happen after the learner takes the quiz. I have built the advance action to show different messages for my 3 scenarios to appear on the Results slide, which are Pass, Retake and Coaching. The problem is, for the Coaching slide, I don’t want the Retake Quiz button to appear because I want to direct the learner to get further coaching before doing the quiz again. However, in order for that to happen, I need a custom Retake Quiz button, but that doesn’t seem to be working. I have used a shape as a button called Retake Quiz and it’s set to Jump to the first Question slide, I even tried the option of Return to quiz, but nothing works. The only way I can get a proper retake is if I leave the embedded Retake Quiz button. Which would be fine, but then it appears on my Coaching results option, which is right as it’s a fail, I just don’t want it there. From what I can find, there is no way to program an advanced action

Very basic question. I open a new project, an imprted powerpoint. At first, I thought i had a problem with viewing it on the stage only to learn that I had to scroll to see the slide. It does not stay in view and even goes behind the black curtain. How to I format the stage to keep the slide centered. I am working on a 15" laptop. Thanks helping a novice

I'm new to this quiz stuff.  I want to display a PDF onscreen, ask them for a document type and date of document (both text entry fields), and several yes/no questions (8 to be precise - I figure multiple choice works for that). I've gotten it to work by displaying the PDF on 3 screens and asking for the type, date, and yes/nos on their own slide.  I figure I can combine the two text fields on one slide, but I can't find any way to ask for all of the information on one slide. Is there any way to get 2 test fields and multiple choice questions on the same slide?

I have a number of Question Slides in a number of Question Pools. Find and Replace can't seem to see the text in them. If I am in the Question Pool, then Find seems to work. But if I'm not sure which pool the question is in, I can't find it.Any ideas for workaround?

Hi, everyone. I'm working on a interactive knowledge check type quiz which I'll eventually upload to a video sharing site. So far it's working but I created a 25 second intro video(mp4) which is 1920x1080 and put into the first slide. When previewing it, it seem to be too large. What is the ideal dimensions for a video inserted in a slide? Is it better for a flv format video instead of a mp4? Also, when the above-mentioned ends, there is a 5-second delay before the next slide(beginning of the quiz) starts. Any suggestion/tweaks to eliminate the 5-second delay? Thanks.

I have created an interactive video with 3 knowledge check slides. Works fine for many, skips questions for some, reports incomplete for some. We have had a team troubleshooting this for several days. Is this a known issue? Has anyone experienced similar? Is there a fix? If not this will render Interactive Videos useless for our organization. 

I am a beginner in developing e-learning using Captivate 2019.  I have been tasked with developing a simple 15 question exam.  I finished the exam and everything works as designed, except after forwarding the published zip file to our training department.  Once received the training department opens the file and the scoring slide gives out erroneous scoring information.  I play it back on my laptop (same laptop used for developing the exam) and everything works fine.  I am at a complete loss as to how to make it work correctly.  Any/ all help would be greatly appreciated.  Dean.

Hello al. I need help.I have a project with a score of 100 but when exporting captivate it does not allow me, it throws me this message: Scorm 1.2 cannot report a total score greater than 100 points, it must choose to notify you as a percentage.I check in advanced actions and the project score is 100, do you know why this happens to me? Thanks.

Hi, I've imported my powerpoint with animations and audio. It all works perfectly except for the bullet points as they all show up immediately before the associated text is timed to appear. It looks awful. Any assistance would be appreciated! Thanks in advance

Nothing is showing up in the Table of Contents following the generating TOC instructions. What am I missing? Using the "Project"drop down and selecting "Table of Contents"Then click "show TOC" box and nothing comes up I have master slides and I've tried grouping and ungrouping my 4 modules. I do have slides imported and edited from different themes. I tried creating a custom theme and it results in a "fatal error". There are 123 slides total with a knowledge check/quiz included. My goal to get the playback bar to work otherwise this training works fine in our LMS. This is my last piece. I'm at the final stage of launching this training so any help would be appreciated!

I've imported a PowerPoint into Captivate 2019. Some of the slides have anmation, but the animation is moving too fast.  Is there a way for me to time the animation to match my voiceover?

I have not seen a thread yet, so I am starting this one. I've been working in Captivate for 6 months, and these are a few things I found:Object selectionThe Tab key allows you to toggle select every visible object on the timeline.I discovered this when I accidentally hit the Tab key. Just make sure that your cursor isn't in a text field. It will not, however, allow you to select hidden items. It will toggle selection starting from the topmost object on the timeline to the bottommost. Want to go in the opposite direction? Hold down Shift as you Tab through objects. To edit the contents, click the F2 key.Bonus: This also works for objects in groups! So if you have a large grouping and you want to quickly change something without having to select it from the timeline, this will help immensely. Again, to edit the contents, click the F2 key. This allows you to access buried items that are fully covered by other objects.That’s all for now. Please share! Undocumented

I have been given an Adobe Federated ID for our Creative Cloud Package which states that our subscription includes Adobe Captivate but when I click on the Download button it takes me to the creative cloud program & I see all the apps there except for Captivate, Am I missing something? 

Hi, I'm new to Captivate and trying to create a custom theme to be used in all of our company's projects. I've watched some videos of how to transform an existing theme into a new one, but those were old so Captivate looks different now. When I tried to change the masterslides it looked different when I exited Masterslide. I’ve also read the user guide but couldn’t find the explanation I was looking for.I'd very appreciate if someone is willing to walk me through the proccess basics on a meeting.  

Hello,I am having an issue where when I open saved courses that I had been working on yesterday, all text is invisible until I click on the box. This is happening with all of the smart shapes and the text boxes as well.I am using Captivate 2019 release version 11.5.1.499 on Windows 10I am creating 3 large training courses that are all similar, but each have small changes depending on what department they are being sent to. I made one master file 2 weeks ago and have been altering that for each department since then. All have been working fine and I was in the testing phase to get them published. This morning, when I open any of the files (including older saved files from last week) all of the text is invisable in all of the projects.The text does not appear then I preview the course. If I make the text apear by clicking on it, it will show during the preview for only the slides that I clicked on. However when save and re-open the course, the text is gone again. If I add new text boxes

I am working on an elearning project that will use Text Speach. The client has asked us to rename all button and images for this exact purpose.I have changed all of it by going in the Accesibility feature in the Properties tab. I have also changed the name of the images in the library.But, when I print out the Storyboard (from the Print feature), I don't see the changes.I did enable accessibility in the Preferences.Is there something I am not doing right? Or did not set up right?Also, is there a reason why I always see 3 lines for button when I only have one in the page?Here is a screen capture of what I see in the printout.  

I recorded a number of projects with "Adobe Blue" as the standard caption type. I now want to change the background to yellow and text to black. This wasn't an option in the standard caption types. I did try "Pastel Orange" and "apply to all" and that seems ok, but it changed the size of all the captions, reset some of my custom timings, and changed where the caption points! Is there an easy way to go into a project, change a caption to be yellow background and black type and apply to all without having to go through and check and possibly edit every caption in the project? I have a number of projects that I need to change and time is a factor. Thanks!

Just purchased and downloaded my license for Captivate 2019. My PC will open the app but it crashes as soon as I choose to create a new project or try to open an existing file. My older files open on my Mac with the trial version. Any direction would be appreciated. I feel I am missing something fundamental. ThanksAnne

I am trying to use the "Trim" option in Captivate 2019 for an FRM slide recorded during a Software Simulation.  I want to split the slide so I can pause it for a moment in the middle.  When I do this, the new slide I am getting is a totally different size.  What am I doing wrong?  How can I correct this?

I am working to republish Captivate projects as responsive projects. These projects have quiz questions from a question pool. They still publish as SWF output with the published files. Do I need to recreate the pool or does anyone know why they do not convert and are not noted as unsupported when save/published as responsive? Any help you can provide would be really appreciated!

I cannot see my Adobe Fonts (TypeKit) listed in the available fonts. There should be a group "Adobe Fonts" but all I can see is Theme Fonts, Web Safe Fonts and System Fonts.My fonts are synchronised in the CC Desktop app and I can see them in CC apps.Is anyone else having this issue please?
